I was just so thoroughly excited to read another book from one of my favourite authors, Samantha Chase. This book, Waiting for Midnight, is another most magical, sweet romantic tale for which I just so loved dearly. Focusing on the exciting pleasures of the Spirit of Christmas time. Showing their hopes and dreams is truly a winner for me.

Finding two best friends, Maddie and Keira both chatting about their past miserable dates they have had over the years at New Years Eve parties, and what they c

4 heart melting stars.

Sometimes that one story just makes life ok, and brings a smile to your face. This sweet romance has loveable characters, and a light hearted plot that kept me reading to the very end.

For Maddie, the holiday season is not normally a happy time, with no family ahe spends it woth her friends and their families. But this year a certain ex military Sargeant neighbor, has her alert. She has secretly lusted over her gorgeous neig

An absolutely sweet romance set up on a premise of not wanting to be alone on New Years Eve. Samantha Chase has brought her wonderfully descriptive narrative style to this story of a young woman who doesn't have any family to spend the holidays with. Maddie has had a crush on her next door neighbor for over a year & can't get him to notice her. Noah is estranged from his family since he feels he always needs to be alone. Thanks to a burnt out light bulb, a mishap on a wobbly ladder & an ...more

Such a great holiday novella! Samantha Chase did such a great job with this short story. Waiting for Midnight was a sweet tale about Maddie and Noah, neighbors, who navigate the holidays by spending them together. Noah was quite resistant, but Maddie's upbeat-ness (is that a word?) charmed him into it. I would have loved this to be a full length novel, since there was so much to their story that could have been told.

Sweet book. Maddie has had a crush on her next door neighbor Noah who hasn't noticed her at all.
Her best friend tells her to move on from Sergeant Sexy.
One thing happens and she hopes just maybe it would change things between them. She tries, but he makes it clear he doesn't want anything from her.

Noah doesn't know what came over him but something did. He was comfortable on his own.
Well Maddie changed things.

As Maddie and Noah begin to hang out together is becomes a little serious.

A wonderful story of a young woman who shows great strength and courage as she seeks her HEA. Growing up as Maddie did could have left her angry and bitter but she isn't. She believes her happy is out there. It's just a bit hard to find it. She's been crushing on her sexy neighbor but so far he doesn't seem to know she's alive. Until he does. Noah has his own issues but his outlook isn't as hopeful as Maddie's. Will she be able to help heal his hard heart or will he leave her like everyone else? ...more

Favorite Quotes:

Watching the man through the blinds definitely put her in weird, stalker-girl territory and it wasn't a place she was proud to be.

I want a chance to prove to you how good things could be... I want to be the one to give you everything you've ever wanted. Let me. Please.

My Review:

Waiting for Midnight was a light, quick, and sweet holiday story with a bit of a heart squeeze, a side order of steam, and a satisfying HEA. I adore Samantha Chase's endearingly flawed characters and ente

I just loved Noah and Maddie!! I felt her pain from an unrequited crush. I mean who hasn't been there. But things start to change when Noah happens to be in the right place at the right time to help Maddie. Unfortunately this causes Noah to have an accident for which she feels responsible. So she makes him dinner and things start to progress from there. But is Maddie looking for more than Noah? Will she get her New Years Eve kiss this year or is she destined to be alone again?

A sprinkle of that magic to be carried all year round. Waiting For Midnight
brings the romance, sentiment and heart in a short story that blends hope, dreams and fairy tale wishes to create a little peace of heaven. I had the pleasure of reading Ms. Chase's edition to the Christmas in the City anthology back in December. I loved it then, just as much as I do now.

This is a short story that really tugged at my heartstrings. Maddie loves Christmas and everything about it. She also has a thing for her neighbor Noah. Noah seems to be a bit of a scrooge about Christmas and a few other things in life. You've got to read this one and see how it turns out. I enjoyed it!

Great Holiday Read!

I loved Maddie and Noah's story and how it was surrounded by the holidays. I like how Noah and Maddie officially start their relationship since they were neighbors who don't really talk to each other. One of my favorite parts was the shopping Kiera and Maddie does on Black Friday. Great a book to read while it snowing and a cup of hot chocolate.

A cute Christmas tale

A cute story and a quick fun read. The romance was sweet and had its angst and then its HEA. I loved the friendship between the two girls and how everyone’s personality and character were so well developed. If you enjoy HEA and Christmas stories then this needs to be added to your holiday fun!

Adorable Christmas story

Lovely Christmas novella about two lonely people finding love. Happy Maddy has had a crush on her grumpy neighbor for a long time. Maddy is a great character and I loved watching Noah fall for her.

So cute!

This is one of those quick reads that is just so cute you can't help but get in the holiday spirit and enjoy the fun. The story takes place over a 2 month period and though it may seem quick the story is really just a perfect snip it.

Waiting for Midnight was a delightful story about taking chances and risking your heart. Noah has been keeping to himself ever since moving into the same building as Maddie. While he has certainly noticed her, he feels that his darkness will snuff out her light, so he manages to avoid her for the most part. When he injures himself while helping Maddie, she insists on taking care of him as he only got hurt as a result of helping her.

As Noah stops by Maddie’s apartment to return some dishes, the d

Waiting for Midnight is a fun, sweet holiday read. It is definitely going on my re-read list for the holidays.

Waiting for Midnight by Samantha Chase is quick, satisfying, and combines my two favorite things, romance and Christmas.

Maddie and her best friend are tired of having no one to kiss for New Year’s Eve. When her friend starts to mention online dating, Maddie immediately balks at the idea and decides to do something about her crush on her sexy neighbor.

Noah is a recluse. He likes is privacy and his alone time. But things start to change when he helps Maddie out with a busted light bulb and they

It all starts with wanting a New Years Midnight kiss...

Maddie has had a crush on her neighbor Noah for the past year now; though they have very few interactions. Her best friend believes she should just move on from him and think of seeing who else is out there.

After trying to change a light bulb at the entrance to their apartment, Maddie was interrupted when Noah stepped in to do it himself. Only it landed him on the floor, literally. He fell and hit his head and Maddie was there to help him. W

Our story starts out with Maddie and her best friend, Keira, at Halloween. Keira is already making plans for Christmas and New Years during Halloween. Do we not all have that friend? I do and while I admire their excitement and planning skills, they also exhaust me. How the hell do they do it? I can barely keep track of the week I’m in.

Keira is trying to, unsuccessfully, convince Maddie to try online dating or anything else so that they will have someone to kiss at midnight. Maddie is definitely

I LOVE CHRISTMAS ROMANCE!!! There is something magical to me about finding love at Christmas time. Samantha Chase has definitely written a spectacular Christmas romance with Waiting for Midnight! Even though this book is a novella, it is definitely packed with a lot of story. You have read the blurb, and liked what you read, so I am not going to rehash that. I will say this, I LOVE Maddie’s outlook on life, when life handed her lemons, she made lemonade. Noah, he is an idiot!!! He is ready to th ...more

Maddie has lived next door to Noah for a year now, and she cannot figure this guy out! One night she decides to take care of the maintenance on their building and ends up running into him, literally. After a tiny accident, and a quick trip to the hospital, she finally thinks she has a chance to get to know him, but of course, Noah goes cold and MIA for a bit.

Noah definitely notices Maddie every day when he leaves for work. However, he knows she is the type of girl that wants long term, and he j
