How Far is Heaven
Priscilla and Parker Wilfork are college sweethearts happily married with two children, Deanna and Robbie, and life seemed perfect and peaceful living in upper state Maine. One day Parker goes on a business trip to California and does not return.
Priscilla searches for how and why her husband disappeared to no avail. Deanna cannot accept the fact that her father is gone. She asks questions daily about her father’s return and becomes despondent.
Priscilla tries to get her life back to normal for her children after two years and decides to tell them that their father has gone to Heaven in an attempt to put an end to the questions from Deanna that she cannot answer.
Priscilla finds herself doubting whether he is still alive when she begins to have dreams where Parker appears to her as an angel. Just when things seemed to be better and the children were accepting that their father would not return, Deanna disappears. Now Priscilla must once again search for answers to why another member of her family has disappeared before it is too late for Deanna. She fears that her husband’s disappearance could somehow be connected to Deanna’s.
Priscilla turns to a local police Sargeant, Blake Furelli, for assistance in finding her daughter and solving the mystery of Parker's disappearance. But it seems there is more to their friendship than meets the eye. Sargeant Furelli, too, has suffered a loss and feels drawn to the ethereal beauty of Priscilla Wilfork.

How Far is Heaven offers a great mix of mystery, romance and angelic messages.A seemingly happy couple - Parker and Priscilla are broken up by a tragic incident when Parker ventures out for a business trip but never returns home. Priscilla finds help with trying to find her missing husband from a compassionate police Sargent, Blake, who makes it his mission to solve the mystery of her missing husband.
In the midst of the investigation, more grief fills Priscilla when her 8 year old precocious daughter, Deanna, goes missing. We are left wondering how these two events are connected and we're kept hoping through the investigation that Deanna will be found. Through the tragedy that ensues, Priscilla tries to keep it all together for the sake of her missing daughter and for her little boy. As the investigation continues, Blake finds himself taking a great shining to Priscilla as he feels a common bond with Priscilla's loss and his own recent suffering of a great loss. Blake's compassion for Priscilla grows into a friendship.Meanwhile, sweet Deanna keeps her hopes of being found alive because of her spiritual connection with her father's spirit and the 'promise' he made her that he'd always protect her.

I absolutely loved this story! I even read it twice. It started with a hook and kept me intrigued the whole way through. I really liked the plot, the romance, the danger, and the ending. There was no dragging. It took me a minute to get all of the nasty boys' names placed with who and what they were doing, but I just had to back up and re-read it to figure it out. There is a lot of action taking place in this book, and I didn't want to put it down. Get your copy today!

This is a beautiful story with a great ending. Patricia Wilfork is a happily married woman. So, when he husband mysteriously disappears she is lost for an answer as to why. Along with her two children, Patricia tries to rebuild her life still not knowing what happened to her husband. When Patricia's daughter also disappears the story twists and turns with a spiritual edge and readers are taken on a great journey. The author does a wonderful job mixing the spiritual aspect with a mystery thriller that will please readers of all genres.

More implied violence & sexual content. Very tastefully written. I was a Beta Reader & LOVED this. The The love of a person for his family transcends death especially when his family is in danger. Gave me goose bumps. Awesome read.

How Far Is Heaven by J.E. Spina is a poignant story of Priscilla whose blissful life takes a sudden turn just with one incident – the mysterious disappearance of her husband. This book is a page-turner, as Spina keeps the readers on tenterhooks, keeping the hopes alive with the investigations and telling her children that their dad would return soon. Despite the darker aspects, this is a heart-warming and feel-good story that breathes positivity.
Spina’s style is simple yet gripping, as she doesn’t waste a single word in dragging the story or dwelling on the emotional upheavals. Her characters find a quick solution to their problems; even Deanna knows how to handle the situation she was placed in. Parker’s presence adds a special charm to the story. Only Blake seems to be implausible but he has his own reasons for being so sweet. Highly recommended.

How Far is Heaven is the story of a tragedy that befalls Parker and Priscilla, a happy young couple with two small children. When Parker mysteriously disappears, Priscilla's life is turned upside down. Knowing that Parker will never return, Priscilla enlists the help of Officer Blake who pieces together the parts to discover what happened to her husband.
The story is interesting with a lot of moving parts that come together in the end. It has elements of mystery, suspense, and romance which makes it appealing to a wide number of readers. The most heartwarming part is the message that a father's love for his family can transcend even death itself. While there is a bit more of telling than showing throughout the story, it is still a very good read and one that many people will enjoy.
