Rune is the grandson of Thor, and just as strong. Exiled to the realm of Earth for nearly killing his brother–it was a little misunderstanding– he has to find a way to redeem himself so he can get back to Asgard. And when he lands—literally—in the bed of a fiery redhead with an FBI badge, he realizes that she may be the key to going home. But helping Liv hunt a killer has ...more

3.5 - "Let's hunt." Stars!

Libby Bishop, offered up a new and unique twist on the Murder-Mystery trope with Son of Thunder in that we have a sexy God of Asgard (Thor’s Grandson, no less), helping a human FBI agent solve a murder case from six years ago.

And what a refreshing and enjoyable read it was. I really loved Rune and Liv together, even though things were a little of the ‘insta’ variety, they worked on this occasion for me. Liv lost her best friend to an unexplained and unsolved murder six

Libby Bishop isn't an author I'm familiar with but, if you write a book in which the hero is Thor's grandson, then I'm there. And when you add in the the fact that, and I quote, Rune is "...a sexy Viking god with a dirty mind." ...

Rune's great-grandfather, Odin has banished him from Asgard, family spat, and it transpires Rune's twin brother favours Loki's side of the family in the fact that he's a git. And FBI Agent, Liv gets the shock of her life when a God literally falls from the sky into on
This story had a delicious combination of ingredients to make it one that is well worth savouring! It is a contemporary based fantasy with paranormal elements, including a Viking god, a murder to be solved and a killer to be caught as well as a romance - a superb mix that creates an intriguing read that is great to escape into.

A hot Viking god - Rune, grandson of Thor - is being exiled to Earth after nearly killing his twin brother, Reign. Instead of landing in an isolated area, Rune finds himse

Man oh man. When this book came up on our review list, at least three of us wanted it. Guess who got it??? I mean, if you're a Marvel lover and especially if you were totally in love with Thor (come on, who wasn't), then why wouldn't this sound awesome? My thoughts exactly. And so the hype was thrown down. Although I enjoyed this, I think the hype might have gotten the best of me a little bit. Dang it.

The grandson of Thor, Rune, has been exiled to Earth because, well, he nea

~ Book generously provided by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion

When I saw this book on NetGalley and saw that it was about a descendant of Thor I knew I had to request it, because Chris Hemsworth, duh!

As much as I liked the premise of the book, I was quite disappointed. By 50% of the book I was convinced I would mainly write a real negative review, because of the following points.

The sex scenes were uncomfortable to read and normally I don't have any problems with sex
Many thanks to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for giving me a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Odin and the rest of the gods aren't just mythology, they are alive and "kicking" in Asgard, and humans are well aware of their existence.

Rune, Thor's grandson and Odin's great-grandson, is exiled to Earth for nearly killing his twin brother, Reign, in a fight. Rune considers the punishment unfair and wants to return to Asgard as soon as possible because he is worried

A mix of romance and Norse mythology. I found the Rune to be great choice of Norse God for this story. As the grandson of Thor he brought integrity within the mythological aspect of Norse mythology and a nice added mixture of heat to the romantic aspect.

He is banished to earth to prove himself (it turns out to be so much more than that) after beating his brother, Reign to a pulp for the killing of Runes friend. At the same time Liv is out to find the killer of her best friend and it turns out w

Interesting story.
It's an interesting read. I loved both Rune and Liv. Rune is a God, and Liv is human. Both are on the hunt. Liv is looking for her best friend's killer and Rune is helping him to locate the killer. There is a good chance that the murderer is god kin. The more time they spend together the more they're attracted to each other.

Liv might feel attracted to Rune but she cannot trust him, at least not entirely. Rune on the other hand is quite enamoured by the feisty human. For now he

Rune nearly beat Reign to death for killing his best friend.Rune is Thor’s grandson who is exiled to earth because of what he did to his brother Rune is exiled to earth until he deserved to go back to Asgard. Rune ended up in Liv’s bed. Humans know that gods walk among them. Liv is an FBI agent and she is also on a two week vacation in her cabin. Liv is there to again investigate the murder of her friend as she has every year for the past six years. Rune is a hunter and alpha male but h ...more

The moment that I read in the synopsis “Thor” I knew that I had to read this book, then looking at the cover it was a must. This was an amazing read it was beautifully written and the characters were amazing.

Rune and Special Agent Liv Winter have a special connection. Liv knows that on earth there are Gods that walk among them but for one to fall into her bed that was unexpected. Rune had been banished from his world of Asgard and he didn’t like it. He knew that he needed to listen but didn’t m

DISCLAIMER: I requested to review this book through NetGalley.

Loved this so much!

Let me start this off by saying this book is better read by readers ages 18+. It is an adult romance after all.

Rune is the grandson of Thor. Need I say more?

Liv is a fighter and she works hard for justice. Her best friend was murdered, for crying out loud. No one should have to experience finding their best friend so brutally murdered.

I think the first best part is when Rune steps through the Gate after receiving h

Six years later, Liv is still searching for her best friends murderer. Rune has been exiled from Asgard and he needs to redeem himself to find his way back. Together they make a deal to accomplish their goals only to find out their goals are intertwined and soon, so are their hearts. SON OF THUNDER was a great read with an interesting world and a spicy romance.

The attraction between Liv and Rune is instant. They make their attraction to each other known and even act on their attraction right awa

Liv Winter Is determined to find the monster who killed her best friend. She's an FBI Special Agent who has the skill and training to do that. It's been six years, but she won't give up. She gets some unexpected help when Rune, the grandson of Thor, falls on her - literally. He has been exiled from Asgard for nearly killing his brother even though it was justified. Will these two work together to stop this evil? I love a strong, feisty heroine. Liv is all that and more. She doesn't even blink wh ...more

I was excited to finally get time to read another one of this author's books. The other one I had read was the start of a new series that was so promising but you know what they say about time. I seen this and made the time. Paranormal but with the workings of normal (whatever that is). The fascination for Thor will work for this one being his grandson is the main man or squeeze. Being punished he must work his way back he gets his chance romance being the way. HAHA this is sure to bite him in t ...more

Hmmm a dirt talking alpha god? Sign me up!!

This book had me from the words, 'Grandson of Thor'. It didn't disappoint in that it had a fair amount of norse mythology and the fact that he actually acted like a god might.

Rune was kinda cute in the way he boggled Liv's body and the way in which he explained what he could whilst trying to keep the godly secrets that he was unable to spill. H

I don't read paranormal books, but something about "Son of Thunder" sucked me in. Okay, it was the fact that Chris Hemsworth was the image that danced in my head while reading the blurb.

Rune is a sexy, not-too-arrogant hero that you can't help but admire. His loyalty to Liv, a human he's only just met, and his willingness to help her even with his grandfather's punishment hanging over his head makes him even more attractive. Liv is a strong woman that is the perfect complement for Rune. Liv is a

Liv Winter is going back to her cabin to do her usual annual look through the murder files from when her best friend was killed. It has been six years and still she is no nearer catching the killer. As an FBI agent she knows that it's unlikely that was his first or last murder. She needs to find something new to help find him.
Rune is the son of Thor and Grandson to Odin, but he is annoyed with them for not punishing his brother for the behaviour he has got away with since they were young. This

Oh I loved the whole storyline of Son of Thunder Thor coming down yet in some way felt it lacked a little bit. The idea of Rune working with a human was funny but seemed more it was on the murder case then really getting to know each other. Don`t get me wrong the case is important for Liv but felt she could have been a little more open to the romance and love that is obviously there from Rune. Now Rune is definitely Son of Thunder with all his sexy charms and seduction it was hard to ignore him. ...more

I received an ARC from the publisher via Netgalley.
Son of Thunder kept my interest. I did enjoy it. It was lust at first sight with Liv and Rune. So much lust. It did feel like they had known each other a bit longer. At least, that's my opinion. They will have to work together to catch a godkin who has been killing women. That is, unless they don't kill each other first.
Rune and Liv get under their skins right away. But also Rune has a need to protect her and be around her.
Read it if you want to

I thought Thor was hot, Rune is Electrically Sexy, His poor choices lead him to Liv and she is his salvation. Will he want to go back to Asgard so badly after he realizes he hooked on her?
