The Simple Guide to Bird Care & Training reviews what type of bird is right for you, cage sizes, feeding, simple tricks, and a section in the middle where one page each is dedicated to the most common types of pet birds. Those pages tell you their care level, their size, their weight, common colors, whether they are good for beginners, whether they are able to learn tricks, and whether they are cuddly.
I liked the thoroughness of the guide to training your bird to do tricks and how it went through all the birds with the descriptions. I would have liked it to have had listed even more birds.
I would recommend this book to first time pet owners thinking about bringing a bird home.
