Full of an adventure that changes many peoples lives. It has amazing details, shows the love of family, friends and the inevitability destiny that stands in front of one farm girl. It pulled me in from the start and never let me go. The magic in this book is so well described and explains it to the reader in a way that you can visual exactly what’s happening. I can’t wait to start the next book in this series!

Fantastic start!

What a great read! From the very start I was drawn into Isobel's world. I look forward to following her along on her journey. Any fan if the genre will recognize Thompson's nods to LOTR and Wicked, among others. Her love of reading and skilled storytelling make this a page turner I didn't want to put down.
Well done!

A trail to the future.

Isobel and her companions must travel a hard trail to join human and elf in a fight against evil. I enjoyed this book immensely. It's action packed and imaginative. The trials faced are both breath taking and mind boggling.

Characters are well developed and the story has a wonderful underlying message. Typical good vs evil outline but with a unique twist. Empowering, fun and makes you wish you had magic of your own. Highly recommend for fantasy, young adult or adventure lovers alike.
