The holidays are a time for second chances.
Warren Blessing lost his wife (two years ago), and his kids decide he’s been alone too long. They send him on a holiday singles cruise so he can meet someone new.
On the flight from Chicago to Miami, he sits next to an attractive man, but when the flight’s over, he doesn’t think he’ll see him again.
Fletcher Hammond is a professional mystery shopper for vacation destinations and travel. After a split from his unfaithful fiancé, he’s embarking on a singles cruise. He meets a lovely gentleman on the flight, whose conversation and cocktails help Fletcher through his fear of takeoffs, but he doesn’t expect to see him again.
As if by fate, a meeting in the ship’s dining room renews their mutual attraction. But can they build a relationship with distance and baggage working against them? Or will they part ways when they return to port?

Who can resist a second chance at love especially on a luxurious singles cruise no less?
Despite understandable doubts and fears on both Warren and Fletcher's parts, this was easy and simple, if not just a tad too fast in progression and a bit awkward in execution.
Still enjoyable because of course, Warren and Fletcher find their well deserved happiness with each other, having at their disposal excellent food and entertainment, room service and spa treatments, along with endless fun time in the hot tub that further spurs their growing feelings!
If only everyone could fall in love under such ministrations! Lucky bastards!!

This story was a very sweet and rejuvenating little romance about two men getting a second chance at new love.
The story follows widower Warren as he gets sent on a Christmas-time singles cruise by his two college aged kids. On the initial flight, Warren is seated next to a man named Fletcher and the two hit it off. As fate would have it, Fletcher is taking the same cruise as Warren, and once they meet up again on-board the ship, they fall hard and fast for one another, spending all their time together in and out of bed.
I liked this story a good deal but Warren and Fletcher’s fledgling relationship was perhaps a little too easy and a little too sappy for my general tastes. And although this was a fairly short story, I found a lot of the happenings and conversations became a tad repetitive in the second half.
Aside from those few minor niggles, Warren’s Peace was a very sweet and sexy little Christmas treat and I enjoyed reading it.

Widower and father of two (almost) grown kids, Warren Blessing is going on a singles cruise - a cruise set up by his children hoping he'd meet someone. Warren is not as sure though, he hadn't dated in over twenty years and the prospect is nerve wrecking. On the plane from Chicago to Miami he meets the gorgeous Fletcher Hammond. Figuring that he'd never see the man again once they'd landed he tried to get him out of his mind. That is until they meet again on the cruise.
Writing a short story is far from easy, but Emjay Haze did a really good job creating a story that didn't feel choppy or rushed. Sure there was this insta-love vibe lurking in the background - I mean how it could not with such a short time span. I do say lurking though, because they did spend time together, getting to know each other (out of the bed) and the commitment and love wasn't instant or at first sight. It grew - just very quickly.
There were only a couple of things that didn't quite work for me. I was happily reading along in the story, my mind fully on that ship, in the pool, and having a blast. But every now and then there were lines that didn't make sense and it threw me off, to the point where I had to go back and re-read the last part to find out what I'd missed, only to find that I hadn't missed anything and those weird segues really were there.
Then there was the sugary sweet story. Now I love sappy stories, love my sugar highs, but I don't like perfection. Everyone were too perfect, there was no conflict or flaws in sight. So it might not be a huge issue, but it made me like the story just that little bit less.
Overall this was a sweet short story that was enjoyable for the moment. It wasn't overly Christmassy, but then again cold is not my thing, so send me on a cruise any day of the week.

His wife knew about his bisexual nature and that didn't matter. They were in love and had made a wonderful family. Warren is now embarking on a singles cruise that his kids insist that he takes. Warren is worried that he has to tell his kids that he is interested in men.
Fletcher hates flying. Which is strange because he does it for a living. When he is met with kindness on the flight, he wishes that he'd see him again. Fletcher is taking some stock of his life because while he loves his job, he is lonely.
Both men are looking for something, but not quite sure what. When they find each other again, they see it as a sign from the fates. They begin their relationship on a cruise and from there, have to decide whether or not their relationship can survive the reality that they live in.
It was a sweet story, but mainly because I enjoyed watching Warren's kids push him to not be lonely. Otherwise, it felt a little flat and not very developed.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for this.
At the encouragement of his kids, Warren is heads off on a singles cruise in the week between Christmas and New Year's. He meets Fletcher on the plane and they both wind up on the same cruise. I really like the set up for this book. It is easy to image meeting someone on a plane or even on a boat and having a romance. It is a believable fantasy.
The romance between Warren and Fletcher is nice and straight forward and there are no surprises in this story. But it was enjoyable to see the men fall in love while taking all the fun a cruise has to offer and it did make me want to take a cruise myself.
Warren's Peace was good and I liked seeing a story set around New Year's instead of Christmas like most are at this time of year.

What I liked most was Warren and Fletcher are both middle aged, moat M/M books are about young hotties. I loved the fact that Warrens kids want him to be happy. This was a sweet short romance that I would recommend for a nice rainy day.

Meeting on the plane, they regret a missed opportunity. When they meet again, neither man is willing to let their chance slip by again.
Zero angst, full-steam ahead romance with two mature, adult men that know what they want. Fun interaction with kids. Hop-skip fast-forward timeline lacked depth and ending was abrupt but it’s often difficult to pack in enough to satisfy everyone in these holiday shorts. Overall, it was well-written and I enjoyed the main couple. Wished there was a little more.

This was a sweet, romantic read. It is a story about two men that have suffered different types of loss only to come to accept that there may still be a chance for happiness. This is only a short story and it is based between the day after Christmas till after New Years. So it could be called a Christmas love story. Emjay Haze did a great job on this book. It was definitely a light hearted read that puts you in the feel good spirits just in time for Christmas.
Warren lost his wife to cancer two years ago. He has not dated anyone since but his children have decided that it is time for him to find someone again and be happy. They booked him a singles cruise in hopes that he will meet someone. At first Warren is reculant to go on the cruise. Even when he got on the plane to take him to Miami. But that was made easier for him when he was upgraded to first class and was seated next to a very handsome man.
The man in question is a guy named Fletcher. Fletcher works for a company that has him traveling and writing reviews about cruises, airlines, hotels, and such. So of course he cannot tell anyone what he does. When he meets a man named Warren on the plane, he wishes he would have gotten to know him better. But after finding his ex cheating on him, Fletcher is not sure he is ready to get back into the dating scene again just yet.
What happens when these two men run into each other again on the cruise? Will they each find someone of the cruise or will they end up together? Or maybe alone? What will happen when the cruise is over?
This was a great read. I really enjoyed it. Like I said a feel good read.

This was a cute story, but it just didn’t really work for me. While I found Warren and Fletcher to be likable, I just didn’t connect with them at all and I found no chemistry between them. They were sweet and fit well together, but because I felt no chemistry the story was just kind of Blah for me.
As for the writing, I found it to be a bit stiff and somewhat formal at times. Maybe a better description is the characters often used proper grammar when asking a question like, “May I have this dance”, it just didn’t feel natural. Also, it was way too much telly and not enough showy, I want to see it happen, not be told what’s happening. One thing I was impressed with was the handling of Warren a widower. I’m often wary when picking up a book where someone has lost a spouse, because too often it feels like the new love interest has to compete with their ghost, but I’m happy to report that wasn’t an issue with this read. Although not my favorite, this was a quick, sweet and sexy read.

In a tale that reminded me of a holiday episode of the Love Boat series (on TV more years ago than I’d like to admit), Warren and Fletcher end up in the kind of romance that cruises, sunshine, and great entertainment seem to encourage. Both men have had a hard time in the past, and it was great to see them bond – even if the speed they went at was whirlwind-plus – if not faster.

Their chance meeting on the flight to Miami is romantic and sparks fly from the start. This is definitely instalove but the characters - and Warren especially - are well developed for a short story. This is a medium heat story that is sexy without being completely explicit. It is an easy, enjoyable read.

And when he sits next to a gorgeous friendly man on the airlane - and then learns he is on the same cruise - insta-love blooms and the two men spend the cruise together, exploring the ship and each other.
The story moves quickly without a lot of character development, lots of "tell" versus "show" and some very choppy dialogue. For example, talking about Warren's children, Fletcher asks: "It seems they'd turned into fine adults. You should be proud of yourself. So you're bisexual." And when Warren tells his children of his bisexuality, they accept this in about a hot second or two ("I knew it," Stephanie screamed in the phone. "That's so cool." and "Is he hot?" Warren wasn't expecting that answer from his son.)
I liked the framework of the plot and liked the chemistry between Fletcher and Warren but would have liked a bit more nuanced dialogue and character development. 3.5 stars.

Warren's Peace was a good story about older men starting new relationships.
Warren's friends and family get him tickets for a singles cruise. He has reservations, not dating since his wife died two years prior and had cancer two years before that. His kids are grown and want him to have a life of his own. He isn't sure since he dated men before Sarah and his tastes lean towards men and he isn't sure how to tell his children. On the flight to the cruise, he meets fetcher a sexy businessman.
Fletcher is a mystery shopper for vacations and hotels. He doesn't like flying and the nice man beside him relaxes him on the take-off and landing. he was in for a surprise when he meets Warren on the cruise he is working on.
I liked both Warren and Fletcher. The characters are interesting and relatable. I also loved warren's kids. The story is interesting and realistic.
It is a good, heartwarming holiday story.

This was ok. Full of some sexy scenes and two men with troubled pasts trying to move on. They fall in love on a cruise, but it's after the cruise when it really matters. They journey into new worlds for both them and give it a go.

Chance meet and a coincidence of cruising puts Warren and Fletcher together.
A bit too perfect and lovey dovey for me but nice for all that.
Certainly makes you want to head for a cruise!!!

What wonderful kids who would not only encourage their dad to move on but to accepting of the direction that takes. I was excited to see the potential for a future for these two men.

This was sweet although the romance/love portion moved very, very fast. Of course, this is a short novella for the holidays, so I suppose that makes sense.

This was a very cute and fluffy story with more mature characters, which frankly, is a nice change. The lack of any kind of conflict will keep the story from being too memorable for me, but reading it was still a Hallmark type holiday hug. Everyone was incredibly pleasant and Warren’s kids (adult level kids) were pretty invested in his love life (especially his daughter) which seemed a smidge weird, but whatever, everyone was happy and good for them. There was some opportunity for a little drama when Warren told his children that he’d met a man on the single’s cruise.. The revelation was glossed over, which is ideal obviously, but probably not super realistic. But I don’t come to a Christmas story for realism necessarily and Warren and Fletcher know how to take advantage of a high end cruise and a hot tub.
