Naoshima Naocola, _Utsukushii Kyori_. Title in English would be _Beautiful Distance_. The story of a 40-something businessman attending to his wife as she dies of cancer. The “distance” of the title refers to the space he maintains between him and his wife. His natural instinct is to smother her with attention and help, but he refrains in order to allow her the integrity of whatever independence she is able to maintain. His tenderness is incredibly moving.
