Rumours abound that the famous artist Patrick Trafford has taken Parkstone Manor, the run-down estate bordering the Duke of Winchester's country seat. When Lord Vincent Sheridan, the duke's brother, discovers the speculations to be true, his interest is piqued by Niamh Trafford, Patrick's granddaughter. But Nia, apparently impervious to his charms, is determined not to marry, fully committed to her responsibilities of running the household and protecting her beloved grandfather's reputation by keeping his diminished mental capacities secret. Meanwhile, someone is exploiting the artist's wandering mind by dealing in forged Trafford portraits. Can Vince assist Nia in tracking down the criminal - and perhaps win her heart too?

This series of books seems to get better and better. Mystery, deception, murder and twins! What a whirl wind! The Duke's family get mixed up in all measure of mischief. This time around art. Grandpapa is a wonderful character and the twins are just gems to the story. Nia is a rock and Sophia is a refreshing change. A must read as are the rest of the books in this series.
This is another brilliantly written story in a great series. The plot has plenty of emotional fears as well as some suspense. The main characters are beautifully portrayed and manage to achieve their joyous end. This is a brilliant book for anybody who loves clean historical romances that have a bit of mystery.
