To break away from her overbearing brothers, Fallyn O’Keefe opens a bakery to show them she can do it on her own. She thinks her biggest problem will be defending her storefront from the violence of the rival family, who would much rather see her chased back into the east end of the city with the rest of the brawling O’Keefes. When Vince, the older, terrifying head from the enemy family shows up with flowers instead of his gun, Fallyn worries the fighting between her family and his will escalate from fists to firearms.

Caught between her family and the possibility of more, Fallyn must decide just how much she’s willing to sacrifice to keep her business, her secret love, and her life.

This is book one in The O'Keefe Family Collection Trilogy.

Typical mafia romance with a twist. Two feuding families with a long history of love and hate. All boys on both sides, Italians and Irish. Fallon, the only sister and youngest sibling in the O'Keefe family falls for the Vince, the oldest in the D'Amato family. I skimmed a lot through this book because the story was somewhat long and drawn out. Towards the very end when I was really getting into the story, it ends with a cliff hanger.

No way would I pay for Part 2, and an expensive book at that. 3 stars is generous because it' really about 2.5 stars.

Loved Fallyn's character.

Great job this author did on the conversations and responses for all the players. Terrific plot and the family interactions was carried through the whole book; but their cold blooded justice of killing drug users and dealers was a bit hard to accept. The ending was a big whaaaat?

Love all of Mary “ Tuesday Embers” books . She is amazing ! I was immediately drawn into these books and the families in the story . We meet the O’keefes , the Irish family and the D’Amatos , The Italian family .
Fallyn has moved back to her home town on the east end ( Irish territory) and her 7 brothers and her Head of the Irish Clan daddy who has dementia . The brothers are super protective of their baby sis and will do anything to anyone who gets in the way . The family is know for Their harsh tactics , crime , and illegal businesses, but w Patrick O’Keefes minds slipping from him , oldest brother Killian is in charge of the family and cleaning up the family act .
Fallyn is a baker and opens a family bakery , ran legit ! , in the “ neautal “ territory of the two clans , because the west Belongs to the Italians , and with Papa D ( head of the Italian family dead ) brother Vince D’Amato runs things and is trying to legitimize the family as well .
Although both family’s have problems they both want clean and safe neighborhoods but also will not tolerate or take any shit and will shoot ya if needed .
One weakness they share now :
Fallyn !
Vince begins to fall in love with her and she is starting to share the same affections , but they cannot let their families know !!!
They sneak around and try to maintain neutral business relationships around others .
All kinds of drama leads to many things . I highly recommend this series !

Anyone who has been searching for this popular trope like I have been, but without the smut and nonsensical graphic content, this is for you!

I adored this book so much. It's fast paced with wonderful banter that had me cackling and giggling throughout. I love Fallyn. I love Vince. Their romance is super touching and swoonworthy, and best of all, it's not spicy!!!. I have always loved mafia romances, so I'm truly impressed by the way that this author casted her efforts more toward nailing that strong chemistry between the FMC & MMC, riveting personalities (especially for fiery little Fallyn) and the reasonably decades-long conflict between the two warring mafia families here. While this totally packs a punch in the drama department, I would not call this dark or anything, for the simple fact that it isn't particularly violent or raunchy, and really just remains surface to mid-level in terms of journeying you through the horrors and tragedies of mafia life. I think it's safe and could pass for YA.

This does end on an absolutely harrowing cliffhanger and I have book 2 queued up!

Mr. Wrong but so right...

To be the only girl of seven brothers and the only girl in this mafia family, finding true love can be a challenge. Or not allowed. Of course she would fall for the one guy she has no business falling for. The head of the mafia family her family been feuding with for years. Of course he all wrong, he a mafia boss, a killer, and the enemy. But why does it feel so darn right? Fallyn tried everything in her power to forget Vince and to not fall for him, but it just didn’t work. The family is trying to end the feud and find peace, but the love that Fallyn and Vince have can run all the hard work down the drain and fuel the feud with even more fire.

Ok maybe 1 star is a little harsh but I feel cheated. Maybe I should have read the reviews before I bought this book. I saw "family trilogy" which I thought meant different family members. NOPE.

There is no HEA at the end of this book. It is a cliffhanger....which I personally hate and usually refuse to read.

I really, really liked this heroine as the book progressed. The baseball scene where she threatens to smash her brothers car windows if they don't back off was great. The chemistry between her and Vince was wonderful. The mending of the family rifts, yes. The ending NO.

If you like cliffhangers and a 3 book set about the same people.....you will like this book. I will not be reading this author again.

Fallon and Vince are very, very cute together. I love how this book combined a snarky, cool heroine and a strong, hardened hero. Not to mention some of my favorite tropes - forbidden love and older brothers - plus a helluva lot of humor. Despite never having been in her situation, I could relate to and admire Fallon. And I was practically in love with Vince. Plus, with that ending, how could I not read more? This book is the first in a trilogy about Vince and Fallon. I look forward to reading more of it. 5 stars.

Hooked

From the very beginning I was hooked, till the very last page!!! Without giving to much away, the story plays out between two families whom eventually find common ground amongst each other. The characters in the book left me with a deep emotional connection that had me begging for more of their story. I'm looking forward to reading the second book in this series, but that's just putting it mildly lol. I love this book, it had everything you could ask for, romance, edge-of-your-seat supsense, feel-good moments.

James is a more better option for Fallyn
Vince is pushy, doesn't really take no for answer, even worse he cheats on his gf with Fallyn, the list goes on
it felt like I was reading Romeo and Juliet except, at the end, they just un away from their families and let's not forget that the fmc always wanted to own a bakery shop, which did happened but now its all ruined because of some family feud so I feel bad for her

I got this book on SYKD.

Storyline is good and is what kept me interested but i could not tell you whose perspective this book is from at any given point.
It jumps from character to character, sometimes half way though a chapter and there doesn’t seem to be any definition to help figure it our.

This book was 2.5 stars and i wont be purchasing the next book to resolve what feels to be an unnecessary cliff hanger.

Great Reading!

I have never read a book by Tuesday Embers by I am a fan now. She has written a story that I just could not put down. I loved the characters and the though and witty banter was wonderful. Falling O'Keefe is the only girl in her family. She has 7 older brothers. They watch over her like a hawk. I sure enjoyed the way she stood her ground with them.

Amazing Story

I absolutely loved the story. All the characters are strong and well written but Fallyn is definitely my favorite. She is a badass woman who isn't afraid to go head to head with either her brothers or Vince. It is quite funny to see her interactions with her brothers. This book definitely left me wanting to read more

I love a good mafia story

This was my first book reader by Tuesday, Embers, and I'm in love with all her characters. This is a forbidden love story between two fighting families trying to clean up. Vince and fallyn relationship is one that you want to work out but between family duties and over ruling brothers. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Disappointing.

Kept waiting for this book to take off. It is a joke to call this a mafia romance. It should actually be called a romance with a hint of mafia involvement. This was very unrealistic. I regret paying for this.

Exploding: A Movistar Romance

I’m giving this a one star because it is a continuation for two more books. This book is worth a five star, but I would never never started reading this book. One of the best I’ve read in a very long time.

This was a little confusing. I assumed the story would he about Fal and Vince after reading the summary but the first half was about her and James. Halfway through it started to make sense. I def. Plan to read book 2.

I was into this until I got to the page where our heroine was in her bakery kitchen, baking for the public...in her bare feet. This coupled with the fact that I'd need to buy 2 more books to find out what happens....meh. I'm out. Gonna use the time to call the health inspector on her.
