Another sweet, low angst story by this author. Poor Aubrey. I cried so hard while reading this because I went through the same thing she did and I could totally feel her pain and I understood it well. My dad was my hero just as her dad was hers.

Noah is such an amazing H and the rock that Aubrey needed through that difficult time.

"I met Noah on the worst day of my life, and it turned out of the best thing to ever happy to me."

Hearts Ablaze is the debut novel from author Heather Lyn. I always get a little nervous when reading a brand new author because it's untested waters. It's like trying a new restaurant. You never know what you're getting. This book was amazing! This author was amazing!

Aubrey meets Noah in a bar while out with her roommate and best friend, Kennedy. Aubrey has just been given some devastating news and has zero plans of seeking out a man (for the night or forever). She knows that her family needs her and that's where she plans to be.

Noah isn't seeking out love but can't help himself when it comes to the beauty across the bar. He is drawn to Aubrey in every way. Deciding that friendship is better than nothing, he sets out of the best friend Aubrey could need. We all know how that goes.

Watch as Noah and Aubrey endure life, loss, and love and battle the ups and downs of life, together.

This book is very very insta-love. I don't mean that in a bad way by any means, a lot of my favorite authors write insta-love stories (Kelly Elliott, KC Lynn, Kaylee Ryan, Molly McLain etc), I only say this because if you are looking for something super angsty this is not the novel for you.

"Make sure you love fiercely, baby. Make sure you tell Noah every day just how much you love him. Cherish each other. And never forget how much I love you."

For this book that is a debut of the author it is a well written story. Noah is such a lovely guy who helps Aubrey trough a difficult time. The way they met and know each other can be happening in real life. I really like it and can’t wait to read more of Grayson and Kennedy who are the besties from the awesome couple. Good job, Heather!

I am emotionally and physically exhausted after reading this book. Such a great story. I was afraid at first that there would be a tremendous amount of pushing away but that was not the case.

HERO Noah was about as close to perfect as a hero can get for me. Patient, kind, loving, protective and sexy. He was what a woman strives to find in a man. He was there for Aubrey through some of the most difficult times of her life and was a steady rock.

HEROINE Aubrey ticked me off a time or two. I initially was not happy because she was pushing him away. However, what she was going through bought her some leniency from me. When she finally let him in and let herself be honest about her feelings, I was much happier

OW/OM DRAMA absolutely none

STEAM There was some steam but it wasn’t excessive

SEPARATION no long spans of separation

SECONDARY CHARACTERS I know that Grayson and Kennedy (their best friends) book is next but it seemed like there was going to be major pushing away. After this emotional ride and the pushing away in this book, I don’t know if I’m prepared to go down that route again. Plus I was ticked that Kennedy said that Grayson flirted with other women in front of her. That is not cool at all

VIOLENCE No violence at all

SAFETY Safe - neither are with others after meeting

ENDING I was sadly let down with the epilogue. 6 months out was nowhere near enough. I want their HEA and it just felt like a HFN ending. Brought my rating down

An honest relatable romance.

Heather Lyn is a genius with a pen. The writing in this book was honest, relatable, gritty and gut wrenching.

You need tissues to read this book. Aubrey is a highly emotional female going through a hell of a lot in her life when she meets Noah. Aubrey's relationship with her best friend Kennedy was hilarious, with her family was beautiful and painful.

Noah is an ordinary, everyday fireman with a heart of gold. He sticks by Aubrey when her world feels like its imploding. His relationship with best friend and fellow fireman Grayson was comical and endearing.

The book shows the journey through both Aubrey and Noah's eyes. It also leads way into the next story, giving a sense if continuity into the next book in the series.

I can't wait to see if Grayson or Kennedy have a story.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO READERS WHO LOVE ROMANCE, DRAMA, PAIN AND CRYING THROUGH A JOURNEY!

This debut novel was extremely well-written and fun to read. I completely fell in love with Noah and the way he feels for Aubrey. It definitely has some tender and emotional moments, but is not too heavy or depressing. I loved this book and can't wait for the rest of the series!!

If you are a fan of romance, you seriously need to one-click this book! There are no Alpha billionaires in this book. Instead, you get a sexy as hell firefighter who often wears his baseball cap backward and isn’t afraid to shed a tear or love his girl with all of his heart.
Aubrey meets Noah when she and her best friend Kennedy go out to a bar. They hit it off instantly and spend time together…as friends. Aubrey is going through a hard time and she finds herself turning to Noah over and over to find comfort. I love the build-up between the two.
The side characters are written very well into the storyline. Kennedy is Aubrey’s best friend. Grayson is Noah’s best friend. There were lots of hints that something might be taking place between these two. Grayson definitely added a few laughs to this book! I hope to get more of him in another book!
This book had a good amount of weepy moments for me; some sad but many were happy. I enjoyed the pace of the story. I was pulled into it during the first few minutes and could not put it down until I had finished it. The book is told in dual POVs which is always a favorite for me.
I am blown away that this is the author’s first book. I would compare this book to those by authors like Kaylee Ryan or Kelly Elliott. It is listed as contemporary romance but I think it would also fit well into new adult genre as well.

We have Aubrey who is dealing with the fact that her father is dying of cancer. Aubrey is the rock and support system of her family. She doesn't have time for relationships. One night while out with her best friend, Kennedy, she meets Noah who happens to be a firefighter. They hit it off but she won't let it go any further. They reconnect later on and decide to just be friends. Noah wants more but Aubrey can't commit which is understandable. After wards they decided they can't just be friends and give it a shot. This relationship moved way too fast for me. I have a very hard time with insta-love stories. Some people love them but I prefer the slow build and feeling that connection. In this book I couldn't feel that connection. The storyline with her father made the book for me. Those scenes were touching and did make me emotional. There is one scene in particular that you will need tissues. My heart broke. I also enjoyed the secondary characters Kennedy and Grayson. I'm hoping the next book will be about them! Overall, the writing was good, the story had a good flow. The plot kept me interesting. This author has a lot of potential and for a debut novel this wasn't bad at all!

This debut novel by Heather Lyn, is an exceptionally well written book. Heather has a writing style that is so captivating and gritty and I loved every word. This book will definitely require tissues, as Aubrey and her family are going through a heartbreaking event. An event which resonated with me as I have just gone through exactly the same thing. Noah is not only a hero in his fire fighting career but he is a romantic hero. He saves Aubrey from falling into despair.
Heather, from the front cover to the last word, you wowed me. I award 5 romantic stars and look forward to anything else you write. Congratulations on a wonderful debut novel. I am so happy to have been introduced to you!!!

"You've worked your way into my heart, baby, and I'm never letting you go. Don't you understand that? I'm falling so hard I don't think I could stop even if I tried."

What a sweet story! I loved Aubrey and Noah's story, and c'mon, he's a hot firefighter - how could I not love him?

Aubrey Stevens had just received devastating news. The last thing on her mind was love. She needs to deal with this, be there for her family - she can't afford distractions right now. Until him. A chance meeting in a bar where her only intention was to drown out the tragedy unfolding before her, turns out to happen at the worst time, but with the best possible results. He's a good man. A sexy man. And he's been there for her, wiping away every tear she's shed. But, when the worst happens, and she pushes him away, is it too late to fix it? Has she lost him forever, and along with it, her chance at happiness?

Noah Davis was drawn to her from the moment she literally ran into him in that bar. She was feisty and full of snark. She's made it clear that she can only give him friendship right now, but while he can live with that, he's going to do what he can to convince her to give them a chance. Just when things seem to be on solid ground, tragedy strikes and she pushes him away. Should he stand and fight for them, or walk away? She's the one for him - he knows it. Now, he just has to convince her that he's the one for her too.

This was my first read of Heather Lyn, but rest assured it will not be my last. Great characters, a heart-tugging story line, humor, love, steam, heartache, and heroics - it's all here!

Hot firefighter? check. Sweet school teacher? check. Emotional turmoil? check. All the elements of a first class romance, waiting for the next reader. But beware. There is definitely an ugly cry in there too. of course, that's balanced out by the lol's, so it's all good. it's hard to believe this is a first, because it ranks right up there with some of the best that I've ever read!

Talk about an emotional roller coaster this book just took me on. Sooo good! The heartbreak that Aubrey goes through, I felt that in my soul. And Noah.. sigh, Noah. He was there for her through it all even when she tried to push him away.
Safe read

Loved the characters, no normal drama as most books seem to have at the mo (broken characters / jerks as the mc or cheating with someone else etc) making it a big bonus for me!
Will definitely read more from this author

Noah.... all I can say is WOWZERS. He's swoony, hot, loving and a firefighter. There's nothing really more to say ♡♡

Aubrey... That poor girl. Getting that upsetting news really puts her through the emotions. You can't help but go through them with her. Because I certainly did ♡

I swooned, laughed and cried(alot) when reading this book. But it was so beautiful xx

I loved this. Lots of it was sad, but it was such a great story. They did break up for a few hours, or in the h's mind anyways, but it didn't last long and it was completely understandable. Great read.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

People could probably relate to Hearts Ablaze because it has real life situations. I adored this book and loved the connections between all the characters. I wish I could find me a Noah. Noah is charming, caring, understanding and is a hot ass firefighter. Need a good ugly cry and ready for an emotional rollercoaster then Hearts Ablaze is a story worth reading. I ugly cried but it was so worth it. Have a box of tissues nearby. I hope we get to see the other characters in their own book.

Aubrey is a preschool teacher and just got some bad news about her father's health. She goes out with her best friend Kenni to a bar to blow off some steam. She's not looking for a relationship. She literally bumps into a handsome guy and dances with him. After realizing she made a mistake she leaves and goes home. No names and no numbers are exchanged.Noah is a firefighter and out with his best friend Grayson at a new country bar. After being ran into and ditched by a girl, he cannot get her out of his head now. Aubrey's class goes on a field trip to a fire station. She never thought she would see "him" again. It seems that fate has intervened. Noah and Aubrey are both stubborn about their feelings but eventually a friendship turns into a relationship. Noah becomes Aubrey's rock during her father's final months of living. But Aubrey becomes overwhelmed with everything and breaks it off with Noah. Will there be a happily ever after for Noah and Aubrey?

4 1/2 out of 5 stars

An amazing debut book! I enjoy finding new authors especially when they are good and Ms Lyn is good! I was impressed while reading and didn’t even know it was her first book until I went to post the review on Goodreads. This story was well thought out and I enjoyed watching the characters grow and relate to each other. I was able to relate to the entire storyline and feel what the characters were feeling.

Noah & Aubrey find each other just as Aubrey is facing her biggest challenge in learning that her dad is dying. It’s an instant attraction, but Aubrey doesn’t feel like she can start dating so she leaves Noah at the club without another word. Later they reconnect, but Noah promises to just be her friend and support without expecting more. It doesn’t take long before they both learn that's not going to be enough.

As the story goes along, they fight for each other and their love shines. I really enjoyed watching them interact with Aubrey’s family and seeing so many sides of them as people. Really great character development!

Can’t wait to see how Kennedy and Grayson get their heads out of their butts and finally succumb to what spent this whole novel building!

Hearts Ablaze by Heather Lyn forms part of he Hearts on Fire series. It grabs you from the very beginning and doesn't let you go til the very end. It. makes you feel one million emotions throughout and I doubt you'll go unscathed without shedding at least a few tears.

Aubrey is a very strong and capable, independent woman, who is put to the ultimate test upon learning about her fathers illness and what this means for her family.

Noah is a handsome and loyal firefighter who just happens to be what Aubrey needs if only she can move away from the "distraction" title she has given him.

Aubrey and Noah learn so much about themselves and each other through their journey and I was swept up along for the ride. The way that Heather brings these characters to life is amazing and you really get a sense of who they are and feel for the the more I to the story you get.

I very well thought out, heart provoking story.

I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.

The story itself was an interesting one. I enjoyed how it unraveled from her hitting a low and Noah being there in the way she needed. Nothing was over the top. I'm intrigued about what will happen with Grayson and Kennedy.

There was repetitive detail that occasionally pulled me from the story. The idea flow was good and I certainly think there's potential for this new-to-me author. I'm looking forward to seeing how the next book improves.

Right from the start we are thrust in to heartbreaking situation. I've been there and it was easy to relate with.

With loveable characters and a fast paced storyline this was a very enjoyable read. I loved both Noah and Aubrey and the connection that they formed. Right from the first meeting their banter was spot on and while at times it seemed forced, it still had a decent flow to it.

The secondary characters were pleasant and I can't wait to read more from this series. I also liked all the southern grammar that was use, it had a great southern feel to it.

Something's were a little unbelievable, like she is in walking distance of his work in their town and never met or seen each other.

Sometimes the way they talked seemed a little out of place, but then I think it's a southern thing with talking very proper.

Fans of instalove type romances will really enjoy this book. It has its heartbreaking moments, but it also has its cute funny moments.

I received this book from Quirky Blind Date with a book for November.

I really enjoyed the story, it was a sweet friends to lovers romance.

Noah was a great character. Always the gentleman and charmer. Aubrey was strong in the face of a family tragedy. I loved the relationship between Aubrey and her dad, and the relationship that builds between Noah and her dad. It was very sweet.

The only problem I had was the writing. It was well written, but everyday minute details were written out and it just made the reading drag a little. It could have been more concise with fewer details of everyday tasks and I think it would have worked better for me. I found myself skimming some parts because of this.

All in all I did enjoy the book though. The characters were great. I will keep an eye on this author :)

Where do I start! This book pulled lots of heart strings for me. I've been through the same situation as Aubrey, being only 16 when I lost my mother to cancer. It's so ironic because only two weeks before I lost my mother I started dating my now husband and we have 3 kids today. She's missed all my biggest moments in life but she will always be in my heart and I know she's watching me from above.

I didn't know what I was getting into when I started this book but I'm sure happy I did. I caught myself crying uncontrollably many times throughout. A beautiful love story with lessons of love and life, real life. Cherish your family and the people you love! You never know when it's their last breath.

Heather Lyn thanks for delivering such a heart melting story that touched my heart so much!!

Heather Lyn is a new author to me and this debut novel of hers is bloody brilliant! I loved every part and it may have helped that there is an extremely hot fireman in it! Hands off ladies cos Noah is mine lol

Aubrey and Noah meet when Aubrey is going through a tough time. There is an instant attraction between them but Aubrey doesn't want to get involved with anyone at the moment so they decide to just be friends but neither of them can fight the attraction for long. Will Aubrey let Noah in or will she push him away at a time when he could be the one person who can help her through her bad times.

A fabulous first novel by Heather Lyn and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
