The basic story is that of time travel. Scalians are aliens that have sent a probe back through a wormhole to the Amazon jungle, where their automated systems capture two humans, and a further one tries to rescue them by smuggling himself into the capsule. He then ends up 3000 years in the future, and finds the Scalians, who have been at was with humans, are intending to wipe out humanity. There is a bit of Scalian religion driving this, and . . .

The Scalian Legacy is a sci-fi book that will keep you entertained throughout the entire story. Norbert Monford does a great work in creating a bunch of different scenarios and describing them in a very vivid way, allowing your imagination to go on full speed.
This is also a story about family and love. Don’t let the aliens take your entire attention. Jack is our main character that embarks on an adventure to save his brother, who just happens to have been kidnapped by aliens in the middle of th

In general, I will spurn a science fiction book once I see the words aliens or space travel in the summary. That specific sci-fi focus rarely captures my attention, even when written by authors who are brilliant at their craft. The Scalian Legacy by Norbert Monfort snuck up on me and somehow managed to have me furiously turning the pages (or clicking the next arrow as the case may be). So much so that I have my fingers crossed that Monfort brings these characters and the engrossing universe in w ...more

Captivating and thrilling

Wow! It’s been awhile since I could say I truly enjoyed a science fiction book! I really couldn’t put this book down, I was held captive for three and a half hours as I had to know how it ended! It’s fast paced and a definite page turner as you follow Jack Felder on a wild intergalactic adventure to rescue his kidnapped brother, sounds easy(ish) right? Wrong! His adventure turns into a crazy, sometimes dangerous galaxy fight that is far bigger than Jack ever imagined! T

Are you a Sci-Fi novel fan? If you are then this novel is definitely for you. The Scalian Legacy: Victory Before The War is a Sci-Fi novel about two brothers and two different worlds.
There are quite a few novels and movies, which were made in the past two decades that talk about the same problem. This problem goes like this: our planet Earth was attacked either by some unknown force or by some nasty half-alien creatures that want to use the entire humankind (or what is left of it) and the plane

I always enjoy seeing what authors think future Earth will be like whether it’s because of a war or the aliens get sick of our crap and decide to finally not only visit us, but also take over the planet. All that aside, our story takes place in the far off future. The Earth is fine in the one but a far off planet doesn’t get as lucky.

Our character Jack is blissfully unaware and chilling one day in the Amazon when his brother is abducted. This naturally leads Jack on an adventure in an effort to

This science-fiction novel by Norbert Monfort takes the reader on Jack Felder’s adventure to rescue his kidnapped brother.
While Felder is enjoying his time journeying through the Amazon, he learns of his brother’s mysterious disappearance. His journey takes him on many twists and turns as he works to rescue his brother. However, this isn’t the only thing he must do. Felder’s journey to rescue his brother ends up turning into something even bigger.
It’s a very interesting novel. Its descriptions

I am not a hardcore sci-fi fan and this book was excellent for me. It still has some obvious sci-fi elements like futuristic setting, aliens, spaceships and impending doom on all of the humanity, but the author doesn't focus solely on that. The story also has an interesting family dynamic between characters, and family sci-fi story is something I don't usually encounter very often. While I mentioned the character, I really liked Jack as the protagonist, he is everything you can expect from a her ...more

“The Scalian Legacy: Victory Before the War” is Norbert Monfort’s science fiction, action and thriller styled novel that keeps you along for the ride with Jack as he tries to save his brother. I love that this isn’t the typical trope of boy meets girl scenario and that it is more focused on family and the importance of the relationships we are born with. The story starts out with a relatively normal setting, but as more and more situations begin to pack onto what Jack has to do to save his broth ...more

Nothing like starting the weekend by travelling through the Amazon with your brother and ended up in a colossal battle to decide the fate of the universe… Wait what?
As huge as this climatic adventure is, the real message comes down to what really matters: family and Jake vows to never hesitate and won’t stop at anything to rescue his brother.
Even so, the odds are far menacing than it appears and a fierce battle that is taking place far away from Earth, starts affecting our universe a

If you are a young adult or a science fiction newbie, The Scalian Legacy: Victory Before the War by Norbert Monfort is an excellent book to add to your list. It features all the great science fiction genre features: other planets, aliens, time travel, etc. But, it is not heavy-handed for those who have not read much science fiction to be put off by (or to not understand). Trust me – I am a science fiction newbie myself.

With that being said, alien abductions are cool, but I was much more drawn i

The Scalian Legacy: Victory Before the War by Norbert Monfort is a classic example of science fiction. Aliens, alternate worlds, and galaxies solidly form the foundation for this easy to read novel. When Jack Felder is enjoying a trip to the Amazon, he learns that his brother has been kidnapped. Felder's mission to find his brother turns into an extraordinary adventure, and one that he never could have anticipated. The story explores all the things that make science fiction great, the origins of ...more

The Scalian Legacy shows how far one man would go to save his brother from aliens. Jack was first amazed that the alien’s space craft didn’t detach him digging under the force field, but when he was able to ride in the leg hub he questioned the true intelligence of these aliens. Just as they doubted he was from earth and not an enemy spy.

Norbert Monfort lays the foundation of the Felder brothers and the bond that Jack had with the eldest, Robbie. They had more in common than Kenny, w

This book hits the ground running and brings the reader along for the ride. There was no slow start with this one, you jump right in feet first at the first chapter. I found that from the very beginning I was pulled into the story and wanted to know what was going to happen. The author does a wonderful job of creating a well detailed story with plenty of excitement. I could easily place myself in the locations that the author described making each line feel real. It didn’t take long before I fou ...more

While a lot of sci-fi books play with the concepts of aliens, other worlds, and galaxies. None do it like The Scalian Legacy. I especially enjoyed how this story played with our own sort of real world timeline.

Two brothers take a trip to the Amazon and it turns into a bit of a epic space adventure. This sci-fi adventure novel will have you captivated from the beginning to end. I started reading the book late one night, only expecting to read a few pages. Turned into an hour or two of

Jack Felder is the brother we all wish we had. Robbie, his brother, gets taken and Jack is on a mission to get him back, little does he know he will be on much more of a mission then ever expected.
Even though he and his brother were on Earth, Jack gets pulled into a battle of the ages that involves the whole universe. No pressure right? There are many civilizations within the galaxy that have been keep Earth safe and sound thus far, but now Jack but defy the odds to save Robbie and Earth as we

A sci-fi thriller

This is a good sci-fi action adventure. What would you do to save your brother? JACK must save his brother at any cost which leads him on a crazy adventure landing him in the middle of an epic battle with other worlds and many lives hinging on the results. A good adventure and an easy read. If you like sci-fi you will love this one. Take it for a read and travel the galaxy with Jack.

This story has potential. The writing is amateurish, but it was a fairly interesting plot, and I enjoyed the take on different civilizations. It could certainly use some fine-tuning, however.
