I love reading with children, especially my nieces (and of course my nephew, but he’s only one, so not as into it :). I really enjoyed what Glenys Nellist did with her first of this series, Love Letters From God and jumped at the chance to share about the one geared towards girls.

What a great book addition to have for the young girls in your life! I love what each section provides. There’s the story of a woman from the bible and the lessons we learn from them (from Eve to Rahab to Miriam to the

One of my favorite quotes from this beautiful picture book is, "God clapped his hands in delight as Eve opened her eyes for the very first time." Inside you will discover 14 inspiring stories about these amazing women of God, such as 'The Trusting Girl,' 'The Brave Girl,' and 'The Hopeful Girl.' Ages 4-8 will be delighted to engage in a fun hands-on activity of lifting the flap to read a personal warm and loving message from God. The charming illustrations are filled with wonder, beauty, and pea ...more

I love this book. Glenys has chosen several wonderful stories about women, in the Bible, to retell. She's written each one in easy to understand language and shows that God values girls as the daughters he's created. The lift-the-flap letters from God are encouraging and uplifting. Rachel's artwork is just lovely. The colors, drawings, and ephemera she uses to create each piece goes beautifully with each girl's story. As my daughters grew up I wanted them to know that God loved them and valued t ...more

My daughter and I have both checked out this cool book for girls.
She likes that it has stories about girls and women from the bible that she has learned about in Sunday School and Awana. She always gets excited when she recognizes one they have just studied. She also loves to read the personal letters from God to her. She is currently using it for her morning devotional read.

I like that it catches my daughter's attention, that she enjoys reading it and can learn something from it. I also like th

A girls heart is utterly precious. It longs to know and feel love. To know that she is cherished. Especially by God. As I've been curating my daughter's book collection, I have been searching for books that will help her to know those things instinctively. When we stumbled across Snuggle Time Psalms by Glenys Nellist, I knew we were on to something! Then we got to read Christmas Love Letters from God: Bible Stories and I was completely in love with Nellist's writing.

I have often sat in worship service or at Bible study and heard the comment, "The Bible is God's love letter to you." And that is very true but we tend to relegate that choice phrase to the background of our memories and read the Bible without completely realizing that it is, in fact, God's love letter to us. To you. To me. To each and every man, woman, child.

The author has carried that thought to fruition in an absolutely lovely book for girls. She has taken the stories of 14 women or girls in

Love Letters from God, Bible Stories for a Girl’s Heart, by Glenys Nellist is endearing, wonderful, chocked filled with virtue, and beautifully illustrated. Nellist shares with us fourteen stories from the Bible, centered on heroic females, highlighting their good traits. She takes us from the Old Testament, through to the New Testament; giving us a different story about each protagonist, salient Bible quotes, and most importantly, personalized letters from God, addressed to your child (with lif ...more

I love the premise of Love Letters from God: Bible Stories for a Girl’s Heart! An inspirational and fun book for young girls aged 4-8 that showcases females in the Bible and how their stories relate to the young reader’s lives.

The set-up of the various Biblical stories is neat and organized. Each section consists of two pages, including a Bible story, verse, lovely illustration, and a flip-up love letter from God. Each letter has a blank space to fill in a name to make it personalized.

Glenys Nellist's Love Letters from God: Bible Stories for a Girl's Heart is a beautiful, full-size hardbound of thirty-two pages with fifteen lift-the-flap note cards targets young girls four to eight years old. Having no scary scenes, it's a compilation of fourteen rewritten Bible stories about women taken from the New International Reader's Version. What a lovely, lovely book. Such a tender attitude that comes through. The illustrations are beautiful and feminine; pleasing to the eye. Each Bible story has a personal note attached where you can add the girl's name to make it even more personal. All done in a quality kind of way, no cheap feel to it at all.
Now I have to be honest, it did give me a bit of a hesitation when I read some of the stories and they weren't 100% accurate according to scripture. But what a good starting point if you w

I always wanted to be strong and brave, standing up when the trouble comes and to shoo it away, but the though that girls cann’t be nothing special and courages was what I saw growing up.

Those women of the Bible showed it otherwise. They don’t have to wield a sword nor fight the giants nor slay the enemy, but what they had is courage, a beauty that was intertwined with the faith in God even in the face of fear and adversary. Nothing stopped them from being victorious, nor famine, nor flood, nor

First, the disclaimer. "I was provided a free copy of this book. All opinions are my own." That done, LOVE LETTERS FROM GOD; BIBLE STORIES FOR A GIRL'S HEART is a sweet collection about biblical women who served God in some way. The stories are NOT biblically correct, but they are fictionalized, and they do make nice, heart-warming stories to read with your favorite daughter, grand-daughter, niece, god-daughter, or even a child you are providing child-care for. They include a letter "from God" t ...more

Love Letters from God: Bible Stories for a Girl’s Heart has wonderful reminders of God’s love for us and how He has shown it. It not only uses actual letters from God but also Bible stories to back up what He’s told us since time began.

This a great book to share as a devotional with the girls you love or even as a storybook to reinforce what is already known… for you and the little ones.

This was cute. Each story has a special letter to open. I found that it was longer than most Bible story books I'd read. I enjoyed it though.

I received a copy for free from the publisher to review. My thoughts and opinions are my own.

My 5 year old Allie really loves this book!  She adores the bright colored illustrations, and loves how each story is personalized just for her!  The lift up flap is Allie’s favorite part of the stories — as it makes her feel so very special.  You can see how much her face lights up after each story — she definitively can sense GOD love for her from these stories!

Glenys Nellist has done it again. Her book are magnificent. There are fourteen Bible stories, each two page spread has the original text in the Bible sited, as well as Nellist's own wording on that story to help the reader to see the story in a different light. To help the girls reading this to see God's love. There is a Bible text (not linked to the Bible story itself but to the concept) and then a little lift the flap love letter that feels like it is written from God.

I'm an author of twelve books for children, including two best-selling series: Love Letters from God and Snuggle Time. Here's my little story...

Although I live in Michigan, USA, I was born and raised in a little village in northern England.

I grew up in a big old house, with two wonderful parents and seven siblings. My dad was the one who introduced me to the gospel. My mum was the one who encourag
