What more could you ask for in a book? Hot alpha(s), strong, stubborn woman, love, passiong, Steamy scenes? I tell you what...H.I.S has ALL of this and MORE! This book keeps you guessing til the very end. The suspense was killing me half the time, my heart pounded...I swear I almost cried at a few places as well. I found it super hard to put it down and return to normal every day life.
The Hamilton brothers are all super sexy, but Jesse, head and founder of H.I.S, is the hottest of them all. Who doesn't want a man to protect them? Kate. That's who. Little miss stubborn FBI Agent. But as the case gets more urgent and dangerous she really has no choice but to accept the help of Jesse and his H.I.S team.
Though it was a bumpy road for the pair from the beginning, being they didn't particularly get along, they made it through the book without killing each other :)

Sheila Kell's first novel, HIS Desire, has me hooked on Romantic Suspense novels now! The book had me guessing until the very end, and then still surprised me. She also managed to keep the suspense high, and the romantic tension between Kate and Jesse even higher. I fell in love with Jesse and his tough, yet sweet charm. I loved reading about a tough female character, too.
Sheila also managed to draw you in to both their lives and by then end you felt as if you knew the two of them for years. The way she melted her scenes into one another, you learned about Kate's friends, her job, and her family so well, and Jesse's wonderful family too. There were many lines that had me laughing out loud. I loved how she weaved details together so quietly, then sprang them back at you when needed.
I did not want the book to end, but I am glad there will be a lot more HIS novels to feed my hunger! I look forward to reading about all the HIS men, and know Sheila will not disappoint!

Thoroughly enjoyed this suspenseful roller coaster ride of a story. It keeps you guessing until the end. The way she weaves the story makes the reader so invested in the characters. The first time author hit this one out of the park. I can't wait for more from her!

Working with AJ as FBI agents, brings Kate into contact with Jesse, AJ's eldest brother and head of HIS security.Both feel an instant attraction, but neither act on it. WHen a case that both the FBI and HIS are dealing with turns deadly, and it looks like Kate is the target, Jesse steps up with HIS security to ptotect Kate. And thrown together, they finally give in. But both are carrying secrets, will they be able to overcome them?
I came across Sheila Kell on Facebook a while back, I'm not quite sure how but I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this book. I was delighted to be asked to read it ahead of its publication. I was not disappointed :-)
Kate is a strong willed, confident woman, and I loved her! She wont let this case stand in her way, nor will she let Jesse. Jesse is equally strong willed and determined to keep Kate safe. Their attraction smoulders and simmers and bubbles and hisses under the surface for much of the book and its quite late in the book when they finally, blissfully, come together! Ordinarily, I do like my books on the more explicit side. However, I have had a run of books that, while are hot, and sexy and steamy, are not so explicit, and I have thoroughly enjoyed them. THIS is such a book.
Its well written, from both Kate and Jesse's points of view, along with one other main character (who I'm not saying!) It has a plot twist I did not see coming, no ma'am, not in a million years would I have seen THAT one! The suspense builds, right to the end, and THAT is a good thing. All too often, either I get who-dunnit or its revealed far too early, for my liking. But not here. Kate reaction to that twist threw me slightly, and she has a bigger heart than I do!
What I particularly liked was the laying down of future books. There are 5 brothers, Jesse, AJ, Matt, Brad and Devon. These all play a part in this book, and some subtle (and some not-so-subtle) hints are made in this book, with regards to Devon's story, and Aj's. There is also an adopted brother, Jake, who plays no part, but is mentioned. I am absolutely gonna follow these boys, and their ladies, because I have ideas about the who/what/when/why with the future plot lines, and I wanna see how they play out.
A stand alone, but as part of a series, this is the first of the HIS books, and when future books come out, it would be helpful to have read previous books, but not necessary.

Sheila Kell’s debut novel, HIS Desire, starts off her writing career with a bang! HIS Desire is a romantic suspense novel that keeps you guessing from page one. Jesse Hamilton, a former FBI agent, is head of Hamilton Investigation Security, Inc. (H.I.S.). Kate Ross is a FBI Special Agent who is partnered with Jesse’s brother, A.J. Hamilton. She is injured in a drive-by shooting. Jesse becomes her bodyguard when he fears her life is being targeted by a ‘hit man’ known as the Facilitator.
Kate fights Jesse’s desire to be her bodyguard but eventually gives in. He truly believes she is the intended target because the Facilitator believes she is an important part of Jesse’s life. Quite a bit of bantering back and forth occurs as Kate finally succumbs to Jesse becoming her bodyguard.
Jesse moves into Kate’s home. We see the tension between the two characters build as they begin to get to know one another better. We learn about their families and the losses both of them have incurred. Kate shares her past with Jesse but he refuses to share his secret with her.
As they begin to develop deep feelings for one another, the Facilitator continues to deliver notes and packages that produce deadly results. Ms. Kell has you on the edge of your seat as she takes you down the road with twists and turns until we discover who is behind the Facilitator and what Jesse truly fears.
HIS Desire is an action filled page turner. I was invested in the story from the get-go. The characters were well developed and the plot unfolded at a steady pace. I highly recommend HIS Desire and look forward to the next installment of H.I.S novels. I would like to disclose that I received an advanced copy of HIS Desire in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This was an exciting book which I thoroughly enjoyed reading, it was an rollercoaster of emotions for me ( would have loved to be the leading lady, lol) . It had me guessing till the end and what a twist that was, would never have guessed the end. I loved the characters and was fully into the book by the second page and couldn't put it down. I love Sheila Kell writing style and can't wait for more from her. This is a 5 start rating book for me.

wow what a difference. I've not read books like this before. hot mmm. the way the storyline comes together because of the threat to her life ended up bringing her happiness. so can't wait for the next book.

Being a tour host for Hot Tree Promotions, I was granted the chance to sign up to be apart of this fabulous tour. When I signed up to read and review this title, I had no idea that this was the author’s debut novel, not that it would have affected my decision either way. My choice was based on the fact that this title came under the romantic suspense genre. By now you can guess I an avid fan of this genre.
On completing this title I have to say that Ms. Kells got it right. ‘H.I.S. Desire’ has the right blend of suspense, action, drama and romance to keep you entertained to the very end. It had me turning the pages as I was eager to find out what was coming next. It had me guessing at every turn as to who the villain was. Just when you think you have it figured out there comes a twist that has you guessing once again. When the villain was revealed I was like WTH! At first I did consider that this person may be guilty, but pushed it aside as I did not think it possible.
The story is well written and the character development is good. The characters were likeable and it was easy to connect with them. They have issues that readers can relate to on some level. The interaction between the main characters is filled with so much sexual tension, it’s a wonder my kindle is still intact. It is clear that Jesse and Kate are attracted to each other, but they are not willing to give into their attraction. Jesse was not looking for a long term relationship. He was afraid to give his heart, having suffered the loss of his wife under tragic circumstances. Jesse blamed himself for the loss and as a result, he felt compelled to protect Kate at all cost. Kate is independent and is used to fending for herself as such she was not too inclined to have Jesse shadowing her every move in a bid to protect her. There were times when her stubbornness proved to be detrimental to her and others around her. It was good to see her coming to grips with the fact that Jesse was only trying to keep her safe and it was not his intention to make her life uncomfortable.
This book is the first in the H.I.S series and it can be read as a standalone. This is a great start to the series and I can’t wait to see what next Ms. Kell has in store for her fans.

I love a good romantic suspense story that is filled with hot alpha military and agents to hook my hero star upon and a strong female lead to inspire me. The Hamilton brothers, especially Jesse, and Kate were therefore a welcomed casting for this book.
Kate is an FBI agent alongside her partner AJ Hamilton and it is through AJ she comes to meet his brother Jesse, himself an ex agent and now chief of the Hamilton Investigation and Security (H.I.S) Their interactions at best are full of lustful, lingering looks and at worst full of seething annoyance. However when Kate is the victim of a drive by shooting, Jesse steps up to the plate to become her bodyguard. As you can imagine a headstrong FBI agent is not happy to go along with this which leads to some heated and tenacious stand offs. But Jesse is convinced that the threat is all too real and to do with his investigations into The Facilitator, a deadly assassin.
The storyline then takes the reader on a journey of suspense and thrills with plenty of curveballs thrown in to keep the reader guessing throughout the plot. This was extremely well executed and I for one did not envision the ending once the villain was revealed.
There was plenty of heat and tension in the chemistry between Kate and Jesse and I loved their sensual interactions, however the action did not pick up on the romance element until well into the second half of the book, so for me this read was more of a suspense with romance added in.
None the less it was still an enjoyable read and I loved the world building of H.I.S and the secondary characters, especially the Hamilton brothers who I look forward to reading about in future books. Four stars.

When we first meet Kate and Jesse, they don't exactly get along. Jesse comes across as quite arrogant whereas Kate isn't prepared to accept his attitude and so dishes out one of her own. As the story gets going and you understand more about how these two know each other and the details behind H.I.S. then it just rockets away. The story is fast paced, well written and plotted out to the nth degree which shows in how it flows.
Although this story can be read as a standalone, I personally am reading it as the first in a series because, believe me, I'm hooked. I want to know ALL the brother's (and Emily's) stories - why doesn't Devon go out in the field, is AJ going to be okay, did Rylee and Devon meet in Vegas, and that's just to name a few of the questions this book has left me with. To become that invested from the first book means its a winner for me.
This book is not an insta-love book (thank goodness!), insta-lust yes, but not insta-love. That grows steadily as both our main characters work through their issues, not the least of which is that someone is trying to kill one or both of them. You will be following the story along with baited breath as you try to figure out "whodunnit" but the twists at the end are jaw-droppingly excellent.
First in a series, first by this author - excellent all round Romantic Suspense. Highly recommended.

H.I.S. Desire is a fast-paced romantic suspense with just the right mix of intrigue and romance. The chemistry between Kate and Jesse is volatile, swinging from heated arguments to fan-worthy lust in a heartbeat. All the characters are well written and the plot moves quickly, keeping the reader engaged and guessing.
I LOVED H.I.S. Desire and can't wait to read the rest of the books in the H.I.S. series. Fabulous debut novel, Ms. Kell. Keep them coming!

A interesting story line that promises to continue to be entertaining in upcoming books, as well as keeping you on the edge of your seat, or bed, because of the steamy content. H.I.S. can investigate for me anytime!

I was gifted this book for an honest review, and I have to say honestly that I had a hard time putting it down. FBI Agent Kate Ross and her partner AJ Hamilton are the best of friends; the only downside is that she cannot stand AJ’s brother Jesse who co –owns H.I.S. or Hamilton Investigation and Security, Inc., with the rest of his brothers.
Unfortunately a case has brought Kate and Jesse closer together than she ever wanted to get. This story has so many twists and turns that it will keep you on the edge of your seat. Just as you think you have figured out who the killer is you are completely wrong. Don’t get me wrong there are plenty of sex scenes that will leave you wanting more.
Now I could go into more details but should I?? This is a must get and read but as a warning make sure that you do not have any interruptions or you just might end up killing someone yourself.

FBI agent, Kate Ross is constantly having to prove herself to her partner’s brother, Jesse, an ex-FBI agent. They seem to have a love hate relationship going on. Jesse uses it to cover up the fact that he’s attracted to Kate and Kate is determined not to let Jesse know she is attracted to him. This makes for a very violate atmosphere every time the two are in the same room. Matters came to a head when Kate is shot while in Jesse’s company, then when Kate is almost killed by a bomb going off in Jesse’s SUV, he is so traumatized, he has to acknowledge his true feelings for Kate. Who's trying to kill Kate or is Jesse the target? Filled with suspenseful drama and lots of raw emotions, this story will have you turning the pages rapidly. The shower sex scene had me, LOL. You’ll have to get the book to find out.

What a great book from new author Sheila Kell.
Jesse is an alpha male who is set on getting his own way, and he had his sights set on Kate. She however was not use to being told what she could do and when. She is strong headed and wants to be loved.

I love that H.I.S is a family run business and we got a small glimpse of the family. I cant wait to read more about the brothers and their lives. I hope that Kate and Jesse are featured in the other books too.

Jesse is an alpha male who is set on getting his own way, and he had his sights set on Kate. She however was not use to being told what she could do and when. She is strong headed and wants to be loved.

I received this as an A.R.C for an honest review, this is the first book that I have read by this author and it was definitely a pleasure.
Kate is an FBI agent, her partner is AJ Hamilton and they have a great working relationship. That can not be said for Kate and AJ’s brother Jessie. Whenever these two are in a room together, Jessie always talks down to Kate and belittles her, this then gets her temper up and she thinks he is an ass!! Jessie does this because he is attracted to Kate, but Jessie has a love them and leave them rule and he knows Kate is not that type of girl, so he has to keep her on the defensive so that he is not tempted to kiss her.
One day after getting her coffee from a local coffee house, Kate runs into Jessie on the street, just as they start to speak, she is shot by a drive-by gunman, she was not injured too badly because Jessie knocked her down out of the gunman’s way.
Jessie then receives a threatening note on his car after being at Kate’s house and he believes that Kate is in danger because of him so Jessie tells her that he is going to protect her. Kate of course declines his offer but Jessie is insistent and gets his way.
This story is full of red hot chemistry, alpha males, suspense, attempted murder and love. The story is well written that much so that I was kept guessing till the end as to Who Did It!! What a Fantastic read Sheila Kell. I am so looking forward to the 2nd instalment as my taste buds have been tantalised by the Hamilton Brothers.

This is an exciting romantic suspense that pulls you along until the last page and then throws you again!
Take a storyline full of suspense and romantic tension that keeps me guessing until the end but then still managed to surprise me. Add in a Hot, Sexy Alpha Male and a Strong, Stubborn woman are my idea of the perfect characters. Combine that with loving, passionate steamy sex scenes and this book is like winning the lottery! Jesse’s tough but sweet charm had me instantly falling for him. The way Sheila Kell crafts this story had me so engrossed with the characters that I was on a rollercoaster of emotions. I laughed and cried. I couldn’t put it down until the end. I can’t wait to read more about the Hamilton Brothers. I highly recommend you read this book.

Interesting very interesting. Have some lingering questions I hope later books in the series can answer such as what is the underlying tension with AJ and Jesse about? Why doesn’t Devon go in the field? What happened to Devon to have him make the quiet comment or I Dont remember?
The biggest thing you will see besides the two main characters moving on from their guilt by finding love with another is the lengths people go for money and greed. Here it isn’t a power thing about money and greed. Greed for one but the greed isn’t about money it’s about life and getting back the life you want that you think you deserve.
Jesse is a tough guy but a softie on the inside. He has guilt about his wife’s death. Such that he closed off a piece of himself. A piece that Kate is getting to. He is protecting kate from a killer a hired assassin named the facilitator. Using all resources he has within his company and his brother at the FBI where Kate works they are with her 24/7. As him and Kate are together they grow close and the attraction does as well. Both hesitant to do anything. One because of guilt of a wife’s death and the other self doubt. As the danger forces them to get closer they begin to relent to their feelings only each is afraid. Afraid the other doesn’t feel the same. So it stays hidden until a near death proves too much and they both submit.
Each character in this story is multitwo-dimensional and has some background that motivates them. It helps to make them more captivating. Jesse has his wife’s death. Devon whatever happened when a CIA agent, Kate her biological parents death, AJ not sure but there is something, Kate’s sister money, the facilitator Jesse’s ruin of his life or what he perceives as him ruining his life, Mary the abuse from her ex and even Josh is motivated his is love. Each character is shown as passionate, smart and independent but they work together when needed.
The story is multi-faceted. Sheila Kell layers those facets so that you send them but not so that they glare out at you. There are nuances to the facets. All the layers intertwine. Jesse’s guilt keeps him from getting close to people but the shooting has him feel guilt because it’s to exact revenge or so he thinks, this gets him protecting kate while they catch the bad guys. This leads to their closeness and also seeing the dynamics of the other characters.
A interesting story in which the romance is there but not hit you on the head there, the intensity is addictive, the mystery of who it is becomes a must know and not one you can figure out right away leaving you devouring the pages to find out who and why. A great suspense story with a romantic aspect that leaves a smile soon the face.

This is my first book by Sheila Kell and I really liked it. It had a good pace and the characters are believable. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

FBI Special Agent Kate Ross is thrown together with ex-FBI agent Jesse Hamilton, now working for a private security firm called H.I.S. They are tracking down a hitman known as The Facilitator. The Facilitator has a personal vendetta against Jesse, but, for some unknown reason, is targeting Kate. Who has hired the notorious hitman, and who is the actual target?
There's a lot of conflict and action in this fast-paced, romantic, mystery thriller. I loved Kate and Jesse's characters and the steamy dynamics between the two. They each have suffered past tragedies, which has caused hem to close off their hearts to love and the consequences of giving your soul to another person. There were plenty of secondary characters, and my favorites were Reagan, Jesse's daughter, and A.J., Jesse's brother and Kate's partner. It appears the next book in the series will be dealing with A.J. Hamilton.
And talk about a bunch of hunky men carrying firearms. I love them. As plot twists go, about one third of the way into the book, I had a niggling idea of who the ultimate villain was, so there were no surprises on that front.
What I didn't like were all the redundancies as Kate and Jesse sorted out their feelings. A good copy editor would have helped eliminate these issues, along with the lack of commas.
I really enjoyed this book and recommend it for people who like mystery thrillers. I give it 4 feathers.

I'd like to start by saying this was a great read and I recommend that you put this on your to be read list. It didn't take long for me to enter the world of Kate and Jesse. A great First novel for Sheila and the best Indie Author I've read for a while.
I look forward with anticipation to the next book in the H.I.S. Series.

Wow, what a suspenseful book! I was so on edge for all of this! I feel like i got lost in this book and I just can''t find my way out of the story. I can't get the Hamilton boys out of my head! I am very excited for this series. With a start like this I am hooked. Jesse is amazing and so protective. I loved his character from the start. Kate is great too. I love that she didn't just lay down and say protect me. She is strong too and when the two but heads it makes the book that much more interesting. I was on edge and guessing the whole book. Not just wondering if they would catch the killer but if they would ever get past their differences. I loved this. I think you all will too! A great read and one that you will have a hard time putting down!

Oh my! HIS Desire is the amazing debut novel by author Sheila Kell. HIS Desire is a romantic suspense novel that will draw you in from the beginning until you reach the end of the book. The main characters, Jesse Hamilton and Kate Ross, have known each other for quite a while. Jesse is a former FBI agent and now head of Hamilton Investigation Security, Inc. (H.I.S.) Kate is an FBI agent and partner to AJ Hamilton: Jesse’s brother. Whenever Jesse and Kate encounter one another, there is nothing but tension, arguments and plenty of insults. What happens when Jesse saves Kate from a drive-by shooter? Against Kates will, he becomes her bodyguard and protector - he believes she is the intended target because the shooter thinks that she is important to Jesse: the shooter thinks he loves her. Kate keeps denying Jesse’s protection because she thinks he is the intended target.
As they are together all the time, we get to know more about Jesse and Kate as well as their friends and family. They both have suffered great losses in more ways than one and struggle to let go of the past. Will they deny they care for and have a strong attraction for each other, or will they be stubborn and deny themselves the potential happiness they might find with each other? You will have to go on this roller coaster of a ride to find out.
Ms. Kell tells a story that grabs you from the very beginning. The storyline is so well developed and thought out that I was left guessing until the very end. That is what made it a five-star book for me. I enjoyed this romantic suspense so much I’ve already read it a second time. As the author also introduces us to Jesse’s brothers and Kate’s friends, there is plenty of room for this H.I.S series to grow. This is a great debut novel and I’m so glad I discovered Ms. Kell as she begins her writing career.

This story had lots of twist and turns and the ability to shock you with the truth. I did not see that coming at all. The chemistry between Jesse and Kate was almost touchable on the pages of the book. I am looking forward to more in this series about the H.I.S. family.
Kate Ross is doing what she loves being an FBI agent along with her partner A.J. Hamilton. This has her seeing his oldest brother Jesse a lot; Jesse is a hard ass but oh sexy as hell. When Kate is put in danger Jesse steps up to protect her even though she fights him every step.
Jesse Hamilton is the head of H.I.S. and finally getting his life back after a tragic accident. His daughter Reagan is his life along with his family. He will do anything to protect them which extend to Kate since she is A.J. partner.
But as Jesse puts the rules in place to keep Kate safe, Kate the head strong woman that she is will put up a fight. She does not need a man to protect her. And who will protect her heart that seems to want to give itself to Jesse? As they both learn to deal with being around each other, Jesse and Kate realize that they want more.

I love this book. It is action packed from the beginning. This story follows the lives of Kate Ross, a stubborn, pig headed pain in the ass FBI Agent and Jesse Hamilton owner of HIS, which is a protection services company.
Kate's partner is A.J, whose brother is Jesse. Jesse and Kate are shot at and they aren't sure who the target is, so after a few messages on vehicles Jesse moves in with a very reluctant Kate. As time goes on these two realize their feelings girl each other and decide to give it a try.
Jesse was married before and lost his wife in a robbery gone wrong. Jesse blames himself for this incident and vows he will never find love again.

Sometimes Kate really pissed me off, she was so stubborn that it drove me crazy! Why did she always have to be so difficult? Jesse is a single father who loves his family mire then anything in the world and protects those he loves. The way he interacts with his daughter and sister is enough to make you fall in love with him.
