Oh dear lord!!!! Another 5 star read from Mrs. Luciani! I absolutely love this series and highly recommend that you read every single one of them. There was a couple of surprises in this book that actually through me for a loop but it was all good. And I absolutely love how you get to hear about the other couples in each book. I couldn't put this book down!!!

Joint Venture is a standalone in The Venture Series, but I would recommend reading them in order. It gives you a better understanding of the side characters, especially Mr. Emerson. But, this is Lisa and A.J.’s book, and it’s just as good as the other ones in the series. Neither one of them are looking for love. The romantic idea of forever has been blown away by their pasts. From their first meeting in a stuck elevator, the sparks fly, and you know watching these two fall in love is going to be wonderful!

Lisa and A.J. have plenty of chemistry, and I loved the banter between the two of them. I love strong females in books, and Lisa fits that description perfectly. She’s a lot like A.J. She doesn’t do love, and any guy who utters that word doesn’t last very long. It’s amazing she is the woman she is considering the type of mother she has. I wanted to strangle her mother. A.J. also has a complicated relationship with his father. His father is running for President of the United States, and A.J. can’t seem to keep his name out of the tabloids, usually involving women. A.J.’s reputation and a painful loss has caused the relationship with his father to be strained, but there might be hope for them, especially if he and Lisa can let their walls down and learn to trust each other. There is some mystery added into the story that makes the pages fly by faster as well.

I’m a fan of the series, and I loved catching up with all the characters from the earlier books. There is lots of romance and baby-making happening with them. The way in which all the books are written made me feel like I was a part of their group, so each time a new book comes out, it’s like catching up with old friends.

I have been waiting for this book for quite some time, hoping it was going to live up to my anticipation, and it did in a very big way! AJ did not disappoint...he's sexy and cocky, but with hidden pain and guilt that made me empathize with him and need to see him get his HEA. He far exceeded my expectations for a book boyfriend. He's just incredibly swoon worthy.

Lisa is strong, independent, beautiful, multi-talented, but a bit of a disaster and it's those sometimes funny, sometimes scary scenarios that see AJ coming to her rescue time and time again, even when she doesn't want him to. Neither one of them does relationships, but they keep getting thrown together under different circumstances and the attraction is hard to resist. Then there's the crazy twist...let's not forget about that! Not spilling the beans with spoilers, you'll just have to read. By the end of the epilogue, I was sighing and swooning and smiling, such a great ending that included all the characters from The Venture Series. If you haven't read the other books in the series, you really should!

I will start by saying I love Kristen Luciani and her books! I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I've read about all the Venture men and each one keeps getting better. AJ was an arrogant, cocky manwhore or so everyone thought. Lisa was anti relationship. Together these two are combustible. If you like angst, suspense and hot sexy times this is the book for you. I love the fact that we get to continue to see all the characters from the first three. I don't want to give any spoilers just know this is a must read.

I really enjoyed AJ and Lisa's story and how the whole thing unfolded. To me this was a fast paced story. I loved how they kept running into each other but when Lisa needed him the most, he wasn't there. You must read this book to see how it unfolds.

Thank you Kristen for another wonderful read. Can we get some Zach next?

I really enjoyed reading this book. It has two characters that have troubled backgrounds. But it doesn't make them made people. I love how two damaged people can find each other and come out on top. It does take some time and convincing but it all works out. Loved the story. There was some crazy twist in there that made you say didn't see that coming. Was a really good read.

3 1/2 STARS.. I was so looking forward to AJ's story and although I enjoyed this book.. I just felt like the story went too fast from "not sure if they want to date each other" into "Insta love". Lots of suspense and gripping drama but I just wish there was more of a connection and a few more details.

I reviewed this book on behalf of 2 Girls Who Love Books Blog
Joint Venture is a standalone novel, but in my opinion it would have been better if I had read the other books of this series before reading Joint Venture. I often confused the side characters and was intrigued to get to know their story, more so than the actual story. Joint Venture ends with a HEA, so no cliffhangers here.
However the story didn’t really capture me, how I wished it would. It fast a fast read, I finished it in about two and a half hours and afterwards I didn’t really feel satisfied with the reading experience the story offered. It had no big plotholes, but sometimes the chapters ended really abruptly and the next chapter started in a completely different setting and most of the times at least a few hours later. I had sometimes the feeling that the author really just wanted to rush through getting another book out there with these chapter endings. Sometimes a few more sentences to wrap up the scene would have been nice.
The plot itself was okay, not great, not bad, but okay. There were a few scenes where I just could shake my head about the ridiculous behavior of the characters
CAREFUL, SPOILERS FROM HERE!
One scene especially and the other was more an overall thing.
So Lisa meets her mother and the latest sugar daddy of her mother. It all starts bad, like really bad as in the sugar daddy doesn’t even want to greet her. It is obvious neither he nor her mother care about meeting Lisa. If I would have been in her place I would have left immediately. They were not forced to meet her and when they do so, they should have at least make the effort to play nice. As soon as the insults started I would have thrown the wine glass at them and leave, but she can’t. No, even though she is portrayed as strong woman, she endures it till A.J. comes to her rescue. That was just not believable for me.
The other thing was the part with the crazy ex. I understand that the whole story would have been a lot more boring without her, but it wasn’t really realistic. Lisa slept with a guy and after a month he is already so in love with her that he decides to leave his girlfriend (how can you repeatedly have sex with someone without ever going to his house?). He obviously has put pictures of Lisa in the apartment he shares with his girlfriend (again. Lisa just wants sex and he has pictures of her he decorates his apartment with? Really? With his girlfriend still living there?) and yet Lisa has no idea. She didn’t struck me as stupid, but this was just ridiculous.
SPOILER End
The next thing I didn’t really like was the fact that Lisa found it necessary to torture her feet with high heels all day. You can have nice shoes even with a heel without punishing your feet. And how her friend always complained about getting too big. I mean, she is pregnant. She should gain weight, everything else wouldn’t be healthy! These things really annoyed me. They were not necessary for the plot and yet mentioned so often.
Overall it was a nice book and I liked reading it, but unfortunately it was nothing special. 3.5 stars for this one.

A playboy hiding behind his womanising ways to escape his past and a chance encounter in an elevator with a stunningly attractive woman that doesn't play by the rules to protect her heart, Joint Venture is a high powered romp set in a fast paced business world. A.J. has buried his pat behind a series of bad choices in his not so personal life. When his father pursues the White House his bad boys ways are even more under the microscope. Lisa is a sensible, detached singleton who has experienced the pain of when love turns bad and who has chosen to guard herself from any further disappointment. Yet the dimple and the swagger seems to be managing to crack the ice surrounding her heart. Can the bad boy prove he has changed his ways? Can the ice maiden thaw enough to let someone in?

The will they won't they theme continues in the latest in this series with lots of twists and turns Joint Venture is a fast paced thrilling read that mixes longing and lust with suspense. A.J. is a wounded soul with lots going on underneath the smooth exterior whilst Lisa has her own baggage to deal with. Its great to catch up with the gang from the previous books in this series too and I loved the happily ever after they all experience.

A four star romantic read.

AJ is a lawyer and has lots of baggage. Blaming himself for his twin sisters death and catching his girlfriend cheating on him, he decides he doesn't want a serious relationship. His father is running for president so everything AJ does is known by everyone. He's known as a major player.

Lisa is an Financial Analyst by day and a very talented singer by night. She too doesn't want a serious relationship. She's been sleeping with a coworker Danny but when he decides to profess his love for her she breaks it off.

While at work she gets on the elevator and meets AJ. She thinks AJ is hot, when the elevator gets stuck and she freaks out AJ kisses her but it a short kiss.

AJ can't stop thinking about Lisa. Lisa can't stop thinking about AJ. I don't want to give to much away but AJ and Lisa have so many twists and turns in their relationship, you can only hope that they will work everything out and get together. The story keeps you interested from beginning to end. I also loved hearing about the other Blue Coat men. Definitely a page turner and a great ending to the series. Hot sex, funny and tragedy awaits this great story. A must read.

I was so excited when I got to see that another new Kristen book was coming out. I'm a fan and couldn't wait to jump into this sexy read! I have loved this series from the beginning, and the final installment did not disappoint.

What happens when you cross the playboy with the gurl that will make him change his ways? Well if you are a reader of this genre you might have 1000 different answers to that question, but the story between AJ and Lisa is nothing but a breathe of fresh air! From the first chapter of Joint Venture I was captivated by this last story of the series. I absolutely love the back stories to the characters and that we see some of the past as well. The chemistry is unchartable for two people who shouldn't be perfect for each other, yet find a way to allow the cards fall where they will. Despite her trying to stay away from the type of person AJ is, or at least perceived to be, Lisa still ends up mixed up in a story that just took me on an emotional suspense filled roller coaster. There are a few surprising twists, and I was shocked at a few things, but loved this whole story from cover to cover!

Joint Venture is the fourth book in the Venture series by Kristen Luciani. Each book is a stand alone but the characters make appearances in each of the other books. In this book Kristen tells the story of A.J. Morgan, capital attorney by day, playboy by night with no intentions of settling down. Lisa Embry, number crunching corporate analyst by day, singer in a band at night, has no intentions of settling down as well. She has rules, no relationships and do not use the L word - LOVE. When their paths cross in an elevator, all bets are off. They fight the attraction they feel towards each other but fate keeps throwing them together. Which will win out, hearts or minds? Joint Venture kept me on the edge of my seat and as always, bringing all of Kristen's lovable characters together one more time. It was a pleasure to be a part of the Blue Coat Capital world again. I can always count on laughter, love and a bit of angst with Kristen's books. She supplies us with a bit of an escape and lots of stilettos.

I have been a fan of Kristen Luciani since her first book, Unlikely Venture and with each book her writing grows leaps and bounds. Her men are Alpha men and sexy as hell and her women are tough as nails, badass chicks!! It is no secret that Paul Emerson holds a huge piece of my heart, but AJ wormed his way in and claimed a spot there too. AJ and Lisa had off the charts chemistry. I mean burn up the pages HOT, HOT, HOT!! This book had everything from suspense, romance, sexy along with some great banter. I love all the characters in this whole series and was extremely happy to see them all make appearances in this book. I am a forever fan and simply can not wait to see what she comes up with next! If you haven't read this series, go grab them all now. You won't regret it!!

A.J Morgan is dealing with loss and guilt and he uses woman to try to bury the guilt, but that can't last forever. With his father and hm not seeing eye to eye ever since the accident but with his father running for president he wants his son to stop his playboy ways or at least not get caught. A.J meets Lisa in an elevator and comes her down after the elevator breaks down, one kiss and he wants more. Lisa doesn't do relationship at all. She hasn't had a happy, loving upbringing and leaves her jaded. A.J seems to always be around to when Lisa needs help. Finally not wanting to let the past haunt them both, they finally confess what they want, but when someone targets Lisa will there relationship be cut short? I love this series and loving seeing the other characters and what they are up too.

Another amazing book!!! This series is amazing and I couldn't wait to get this book and WOW!!! A.J. Is everything you could want in a male lead. He is cocky, sexy, and down right delicious! The writing will pull you in from the first page and keep you wanting more and more. I honestly could not put this down and finished it in one day. There was some suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat waiting to see how it was all going to go down. These characters are beautifully written so that you just fall completely in love with them and can truly feel all their emotions with each one. This is definitely a book and series you have to read.

I absolutely adore Kristen Luciani. Joint Venture blew me away. Her characters capture your interest and pulls you right into their lives. Finding out more about Lisa was intriguing. I loved having back ground which helps explain why she chooses her life style. She is strong, independent and loyal . AJ is recovering from a tragic event. Seeing their fears made them more real. They are two slightly broken people who take a chance and find each other. Kristen Luciani, dang woman, throw in a little drama, and my heart almost broke. Awesome job!

Loved

With humor like “"Why aren’t you talking?” she shouted. “You told me not to.” “So why did you listen? I’m clearly hysterical!” “Clearly.” " in the beginning and all the way through its easy to say I enjoyed and loved reading this book. I would recommend this book to others to read.

Terrific Story & Narration🎧 An Enjoyable Delight!

Just Say Yes (A Friends to Lovers Romance)
Love Drunk Series, Book 3
By: Kristen Luciani
Narrated by: Marcio Catalano

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it is well written and well told with interesting storylines that are captivating for start to end. It is my first book written by Kristen Luciani and it will not be my last. The characters are complex and nicely developed, they are realistic and easy to connect with. Both leads, A.J. Morgan and Lisa Embry have their own issues and inner demons. A.J.’s father is a politician with plans to run for President, their father/son relationship is rocky and they do not see eye to eye on many things, especially A.J.’s womanizing and player ways. A.J. is a successful lawyer and businessman, he is taking the elevator down when the power goes out. He is stuck inside with a female who is on the verge of losing it. He does the one thing he knows best, he takes her in his arms and kisses her. Lisa Embry has plenty of phobias and getting stuck in an elevator is now one of them, she freaks out but a gorgeous guy comes to her rescue or does he. She is caught off guard but his antics did work it stopped her from having a full blown panic attack. Lisa works in finance and is great at what she does, but her passion is with music and performing on stage. But in need of a steady income she sticks to her day job and does her music things on the side. AJ is intrigued by Lisa, she is resistant, she starts to give in after he comes to her rescue but she does not trust easy and continues to send him mixed signals but does not give up. A lot goes on in this book, the story is nicely plotted and there is never a dull moment. There is plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moments, some heartfelt and emotional ones and the start of a great romance. Kristen Luciani, thank you for this terrific story.

I listened to the Audible edition, Marcio Catalano is a fabulous narrator and voice artist. He does a great job bringing the characters to life, giving each their own distinct voice and personality. His portrayal of the characters is spot on, grasping their persona with perfection, sounding just as I pictured them to sound. He captures the characters emotions and projects them into his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Than you for this great listen🎧

Wow, I really taught they were never going to take the leap of faith. Love this story, it’s so heart warming and family oriented. As everyone is welcoming love into their lives Lisa and AJ seems to be running for the hills, but just their luck on meeting each other. Each fighting their own losses and not ready for what the future has in stores for them. I must say that I love the weird meetings. It’s as if something almost always goes wrong. Above all I love that everyone finally came together. I

I really liked this story. Lisa and AJ come from different worlds but both have family drama that has shaped their current life and thoughts on love. AJ is a playboy, Lisa is only looking for a hookup. From the first meeting the chemistry between them is off the charts. Can both of them lower their filters and guards and let the other in? This is a story that proves that the right person in your life can make all the difference and that love conquers all.

Good story!💜

While I did enjoy this story, parts of it seemed to accelerate a bit fast. I felt like I missed something. Overall the storyline was good as well as the characters.
The narration was mostly really good however it was difficult distinguishing between the characters. The narrator has a terrific male voice.
This is book 3 with an HEA and can be read as a standalone.

This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.

I've loved all of Kristen's books so far, and this book didn't disappoint. I liked how you still found out about all the other characters, especially Jessica and James. I think they will always be my favourite couple. AJ and Lisa were perfect for each other and I loved their interactions because of the believable nature of their meetings and the responses from both characters. The story sucked me in until I had laughed, gasped and sighed in relief at the end of the book. I enjoyed the drama, suspense, interlinking of stories, the laughter and the romance.
Lisa is a lady who has been burned by people before and has built a fortress around her heart in order to protect herself in the future. She loves her friends and values her friendships, but men have always been kept at a distance emotionally. The relationship Lisa has at the beginning is crucial to the plot and I did not see the twist coming! I loved how Kristen kept you on your toes, especially involving Zack in the plot.
AJ. He is a gorgeous, guilt-ridden young man who has lived his in the spotlight due to his family. My heart broke for AJ once I'd read why he acted the way he did. He's made his mistakes and acted out the way he knew how... became a man-whore. His friendship and working relationship with Paul was comical and I enjoyed how you could tell they'd been friends for a long time. They have that easy going friendship which only comes with that ease of knowing the other person for years.

When Lisa and AJ met, I think I was shocked into not reading momentarily. AJ was arrogant but sexy and Lisa was feisty yet vulnerable. I didn't think they meet again, but boy did the sparks fly. I liked how they both had to change, but it wasn't changes to them as people but instead of how they viewed the other sex. They were sweet together yet they burned for one another. Kristen didn't reveal anything throughout the book which makes me excited to read more of her work.

Thus book is a must read, as it'll captivate you and draw you in to her world.

4 ½ Stars!

Lisa Embry first set eyes on the incredibly hot and egotistical AJ Morgan when she thought she was going to die in an elevator. A savvy financial analyst by day and sultry club singer by night, she has a firm belief that men were for sex. No relationships. No falling in love. Ever. Her emotional walls were higher than Everest. When Lisa and AJ run into each other, and he eventually saves her from being assaulted, a bond is formed between this saucy lady and the manwhore extraordinaire.

As the son of the state Governor, hotshot lawyer AJ was already a playboy in the spotlight. But when the Governor decides to run for President, the spotlight magnifies exponentially. His every little move is newsworthy, and most of it focuses on his extracurricular activities. What the media doesn’t see is the emotional baggage that he hides just beneath the surface. Lisa is a kind of breath of fresh air, someone who interests him and he can’t figure out why.

When emotions begin to invade their newly formed relationship, AJ has to scale Everest to get Lisa to open up and give him a chance. Unbeknownst to everyone, Lisa is in danger, and even the Governor’s son can only provide so much protection.

With a romantic and slightly suspenseful storyline, Kristen Luciani has knocked it out of the park. The characters were developed, the storyline strong, and the secondary characters worthy of being main characters. There were twists that I wasn’t expecting and I enjoyed the book all the more because it wasn’t predictable at all.

AJ and Morgan are two people who went from being anti-relationship to everything to one another. I liked the progression of their story and their feelings. It wasn’t forced or on hyper speed. Their relationship evolved as they learned who one another really was. Their banter was great, and their relationships with their friends was the kind that even I would want. I felt like I belonged with them
Kristen Luciani wrote a truly wonderful book. And as this is the first of hers that I have read, I look forward to reading other books by her.
