When a sexy shifter and a curvy human female meet, the sparks fly. A camping trip in the Scottish wilderness is exactly what Izzy needs to nurse her bruised heart. But danger lurks in the isolated woods where she pitches her tent. Wolf shifter, Louis, catches Izzy’s scent and is immediately drawn to her. He isn’t supposed to want the curvy human female as he is the pack enforcer, not an alpha, but he can’t resist her. He defies pack orders to keep watch over her. When Izzy is brutally attacked, Louis is there to help. He takes her back to his pack and the two of them unleash an intense attraction they find hard to deny. But forces are ranged against them, and they must overcome many obstacles before they can be together. Can they combine their strengths to overcome the odds? **This book can be read as a standalone. No cliff hangers.
I'm a UK based author who loves to read and write all things romance. As Skye Jones I write steamy paranormal romance that ranges from light and fun to dark and gritty.
As S.R. Jones I write darker contemporary romance and romantic suspense.
I live in Yorkshire, and get lots of inspiration from the windswept moors, the old stone buildings and the Celtic myths of this fair isle.
My dogs are my favourite people, and I'm quite fond of my husband too. I love chocolate and starbucks mochas and keep meaning to give them up for a life as a svelte fashion plate - it never happens!
Her. She was the one who’d brought the wolf here. 5 GOLD PAWS UP
That voice. Her smell. They called to the wolf…and to the male within. So perfect, so beautiful. Mine. You’re made to be mine. I did feel made to be his. WHAT A HOWLING FURTASTIC STORY!! WOW! I ABSO-SHIFTING-LUTELY love, Love, LOVE this book and series! I love the way that Skye tells her stories, the magical way I am drawn in, entranced from the start, not stopping for anything until I have finished the book! The detail to the "background" of the story paints such a picture that I almost feel like I watched it rather than "just" read about it! By "background" I mean the other characters as well as their surroundings and everything that goes on around, behind the main characters. I feel like I can actually see the forest for the trees, as well as the Wolf in the Woods! wink The Pack laws & ways, how & where they live, play, hunt & mate, their histories as individuals and the Pack as a whole, add even more layers of enriched depth to the story. Her characters are complex and so well-rounded I swear they are real people! There is so much more I want to say - that I NEED to say - to explain why I love this story, why I cried, laughed and cried some more, even quotes I want to share that would help explain this deep connection and love I have for this story & the characters, to convince you to buy this book and read it too so then I COULD chat with someone about it all, but I can't do any of that without spoilers thereby ruining that powerful first rush, that pleasure and that excitement and love that you get from reading a WOLFTASTIC book for the first time!! And trust me, this book IS that SHIFTASTIC book! Skye's intensely beautiful and heartfelt storytelling is the main reason why I feel everything I do about Izzy, Louis, Brooke, Drew and the other characters, why the story has touched me deeply, why I connect to Izzy and honestly felt like I was Izzy! When the bad thing happened, I could see, feel the panic, pain and everything else that Izzy did! (See! This is why I wish I could say more without spoilers!) My first taste of Skye’s writing was with Wolves at the Door, Shifters of the Glen series, book 1, and I was instantly captivated! I knew from almost the beginning when I was pulled so deep into the story without me even being conscious of it, with her beautiful and entrancing way with words, that Skye had a genuine and exceptional gift for storytelling! I was enthralled so quickly and never once being let go until there wasn't anything more to read, living the story, even the depth to which I was connecting and relating to Brooke, seeing, feeling, BEING her, well that only proved to me beyond a shadow of a doubt that Skye is also one enormously talented author!! None of that has changed with this second book of the series (and coincidentally the second book of Skye's that I have read!)! Well okay, that's not completely true! My feelings, hunger, the connection & love I feel for both the characters and the story itself, has grown even deeper, more intense, more tangible, more... just MORE! I have honestly fallen in author-reader love with Skye! I love her books so much, so fast, that I need more books to read NOW! I am a Skye addict, Jonesing for my next fix! Pun FULLY intended! trademark pending! ;)
Omg this story is amazing..the characters, the plot everything about this story is truly wonderful. I simply love Louis. He is a strong alpha male with the most kind heart. While in his wolf form running in the woods Louis smells the most alluring scent who turns out to be Izzy, a young woman camping with her friends. When Izzy is viciously attack by one of her friends, Louis comes to her rescue and kills her attacker, and bring her back to his pack. The chemistry between them is hot and explosive. But when Izzy returns to her home will Louis lose her forever or will they be able to find they way to each other again.
This is a book two but definitely can be read as a standalone. Once again I am enraptured by these characters! They are so full of emotions and life. This writer is so skilled you can feel every fear, every heartache and every joy. Our main characters deliver the hot and steamy scenes, struggle through the wrenches thrown in their paths and delivers our HEA. I have been given a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Izzy just broke up with her boyfriend Jason. She decided to go camping with her best friend Cindy, Gregg, and Dave. While she's out running she runs into a lone gorgeous hunk named Louis. He has a scar on his face down to his neck. First gut instinct to izzy is to run. So she does back to camp. Next night she is at the lake and sees a wolf. She's not scared just shaken at his build, so she heads back to camp and dreams of the wolf and the strange man in the woods. While looking for her wolf she is followed by her ex's friend Gregg. When the wolf shows up Gregg attacks it and it takes off only to leave her alone, with Gregg when Gregg attacks her Louis shows up and saves her. He takes her to his tribe. Knowing that she has to leave him to get back to her father she drinks a remedy to forget him and the attack. When she gets home she still has dreams about the lone man and wolf. Can these two fated mates find their way back to each other? Need to read. Great story.
Izzy goes on a camping trip in the Scottish wilderness with friends and some not so friends. She discovers a hot but scary man and she meets up with a wolf. She never knew they were living there.
But when one of her "friends" attacks her the wolf and the man save her. Introducing her to a new world. But does she want to stay even when she has feelings for Louis?
I like the way Louis is there for her, more than once. Izzy and her doubts make it a four star for me, but when you want a good werewolf story this certainly is one.
Wolf in the Woods is a quick but enjoyable read. Just enough longer than book 1 in the Shifters of the Glen series to make the characters more realistic. Only a couple of Izzy's decision irked me, but they were part of her character's growth that showed progressively through the book. Louis definitely made the shifter boys look good, and I am definitely a fan of the claw and furry club. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Skye's work.
Liked the story and the characters. Novellas don't let you get deep into the characters still I enjoyed it and will read the rest of the series. I like this wolf pack and want to finish up with the characters I have met thus far. I really liked Louis a lot and wanted him to have a happy ending since he had been alone for so long because he had no family living in the village. Quick but easy read.
I got this free on Amazon and although it was rather short, it was a pretty good read. The premise for the story is decent, I just wish it had been longer and less rushed. More detail and a little more depth to the characters and plot and this could easily be a four or five star book.
Where has this series been hiding? Why has Amazon hidden this from me? I loved this book and looking forward to reading the next book in the series... Warning there is a big trigger... (1-10)I would give it a 6.. the deed did not happen.. but it went on for quite a while before it was stopped...
I think the story could have done without killing the bad guy. However I don't see that there was any other solution to take care of the bad guy. Girl meets scary wolf falls in love happy ending.
Shifters again. Wolves this tie as the title indicates.
I think I will give this genre a rest for awhile. I don't particularly care for all the sex involved. Maybe it was always included or at my advanced age it is redundant. Anyhow back to the mysteries for now.
It was great but to short lol, good ones always are, any who was a good read but tell you what they don't waste no time jumping in the sack after their dreams like wow intense stuff
What can I say about this series? OMG its freaking delicious. I love the characters all of them. This author snagged me and haven't let go yet. If you love great PNR come check out this series.
This is a good second book in the series. Louis, the scarred shifter and Isobel the human with special senses. I wanted to kill Izzy at first but liked her in the end.
Nice paranormal romance with an alpha hero who takes care of his mate even though she turned away from him twice. She finally puts her education to use on herself and comes back.
Could not put it down. On the edge of my seat waiting for what would happen next, anticipation of what I would read exciting and heart pounding would the wolf and Izzy finally find their happily ever after. Read if you want to find out.
About a wolf shifter in the woods, a human female is camping with friends and goes running and sees a man watching her. He is the wolf man and saves her from a so called friend
Exciting, dark, dangerous yet still romantic this story may cause some to feel uncomfortable if they have been victims of assault but is sensitively written and has a hea. So well written I now have to go find the first book in this series
I chose this rating because I enjoyed the story. The book was easy to read and get emotionally attached to the characters. I like the authors style of writing.
This was a great sevond part to this series. We get a follow up on the cast from part one anf meet some new people. All i can do now is wait to read part 3.
