Tiger lily part 2 authors banner

The second novel of the Tiger Lily trilogy, Tiger Lily #2 was an AMAZING follow up that shows great craftsmanship and development author Amelie S. Duncan has mastered since her book debut just two books ago!

I immensely enjoyed this novel and found every part of Jonah and Lily’s romance steamy, invigorating, confusing, full of surprises, and suspense!

It was like these characters could not catch a break as the angst just kept piling up on them and poor Lily is taken for a pawn while Jonas is constantly trying to figure out what he wanted while trying to be as noble and do the right thing as possible.

Can’t wait for bk3!

This began where the last one left off. This was more emotional, and heart breaking. We get a little more exposure to Declan.
I’m hoping Lily turns her life around in the next book.
Now on to part three!

My star rating for TIGER LILY (Part 2) is: 4 out of 5 stars. :)

My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’
after reading an ARC Copy of ‘TIGER LILY (Part 2)’
(via:BooksMoviesFandoms.wordpress.com):

***WARNING: Possible SPOILERS if you haven’t read the previous Novels of the Tiger Lily Series.***

Tiger Lily: Part 2 picks up where part 1 left off. Lily “Tiger Lily” Salomé finds herself having strong feelings for the successful, handsome and powerful man Jonas Crane. Unfortunately, her ex-fiance still lingers around with an obsessive need to keep his control over Lily and break her down every chance he gets. Author Amélie S. Duncan has stated that this will be a trilogy series and I am excited to continue the story of Lily and Jonas for at least one more novel. I was given the opportunity the read and review a this latest upcoming installment of this enthralling contemporary romance that follows Lily Salomé and the successful business mogul Jonas Crane. Readers will get to enjoy reading this novel from the main character Lily Salomé’s P.O.V.(point of view).

Lily Salomé doesn’t want to trouble anyone with her problems. Her ex-fiance Declan Gilroy has re-entered her life and seems determined to make her life as miserable as possible. She pushes Jonas Crane away because for one: she has fallen in love with the mogul; and two: Declan is breaking her down with his constant dark ways. Lily’s had a hard time trying to get passed her insecurities and become stronger after being in such an unhealthy and abusive relationship with Declan. He tries to keep that control over her even now by using the items that are valuable to the memories she has of her parents who died a few years back. But not everyone is willing to just give up on Lily even though she sometimes feels like giving up on herself.

Lily finds unlikely allies in two people during a time when she is trying hard to get over Jonas Crane. Jonas’s ex-wife Dani and his business friend Ian have been keeping certain information from Jonas about Lily now that she’s pulled away from him. This is certain to cause strain to their relationships. While Ian is willing to help Lily, he doesn’t hide the fact that he has an attraction to her with his constant flirtatious behavior. Then, you have Heiress Melissa Finch who may be more in tuned to the kind of companionship that Jonas seeks. Will Lily and Jonas fall further apart from each other with these new romantic prospects? After all, Jonas Crane has only been wanting an arranged companionship but Lily wants and needs more. With her growing feelings and his stance on not wanting that much of a commitment right now, Lily had to save her heart. But some feelings are hard to ignore no matter how much someone tries to deny that those feelings exist. Lily’s life begins to slowly crumble around her and all she can do is struggle to try hard to not give up and give in. But with Declan always there trying to tear her world apart with secrets of their past, what is Lily to do?

The second novel of the Tiger Lily Series is full of emotional twists and turns. Lily Salomé seems to be at her weakest in this novel after we saw that she was trying her best to be strong after so much turmoil from her life in the past. Will Lily be able to move forward in her life and in love? Will her ex-fiance Declan ever stop harassing her or will things only get worse? How much longer can Lily keep her secrets about Declan from Jonas? Can Jonas Crane ever get passed his need for control and will he ever just admit that he feels more for Lily than he’s allowed himself to show?

This story and series continues to deliver in the hot and steamy, as well as the romantic aspects that make it enticing. We get to learn more about the characters and their flaws as well as what they have to offer. Jonas continues to be a strong, hot alpha-male, and very protective but withdrawn in some ways because he is confused about his strong feelings he continues deny. I recommend this one for your reading pleasure and to continue this wonderful story. I’m looking forward to the final installment of Tiger Lily Series: Part 3. This series is worth reading so check out this incredible series.

My star rating for TIGER LILY (Part 2) is: 4 out of 5 stars.

This is the second book in this series and picks up right where the first one left off. I am really enjoying Amelie S. Duncan’s writing style, and the direction she is taking the characters. She definitely took me on more of an emotional roller coaster this time around.

I have to admit that I was frustrated with the main character, Lily at times, but given the circumstances it was understandable. I’m hoping she becomes a stronger woman in the next book. Jonas is as swoon-worthy as he was in the first book if not more so. I still need more of him though. As far as some of the other characters, Melissa and Natasha? I would have liked to have reached through my Kindle and smacked both of them. And Declan, her ex? Oh, there’s a special place just for guys like him and it gets really, really hot there. I hope he gets what he deserves and soon. Paul, Jonas' son, literally had me chuckling out loud. I would love to hear more about him once he's a little older. You know, when he's of legal age to drool over.

I give 4 stars to Tiger Lily part 2 and I cannot wait for the next book to come out!

This picks up right where book one ends. There's a lot going on with Lily's ex-fiancé going out of his way to utterly break her down, her distance and separation from Jonas, and her running herself down. Lily is pretty much living in Hell because she's in love with Jonas but he can't give her the relationship she deserves and needs. Tiger Lily part 2 get 4.5 heartbreaking stars from me.

Lily is the kind of person who prefers to shield others while taking on the brunt of things. This is shown with how she lies and hides from Jonas thinking she is protecting him. Lily gets emotionally and physically broken down in this novel which makes it an emotional read. More sides of Jonas and Lily are shown. Jonas may not be perfect but he takes care of his own. He rushes to Lily's aid and takes care of her. A very painful moment for Jonas is shown in this novel which helps to shed light onto the reason Jonas is the way he is.

Overall, I was enslaved by this book. I read it in under two hours because I kept feeling compelled to finish. There's another part to this series so, of course, this leaves the reader at yet another cliffhanger.

In the second book of the Tiger Lily trilogy Amelie S Duncan made me even more enamored of Lily, her heroine. She also made me weary of her fondness of diabolical cliffhangers. I can forgive those as long as she continues to tell such a captivating story.
Lily is now fighting her feelings for Jonas, fighting her own insecurities, and simply fighting Declan, her ex fiancee. Her health, both mental and physical, are in jeopardy along with every other aspect of her carefully constructed life.
This story is so well written that I caught myself being conflicted between wanting to go beat up someone for Lily and simply wanting to wrap her up in my arms. The end result is that I am so eager to read the third book but yet hate thinking my relationship with Lily is coming to an end. I realize this is a trilogy but I can hold out hope for a spin off. The Devil rates this book worthy of 4 pitchforks.

I'm still fascinated by this story. The author's writing style is a subtle and sensitive combination of feelings and longings, despair and hope, strength and weakness. It reflects to perfection the fragile yet profound human set of mind of Lily, a woman lost in her own sense of precarious self-worth.

After a heart-breaking ending in part one, I was extremely curious as to how Lily's story would continue. She's defeated, but trying to find inner strength to become a better version of herself. Though she's not as alone as she feels, Lily is aware of her unrequited feelings for Jonas. She senses he's as far removed from her station as humanly possible.

It was so sad and even tragic to see low she thinks of herself, how ashamed of her weak behaviour she deems herself to be in regards to her past boyfriend and her family's legacy of honour.

To me, it was so plain to see that the abuse she's suffered has turned her judgment of facts and people to be unreliable. Every time she's rejected or feels alone and isolated, she becomes smaller and more fragile. It was painful to watch. I so wanted to hug her and give her the hope she deserves.

Jonas is also a complex character. Too busy and haunted by commitments and family expectations that he shies from having his heart tied once more. But you can't help but understand he man, wanting to offer him some consolation. The words compel you to feel like Lily and her pull to be what he wants.

I feel this compelling need to stress that the passionate scenes are also full of heightened, beautiful eroticism. They blend wonderfully with the psychological part of the story.

Tiger Lily continues to be a beautifully sad story of deep emotions, of loss and wounded hearts, of an abused woman who carries too much shame and is starving for love. Oh the path of self-destruction, sacrifice and love take on a new, raw meaning. I loved it because it made me ache, suffer, feel compassion and as much loneliness and despair as Lily. I loved how protective of others she is, or how profound her sorrow is over her mistakes. And I loved her complicated relationship with Jonas, a man who doesn't want to be responsible for anyone's happiness and, in doing so, is denying his own.

There is so much in this story, I genuinely want to know how it all ends, and if Lily will break her cycle of abuse and self-loathing, and find a happy future with Jonas. Part 3 cannot come soon enough!

Title: Tiger Lily book two
Author: Amelie S Duncan
Reviewer: Rea Loftis

Tiger Lily book 2, unfortunately is not better than book one. I feel like the same issues that I had with book 1 are more prevalent in book two. The main problem with book two for me is the title character, Lily. I'm trying to put myself in a place where I can understand that she has a history of abuse. And that has caused her to have a lot of issues, it's just really difficult to read. Her lack of self preservation , and just letting herself be manipulated is something that I can't identify with. Maybe because I myself have never been in that situation of domestic violence, I can't fully grasp the darkness that she feels.

The bright spot for me in book one, Jonas, also gave me issues in book two. He seemed to at times put on a front that he still cares for Lily. Yet he has gone back to his complicated way of relationships prior to her. I'm just having a hard time trusting Jonas' feelings at this point.

Overall it's hard for me to really buy into the relationships that are in this series, and I really think it's unfortunate. I wanted to like the progression of the story and hoped for more. For that reason I have to give Tiger Lily Book 2 only two stars.

I'm hoping for some redemption in book 3.

Amélie S. Duncan's "Tiger Lily: Part Two" is the second installment of an interesting and lusty series. It's very good for a second, the plot keeps thickening. Jonas is a super hot book boyfriend and Declan is a guy you love to hate. You keep wondering throughout where things are going with some of the other characters, like Jonas's exes and Ian. I binge read this in one sitting and when I hit 90% I was chomping at the bit! I can't wait for the third part!

I'm actually tossing this in the DNF pile. In the first book, Lily seemed a bit immature and inexperienced. In the second book, she devolves. I have lost all interest in reading any more of her story. Honestly, I'm always baffled why authors think weak, indecisive, insecure, and self-sabotaging characters are somehow desirable. Do readers really enjoy relating to people who slide deeper and deeper into self-pity with each chapter? I don't.

And each person who could help Lily evolve is either too selfish, detached, guarded, or cruelly judgmental to be of any value. Instead of perhaps allowing the domestic abuse to be the destructive habit Lily must disentangle from, it's only a part of what makes her character so fractured and pathetic that she became unrealistic. Gregor is weird and impossible to figure out whether he's a friend, an infatuated boss, or just a manipulative creep who used her to entice an old frenemy into a business deal. The author can't decide what type of man Jonas is but has made him so damaged, confused, and inconsistent that he's barely likeable. Ian is a jerk. Declan is an abusive narcissist. Mary is cruel and hurtful in all her intetactions with Lily, yet we're supposed to believe she's the best friend. The roommate is a superficial and self-absorbed flake. Dani is strange in her instant niceness and helpfulness but inability to emotionally handle helping Lily resolve her problem with Declan. Even the dead parents aren't likable because their love was demanding and suffocating. There isn't one healthy relationship in this entire series.

I don't buy romances to be dragged into the pit of despair. And I truly wish authors would stop turning up the angst in these misguided attempts at camouflaging their poor skill at crafting romantic drama. That messiness is not cute or creative.

I enjoyed this second part of Lily's story just as much as the first.

"My heart pounded in my chest as he stood before me, the electricity of our connection sparking between us and stealing my breath."

Lily is not in a good place mentally and physically. Missing Jonas and feeling like she needs to protect everyone else in her life from her toxic, and potentially dangerous, ex has her running herself into the ground. Until enough is enough and Jonas comes back into her life, but it is not clear to Lily in exactly what capacity.

"There is something there between us. I don't know what it is yet, but I want to try to find out."

The connection between Jonas and Lily was as magnetic and compelling as ever. No matter who tried to pull them apart, it didn't dim the fire between them. I wished Lily had been stronger and reached out for help, but she was totally spiralling and my heart hurt for her suffering and desperation. I'm so keen for the last book now as this book finished on a tender and promising note that really tugged on my heartstrings.

This is part 2 of a trilogy about Lily Salome and Jonas Crane.
In this part of the trilogy, Lily and Jonas are not in a companionship or a relationship. Instead, Lily is still battling the demons and the loyalty that she feels towards her ex, Duncan. He’s still emotionally and mentally abusing her and toying with her and it has caused her to go downhill fast. It’s really hard to read this at some points as Lily is at some of her most vulnerable and lowest points. Duncan knows exactly where to hit to get her to bend for him, and boy does he take advantage of that.
Both Jonas and Dani are willing to help her, but will Lily accept their help? Will Lily and Jonas be able to be friends and work through Lily’s mental and emotional issue regarding her ex without crossing the line? Part 2 may provide some of these answers, but I’m hoping Part 3 really brings it all together!

The second books picks up right where book one ended. I love when they do that!

The relationship between Dani and Lily brings joy to my heart. But she refuses to lie to Jonas on Lily's behalf. Declan is here to cause chaos in Lily's life this time around, everything from stealing things from her, to abusing her in multiple ways. Ian and Dani agree to assist Lily and keep it to themselves.

I hated the way Melissa acted towards Lily in order to gain the love of Jonas. There is so much in this book I would like to go into detail about but do not want to give anything away! Jonas is a dream, Melissa and Declan are JERKS, Dani is an angel, Paul is a sarcastic joy, and Mary is a saint.

On to book three! I am really hoping to continue reading more books from Amelie. I would have liked to see more spice in this book

The first book was really good and angsty, but this second book was so much darker and sadder, my heart broke for Lily. She is so alone and so ashamed and afraid to tell her friends, and she only has a few, about the abuse she has suffered, that she tried to manage on her own. And she does so miserably. And it's kind of like a domino effect, just one thing after another. Getting beaten, broken into, losing her roomate, getting sick, money problems. And psycho Declan behind it all. Losing Jonas, the best thing she ever had in her life. This was just such a sad, depressing book I couldn't wait to finish it and hope things will look better in the third book! But the story sucks you in and is written in such a way that you feel every emotion Lily feels. In to book 3!!!!

This started right where the last one ended. Lily and Jonas are companions and he leaves for a trip. She starts to workout more and not eat as much trying to lose some weigh because in her mind there is so much doubt that forms and she wants to be better. As the story goes on there’s a lot of secrets that happen and lies that start to eat away at her to almost be in serious medical issues. Jonas comes in and stops her from everything and takes over but Melissa is now in the picture and Lily’s heart and mind are fighting. Will it be Melissa or Lily that will get to claim Jonas as theirs? Need to read to find out.

I have never been more infuriated by a character. I literally wanted her to get her ass beat. “ I don’t want to ruin his life...” like girl you are ruining my life with your weak ass whiny ass B.S!!! Like how was she so like-able and relatable in part one, to then be this weak ass individual in part two!??

Love this series

A page turner for sure. Enjoyed every moment. Okay one reads a series like this for the titillation. I found however it caused me to ponder abuse and what it does to a person. Pondering how much it erodes one’s self. How many women out there punish themselves because of what they went through? Cannot wait to finish the series.

Wonderfully written.

This second book about Jonas and Lily is captivating. It is also very easy to relate with. It's what makes a good story you want to see what happens so badly you get lost in the pages.

Tiger Lily, (Tiger Lily 2),  Amélie S. Duncan
Genre:  Romance,
Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews.
I loved part one, and this is a great follow up. Thankfully Amelie is bust writing the final part now so it shouldn’t be too long before the story is complete
After Fifty Shades there’s been a multitude of erotic romance reads in this theme of rich guy/not so rich girl, and so many are frankly dull, bland, copycat failures for me. Tiger Lily though has that something special, great characters, interesting storyline and erotic and varied sex scenes. I so hate it when the sex not only takes over the story but is bland and repetitive...not here though – perfect balance of sex and story.
I had to re read the end of last book – I read so much that its easy to get confused, and I couldn’t quite remember how this had been left...anyway here we are with poor Lily wanting more from Jonas, and stubborn man that he is he’s sticking rigidly to the companion only line. So for now they are apart. Gregor, her boss,  can see she’s upset but there’s history between him and Jonas, and he thinks its for the best, he thinks Lily is too good for Jonas and that history will repeat itself. He wants more from Lily too – and so does someone else, Jonas’ friend Ian. He’s met Lily when she was with Jonas and now Dani ( Jonas’ ex wife, a caring lady) has involved him in Lily’s attack. Her ex attacked her at the end of the last book, and Dani and Ian would like her to press charges. She doesn't want to though, even though he’s done it before. Declan has promised her he’s going to rehab and getting help, and she doesn’t want this to ruin his life. After all she was in love with him in the past, and he was a great support when her parents died. Ian insists she at least makes a legal statement to him  in case of any future problems or she changes her mind. She agrees, but insists they keep it all from Jonas. She knows he’ll come back if he hears about it and her heart just can’t take it, knowing how he feels won’t change. Poor Lily, she’s in a hard place. Life is going to get tougher for her very quickly though, with more problems from Declan, Ian and Gregor both hoping for more from her, and Jonas still keeping tabs on her. Then she finds out he’s gone back to Melissa. Lily is gutted, and along with the issues from Declan she spirals into despair.
Poor Lily – it seems everything hits her at once in this book. Jonas won’t move forward into more than the companion role for her, even though he knows she’s in love with him, and its clear to everyone he feels more for her that he’ll admit. He can’t bear for her to be with anyone else though, was furious when David ( the chauffeur) told him Gregor kissed her, furious when he saw her with Ian, and yet he’s now with Melissa.
Dani – she’s a real star and a literal lifesaver. I thought she was going to be one of those friends on outside but evil inside types, but she seems a genuinely lovely lady so far. Melissa though – she’s great, a real nasty b itch, and every good romance needs one of those IMO! I can’t believe Jonas can be so obtuse as he is in this book – but of course if he wasn't then things wouldn’t be nowhere near as much fun. Once again Amélie has written a gripping and sensual story, with unexpected plots and I’m so keen to read the final part and see how it all ends. Its definitely one I’ll reread when its all released so I can go back to back on the instalments and read all in one go. That’s the way I enjoy these stories best, when I can get the full effect of the drama.

Stars:  Five, a fabulous read .
