Then he draws the attention of werewolves, and discovers that everything he thought he knew about Levi, the man who abandoned him, is a lie. But one lie leads to another, ending in a vast conspiracy that threatens to destroy everything Jude loves—and that doesn't even begin to include the challenges that Beck is facing.

Lexi has always been an avid reader and at a young age started reading (secretly) her mother’s romances (the ones she was told not to touch). She was the only teenager she knew of who would be grounded from reading. Later, with a pencil and a note book, she wrote her own stories and shared them with friends because she loved to see their reactions. A Texas transplant, Lexi now kicks her boots up in the Midwest with her Yankee husband and her 80 pound puppies named after vacuum cleaners.

Lost, missing, or forgotten?

I was a bit underwhelmed by the title and the cover, but it had something in the blurb that made me go ahead and try it. And yay! This is action-packed, conspiracy-driven, and a sweet romance.

Jude is the overlooked younger brother of Beck. Beck and his love, Diego take him in after being cast out. Nursing a broken heart, Jude struggles to find purpose and his envy of both Beck's relationship and job with the I.O.N. Beck's new born skill of super speed gained him a position at the agency overseeing supernatural beings.

But, there's trouble brewing in San Diego and suddenly Jude is finding out all sorts of truths. Not everything that is missing is lost. Jude has choices. The characters made this as much fun as it was, especially the secondary characters whom add a lot of world building as we meet them. From werewolves to druids to nephilim to seers and a host of other supernatural beings there's a web being woven.

The romance is sweet and possessive, but the primary focus of the story is Jude's transformation and the mystery surrounding the werewolves. That said, there is a light BDSM scene with spanking that appears featuring secondary characters that seemed oddly placed. The incongruity of it, while hot, was distracting from the story.

This is a paranormal adventure with a series arc. The story has a conclusion for the characters' romance, but there are outstanding issues regarding the overall story. It was fun and peaked my interest for more stories in the series. I'd rate this 3.5 stars.

****Reviewed for Prism Book Alliance®****

I loved Werewolf’s Tale and a Druid’s Sword! I got more of Diego and Beck as well as being introduced to Jude and his soul mate; more of the secret world of otherness.

The action was high and intense. I could feel them doing their parkour through the city, running and jumping. I was right there when they battled their foes. It was well detailed without being overbearing.

The romance was good. We got to see Jude and his man connect as well as see Diego and Beck confirm their feelings.

I loved seeing the werewolves through new eyes and be introduced to new creatures in this world. It is all so creative how Lexi Ander fits old legends into a new imagining. We meet new friends and old enemies as the search for Marx Barnabas continues.

I devoured this book, hardly being able to put it down. I can’t wait for the next tale in the series!!!

3.5 stars. The full review and much more can be found at The Novel Approach

In this second installment of the series, Jude, Beck’s younger brother. joins Diego and Beck in their house in San Diego. Diego and Beck are both working for I.O.N., and Jude knows something about the paranormal world—enough to keep him safe, at least. Or, so Diego and Beck hope. But Jude is still suffering from a broken heart after being deserted by his high school boyfriend and true love, Levi. In an attempt to “move on,” Jude meets Stephen at a club and goes home with him, but it seems they are both trying to get over broken hearts and they decide to be friends rather than lovers.

For some reason, Jude has the feeling that Levi is near, even though he had joined the military and was deployed overseas. When Jude is pursued by werewolves, though, he swears that he recognizes one of them as Levi. It’s a mystery as to who the werewolf is because Levi is still supposedly in the service, and communicating with his parents.

In the meantime, Jude has also been hiding some things from Beck and Diego, things that he’s been hiding for a long time. When he starts to develop other abilities, he’s confused and isn’t anxious to share with his brother and his partner. Jude does not trust I.O.N., and so he’s reluctant to come clean about the werewolves or his feelings about Levi.

It turns out that there is WAY more to Jude than meets the eye. He’s got more abilities and powers than he is even remotely aware of. When he’s jolted into remembering who he is, there is a lot on the line, and he is the key to resolving many of the issues that currently plague the paranormal world.

I so enjoyed the original story that started this series waaaaaay back in the day when it was first published. I then really liked the updated and expanded second edition, which made me hopeful for the sequel. The end of that story, though, really is still just the tip of the iceberg, as evidenced by this new chapter that expands this world and leads us on new adventures. While this one was a little slow for me in some places, the last third of the story is a wild ride of roller coaster proportions. There were many, many twists and turns, and I really can’t wait to see what comes next. Hopefully, there will be a lot more in this series that will give us answers to questions from the first book and this newest episode.

YIPPEEEEE! Book two, finally! And so worth the wait.

Okay, one small complaint, and just shows what an amazing writer she is, Jude, in the beginning was pissing me off. All that no I won’t tell yet, no, woe-is-me. LOL. I’m not a fan of young whiny characters and Jude fell smack into that mold, in the start of this book. Until Levi showed up and shit got real!

Once Jude and Levi and the wolves started the journey, WOW. That was a page turning, world turning head spinning amazing piece of writing. I thought we had set up the baseline with the other book, and this one definitely follows that one, Beck and Diego and still around but not as much. This is Jude and Levi’s journey. And with that we’ve find out more about the wolves, what happened. That side of the story, and then deeper still. Past lives and how they can affect us now. And coming into our own when the time is right.

Lexi is probably one of the best authors for world building without fluff building. No extra hyperbole for this author. You need all the information she gives you.

Levi is so perfect for Jude, keeps him grounded, focused and he’s completely dedicated to him. And for Jude, he was so lost with out his other half, like his soul was missing. Now, together they are this one amazing due fighting the bad, saving the cubs and wining my heart.

I liked this book, I really did, but I feel like the blurb is very misleading.

When we start this book we find Jules living with his brother and his brother's partner. He's already settled in with his life and I feel like there was part of the story that started in the first book (which I haven't read). However, you CAN read this book as a stand-a-lone I just felt like I was missing out on something....

The start was a little slow and a little confusing, but I hung in there and I was glad I did. Even though there was still some bits missing, I enjoyed what I was reading and I feel like that extra information will show up in future novels.

The characters were great but I wanted to know more about the paranormals of this world (but it might have been explained better in the first book).

I'll definitely be reading the first book in the series and keeping an eye out for the third (hopefully there is one!)

This the second book.

Wow! I can't say enough about this story.  Starts out a little slow with Jude described as a kinda shy and a push over.  He acts whiny and just not what I would expect for a main character.

That all changes when he meets up with Levi again.  With the change Levi has gone through he is now a tough and  aggressive werewolf.  The changes that Jude undergoes are extreme.  Things take off and everything starts happening page after page.

There is something for everyone in this book, magic, angels, evil, and paranormal critters.  I can't wait for the next book in this series!  The characters from book one are in this with minor roles.

2.5/3*
I won this in a bundle of books and would not normally be my choice of genre.
It is book 2and I would suggest if you are going to read, definitely read in order as there is a lot that must have happened which reflects through or is referred to.
I did struggle to get into the story, especially as it is a bit out of my comfort paranormal level. Once we got into the wolf pack then the druids and I got some more interactions to hook into, then it got a bit better for me.
However, further through the book brings more species and characters which must have come from book 1 so I gained and lost!!
For fans of such paranormal worlds and species I can imagine that this is a great story and I would have expected a further book must be forthcoming.

I haven't read the first book yet. I ran across this one in my GIANT to-read folder and I am sooo glad I did! I think this might just be my favorite by this author so far. Wonderful blending of fantasy, paranormal, and romance all rolled into one.

I always enjoy reading books by Lexi Ander. This book is a supernaturally good read. if you have read the first book in the i.o.n series then you have to follow up with the second book and read a little about Beck and Diego to find out how they are progressing. But the focus of this book is on Beck's brother Jude and the love of his life or several lifetimes. A werewolf newly named Ulric.

Reading this book reminded me how much I like this author’s work. It’s such a shame that it appears that many of her series including this one are destined to remain incomplete. Still I really did enjoy this story. The book is mainly told from Jude’s perspective though we do get bits from Beck’s perspective also. I loved the connection between Levi and Jude. I do think I would have enjoyed this book a bit more if I had read the first one in the series before reading this one. It wasn’t strictly necessary. I was able to follow along okay but I think the background information from the first book would have been helpful. The book ends with many loose ends and it’s a shame because seeing how the book came out in 2016, it doesn’t look like we’ll get answers anytime soon.

Wow I received this book for an honest review from Net Galley and had been drawn to it also from my amazon recommendations they must know me well!!
I decided to buy the 1st book so that I kept to the storyline and I'm glad I did this follows on well from the 1st story and keeps with Diego and Beck but this time follows Beck's POV which was great. We also got to meet his younger brother Jude living with him after his parents kick him out for being gay. He is trying to heal from hurt believing his lover has left him.
He is opened up more to the supernatural and learns more about himself.
I was gripped from the beginning and love all the characters so much I honestly can't wait for the next book to be released.

From Magnolia Reviews: Three Petals

I'm noticing a theme with this series: I'm really enjoying reading each book because they're interesting and overall well written, however the story lacks so much description that I feel like I'm missing something. I liked this story so I recommend it, but there were too many holes for me to give it high marks.

I loved this sequel it was better that book 1 by expanding the mythology of this universe. I loved Jude and his love for Levi that was unbreakable no matter how much time passed. It was great meeting new secondary characters that will have their own story in the future. The main villain introduced in book 1 is still active in this book but he is still not defeated. We do get a surprise appearance from a character that disappeared in book 1.
