Lately I've been interested in aromatherapy. This book is cute and fun to read. Basic information which is good for beginners. I like her recommended blend recipes but am a bit skeptical on essential oils' benefits, especially for internal use (congestion) and free radical killing. She also suggests rubbing in oils on foot soles for good absorption which other aromatherapist (Tisserand) may disagree, saying that foot soles are very thick skin with very little oil content, making it hard for oil essentials to get through. I don't know. I'm not an expert. Overall, a cute and fun book to read.
There are many better books out there about using essential oils in a safe and effective manner. This one is too light on actual safety information or science. It does have a few good recipes, but I found that to be its only redeeming feature.
I'm always interested in learning more about essential oils. This book was really informative and it is one that I will go back to for reference. Lots of interesting aromatherapy topics and education. Definitely a great book to pick up if you have an interest in essential oils or use them.
Simple explanations about essential oils and the many different ways to use them. Tons of recipes for roller bottles, dropper bottles, sprays, diffusers, infused waters and more. Definitely a great introduction because she explains the basics so well.
Great information. Jen O'Sullivan covers a lot of topics concerning the use of essential oils. I learned so much about purity, synergies, discovering my needs, etc. I made a lot of markings with my colored pencils and I will refer to this book often.
