This is considered the definitive book on hydroponic food production (I know the title says as much, but this is the hydro community's general opinion too). I am a home gardener with an interest in the subject, so I decided to start with the most recommended book. I can see why it's highly rated. It's extremely thorough, starting with plant biology and going through all the various growing mediums with meticulous attention to detail.

I felt that the title is slightly misleading. The book really focuses on information related to large scale commercial gardening. The home gardener would have to be very advanced indeed to require the depth of information provided in this book.

If you are looking for what amounts to a textbook on hydroponics, this is ideal for you. The theory is all here and the information is solid.

I will give it a try later this week. It is way too technical and scientific for me; however, it is worth a new try as I really want to harvest my own stevia.
