Beloved Bondage

Rate this book
Rome in the time of Caligula was a land of sumptuous excess and barbarous cruelty unparalleled by any other known society. The execution of the emperor's orders was absolute and swift until one woman fought the court's enormous power so she could follow the voice of her conscience...and the call of her heart.

She was his mistress

Mira purchased Lucas to save him from fighting in Rome's gladiator arena. The blond Briton, once a proud warrior prince in his native country, would serve her well as a household guard. But before she realized it, Mira found herself aching to surrender to his uncompromising gaze and forbidden touch, as he thrilled her with sensuous delights that rivaled the most dazzling offerings of a Roman feast!

I give extra points to authors who at least try something different. In this case its for author Katharine Kincaid setting her HR during the ancient Roman empire.

Lucas is abducted from his homeland of Britannia and forced to compete as a gladiator in Rome. Soft-hearted Miri buys the blond giant in order to save him. She appoints Lucas as bodyguard to her aging husband. Unfortunately that crazy emperor Caligula needs some quick cash and Miri's family is in his crosshairs. With her husband dead and her life in danger, Lucas must fight in the arena to save Miri from becoming a living torch.

And if Gladiator fight scenes aren't your cup of tea there's also a Ben Hur chariot race scene. Still not enough? Then how about some early day Christianity thrown into the mix with an appearance by the one and only Luke.
