This is the first poetry of Bulosan's I've enjoyed. The dedication to his brother Auelio was truly moving. It is written during WWII, after the fall of Bataan. It is a popular front vision of WWII as the good war, and Japan as a martial society. The prologue is a moving "metrical paraphrase of the farewell radio message from Corregidor delivered by Lt.
