In 1978 Steve and Susan moved to Central California to plant a church in the town of Arroyo Grande. For the past thirty-eight years Steve has been the senior pastor. He has watched the church grow from a small home Bible study to a vibrant fellowship that ministers to individuals and couples from many different backgrounds. As Steve s ministry matured God began to give him a special desire to teach married couples. Both Steve and his wife came from single parent homes, which motivated them to focus on the need to keep marriages healthy and growing. Because of the many requests from couples for more comprehensive instruction in solving their marital problems, Steve authored the book, Married And How To Stay That Way. This resource contains a treasury of encouragement and instruction addressing all the essential issues in marriage based solely on God s Word. To assist others involved with marriage counseling Steve has also written a counseling manual entitled Counseling Couples in Crisis. This manual catalogs the essential principles of biblical counseling, pre-marital issues, and ongoing counseling within the marriage relationship. In addition, Steve writes a semi-annual marriage publication, Covenant Keepers, which has an international circulation to over a thousand churches with translation in Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Dutch, Tamil, and Romanian. Steve s newest book Winning Your Personal Battles addresses the greatest struggles in the Christian life and how to overcome them. Each chapter covers a different topic and shows you how to conquer those recurring issues. Steve and his wife have been married for over forty-three years and have two sons and one daughter. Steve continues to serve as senior pastor of Calvary Chapel Arroyo Grande, California.
