So after all the battles and engagements, the liaisons with the Singaporeans, and the treaties with the Hroom, this has all lead to this final book. The Hroom have come to support Tolvern, but she is left hanging at her moment of need by McGovern, and decides that the need of Sentinel 3 is too great, taking the Hroom and Blackbeard to assist them. Unbeknownst to her, there are games afoot in the Hroom fleet, and Mose Drys is no longer in command of his fleet. Further to this, Admiral Drake and D ...more

I was a much bigger Michael Wallace fan when he was writing the Righteous series. I want to like his military SF, but it's a slog and a lot harder for me to read (I have a problem with a lot of military SF in that it might be good SF, but isn't very good when it comes to the military aspect). I found the Sentinel trilogy less compelling than the Starship Blackbeard books, which weren't as good as Crow Hollow or the Dark Citadel books. I won't be following to see where his military SF next takes ...more

Series An Annoyingly Bad Read

Before even attempting to read Book 3, please look at both the descending number of reviewers of Book 1 & 2 of the series, and the critical, non-"bot" or sycophantic reviews. The author is a terrible writer and these really bad eBooks are headache inducing.

Great Series

Fast paced. Interested in learning what becomes of the Apex aliens. This is the second series I've read from MW, the other being the Dark Citadel, both kept me entertained right to the end

WallAce has a wonderfully mind

It seem to follow a twisting turning road of species evolution. That most would not think of and he keeps the conflicts that creates between species elegant and a believable representation

Quite a ride

The sentinel trilogy is a well written series that entices readers into an intriguing universe full of daunting heroes and inhuman villains. The battle scenes are graphic and well written. All in all, a good read.

Great Military Space Saga

Sentinel is a fantastic sequel to the Blackbeard trilogy. This trilogy is packed with action and great strategy. The character development is great as is the writing. I sure hope there is more in the near future.

The first book is by far the best, a colony separated from its civilisation, slowly going insane. The rest of the books are kind of generic.
