Good follow up on Ravenmarked

I really liked the first book in the Taurin Chronicles, but only stumbled across its sequel by chance long after having stopped checking for a follow up.
This book picks up where the last book stopped and continues the story in much the same style. So, if you liked the first one you will likely enjoy Bloodbonded as well.
Allshada takes a bit more of a front seat, showing himself to be stronger than even the Morrag, but the story avoided becoming too preachy.

Recommends it for: Any reader of Epic Fantasy
The Hard Life of an Interior Novel

The role of the interior novel in a series is to advance the overall arc without giving too much away, while giving enough away that we readers are intrigued, anxious to keep reading. Bloodbonded, the long-awaited sequel to Ravenmarked, book one of the Taurin Chronicles. And the wait was indeed well-rewarded with an excellent page-turner, following the further adventures of Connor and Mairead - and some other old friends as well.

What I liked: First off, simply having this book on-screen to read. And what a treat. This is a long book - and when it comes to epic fantasy, the longer the better, I think. This is a complex story, following multiple threads. Therefore it's written

I had been eagerly awaiting this book for a long time, and was not disappointed! Just as was the case with Ravenmarked, Ms. Davis' style pulls me in quickly and I find myself having those moments during the day that we all have when reading something really engaging that we love...thinking about what comes next in the story while dealing with the mundane details of life, and doing a shoddy job folding the laundry in order to get back to the book! I can't wait for the next book! ...more
