I enjoyed this book and the previous one, too, but there were so many loose ends, I had a difficult time determining my final rating. I'm hoping for a third book to resolve my questions. The writing is lovely and descriptive, the historical details and characterization are nicely done, so I won't hesitate to read a sequel, if one is on the horizon. ...more

Fantastic Historical Time Travel!

The two-book series was historically entertaining and coupled with time travel made it more realistic. I look forward to a sequel with Jane's childhood friend, Bryce, as the main character to find out what happened to him after his apparent return to 2013.

Wonderful Series

I have enjoyed this series and the premise. This is a unique point of view, and well written. I hope there will be more.

The Lover’s Eye, the second book in the series, is a masterful work by a brilliant author. I just finished about 5 minutes ago and was telling a couple of book friends about it. I call Matthew Hopkins the Mr. Darcy of the 1860. I love him. His proposal was I believe on par or better than that of Mr. Darcy. Which is saying something because he has been a book crush for ages. I do believe I have a new book crush. Shhhh...don't tell my husband ;) As for the story I give it a 4 out of 5 on goodreads. Only because I wasn't as interested in Sophie and Ben. I understand their impo

Everything is going about the evolution of Jane and Bryce. What time you you are in or what time you should be in? I'm delighted to tell you that the second book is as stimulating as the first book. Ms. Best has done wonders in this second book and I am giving a 10 AWESOME DAWSON points. Thank you for keeping me busy worrying about you next book mjm
