My original idea was to create a sequel that felt like the first book. My first draft of this novel was much more lighthearted and reminiscent of the more playful scenes in Deadly Rhymes. However, I realized I had to take Sheree into a darker place, both physically and mentally, in order to fulfill some of the Easter eggs I hid in the first book of this trilogy, and decided to scrap everything except the prologue.
