Gage Hughes just wants to protect the Allie, the girl he secretly loves from the super powered stalker that just murdered an entire family in their home town.
Allie Newfield is trying to learn more about Lucas, the new kid in town who saved her life with his superhuman abilities.
Lucas Black came to town with one thing in mind: Kill Gage.
Born and raised in Brooklyn NY, Vincent Morrone now resides in Upstate NY with his wife. (Although he can still speak fluent Brooklynese.) His twin daughters remain not only his biggest fans, but usually are the first to read all of his work. Their home is run and operated for the comfort and convenience of their dogs.
Vincent has been writing fiction, poetry and song lyrics for as long as he can remember, most of which involve magical misfits, paranormal prodigies and even on occasion superheroes and their sidekicks.
As they say in Brooklyn: Yo, you got something to say to Vincent? Check out http://vincentmorrone.com/ where you can learn about Vincent and leave him a comment.
When I began I wasn’t sure where the book was going or if I would like it. I was wary. After the first chapter I was still wary but excited. I had questions lots of questions. What’s up with Lucas? What is Gage? why is he a goof? what is the deal with Allie? Why can Gage show so emotion when his biological parents had none or didn’t know they did? Who is the threat?
I wanted answers. that is the sign of a book that will be good. A book that is good puts little carrots out there and leaves you wondering as you read. You have questions that need answers and you don’t want to put the book down until they are. As the book goes on the danger, excitement and questions increase.
The characters are real and sweet. Even Lucas although at first you want to smack him upside the head. Once you get to know him and see why he is being a jerk you feel for him. You also hope that he realizes that he is wrong before he hurts someone and its too late.
Gage is sweet, kind and caring. He loves wholeheartedly and his crush on Allie is precious. He is so shy about telling her but when he does it is wonderful. She kind of hurts him though and he takes it with a smile. He still protects and cares for her no matter what. He blames himself for things when it comes to her pain or danger.
Allie I am on the fence about. She is kind and caring. But she can be lost in herself as well. When gage makes a mistake she is very unrelenting and only thinks of herself. granted she was made but still this is Gage and he is going through things as well and Allie doesn’t think about that. I love the love Allie has for her brother. I love her capacity to care and be kind to everyone. I love her loyalty.
the plot is intriguing. We have humans and new humans and the offspring of the new humans. We have the concept of why new humans where created and their purpose. We have the danger to them and their offspring. And the mystery of Allie’s brother. We have a master that freaks me out and is dangerous. We have Lucas and Gage as part of all this but how no one knows. We have the story of Lucas and Gage and Lucas’s parents. We have murder and who did it and why? We have the romance and friendship of Allie and Gage. All this weaves nicely together to create a book that keeps you engaged from beginning to end as you have questions answered and left with more. You wonder what is next for this group of friends, family and where the relationship with Gage and Allie will go.

This is one of the most cliché books that I have ever read but it never seems to get old because I am always 'AWWW-ing' at every other part. But on the others, it had my heart breaking or jumping at the new unexpected thing.
Let's meet the main characters that show their POV: Allie is funny, she's brave, pretty, and smart. Torn between two guys. Lucas is hot and conceited but doesn't he know it, falling in love with a girl because of his mysterious connection with her. Gage is a pink-turning goofball that has loved a girl since he first saved her.
I mean, cue the cliché high school story. Goofy kid has feelings for one of the prettiest and sweetest girls in school. Cue the bad boy the moves into town. Cue all of the girls to go gaga over him. Cue the adventures. Cue the romance. Cue the heartbreak. Cue the suspenseful ending.
I will rate this a 4.5 stars. I loved the book and do think that you should check it out. However, if you are not into the extreme sci-fi/cliché high school story then I don't think the book is for you. I enjoyed it throughly however.
Cheers to the future publication of Perfect because that is truly what this book is.

This book was really intense and heart-racing!
My favorite character is Gage because he is really sweet, powerful and kind. He cares about Allie and protects her. She understands him and vice versa.
This is beyond just a Sci-Fi novel, it had a real coming of age type feel to it as well. Vincent Morrone has brought to life very multi-dimensional characters and given them a purpose.
The world he has created is so vivid and really helps the reader feel like they are there with the characters.
A strong and fast paced plot will keep you invested the entire way through.
Ladies and gentlemen, Vincent Morrone has done it again. Although I have never been disappointed in Vincent's work, this novel quickly became my favorite. It's an original & exciting mix of believable fantasy and sweet romance, full of twists and turns that I definitely did not see coming.
I was supremely impressed with the tone, pacing, and wording of the novel. Morrone writes with obvious skill and experience. He has crafted a novel with an exceptional plot that readers of all genres will enjoy, especially those who are fans of the series I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore, which the novel reminds me of. But in comparison with Perfect, Morrone trumps the popular series with the fact that many things that the series lacks, Morrone's novel has! What I loved most, was the fact that Perfect features an exciting love triangle that keeps you changing your mind. Normally, I don't like love triangles, but in this case, Morrone had me eating out of his hand. It was believable and realistic and I couldn't decide between the two male characters- not to mention, because of his supreme writing skills, the love triangle stayed balanced until the very end. I was so glad this novel was written that way. I am so used to novels where a love triangle is present and where the author makes it blatantly clear who the protagonist is going to choose early in the story. Thankfully, that was not the case with this novel.
Another thing that I greatly enjoyed was the plot twists in the story. Not only was the plot fantastic in itself, with a grand mix of fantasy, action, drama, comedy and romance, but the plot twists within it were completely unexpected. Not to mention the last 20 or so pages simply blew me away. And that cliffhanger... Simply amazing.
I definitely recommend this novel to readers of all ages. This novel is exciting and new, full of fantasy, romance, and unexpected plot twists with every turning page. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel (as I have enjoyed every novel written by Morrone before) and I cannot wait for the sequel.
