Another gem of a tale by Lisa Ann Verge. Sing Me Home was part road trip romance (my absolute favorite), part self discovery (for both hero and heroine) that featured a menagerie of characters, a sweeping love story full of banter and heart, a performing squirrel (no, seriously and his name was Nutmeg) and a lot of dirty jokes (as only a trope of minstrels could deliver).

I particularly enjoyed how headstrong and naive Maura started out as in the beginning and how over time and through new experiences, she changed and grew into a well rounded, but still hilariously mouthy, young woman. And Colin, sweet, charming and noble to a fault Colin was her perfect match and did a lot of growing up himself. Couples that are made better from having known each other are always the best kind in my opinion.

Lisa Ann Verge is skillful in the art of creating a world within her books that completely captures you until you never want to leave. Her ability to seamlessly weave tales of love, tragedy, sacrifice, hope and humor is one of the best I've come across in recent experience. She's definitely earned a spot of my keeper authors shelf after this.

I wasn't particularly fond of either character. Maura makes a decision around the halfway point that seems so out of character for her. I have liked other Lisa Ann Verge books but the tone of this one felt different.

Started out okay - had promise! Though it lack depth- a lot of crude sex talk - they never say they love each ever - though it’s assumed - the relationship seems more based on lust!? The intimate parts just seemed boring & nothing special, it was if they could have been having sex with anyone, no fireworks. I won’t be reading anymore from this author.

I was pleasantly surprised that the story turned out as it did. It wasn't as predictable as I thought it would be. The little twists kept me entertained and rooting for the HEA. Great story-telling.

Maura is a foundling left on the nuns steps. Colin is a wandering minstrel calling himself King Collin

Maura is a runaway foundling. Raised by nuns but not wanting to go into the church or marry the butchers son. Colin is the wandering minstrel with the musicians going through town. She needs a group to travel with and to help her learn how to live outside the covent. Once Colin hears her sing he knows she is the key to the rich English castles to which he needs access. Fate steps in from there to bring an exciting historical romantic story to life. Really should have seven stars.

Ireland under the English, an Irish warrior bent on revenge, a convent bred innocent in search of knowledge of her family, a troupe of entertainers. All these things come together to make an interesting story, well written, at times funny and very touching. I enjoyed this one as I have others by this author.

Truly good read!

This is a sensual historical romance novel with an original plot. Every time I thought I knew what was going to happen I was mistaken. What a breath of fresh air! What creativity on the author's part.

Not only that, but it's a sensual romance story fraught with comedic dialogue.

A Fine Romance with an honest earthy song and rhyme to it. Funny and ever so witty also with a mysterious identity and even more puzzling parentage to add spice into the already lively mix. Well~written.

Very Creative

First book by this author and was very pleased. Take a young woman who was a foundling on the steps of a nunnery, add a blue eyed casenova plus a group of misfits, your bound to get a really interesting storyline. Thoroughly enjoyed.

This author does an exceptional job of drawing you into her stories. The heroine in this story was a foundling from a convent. She leaves the convent to join a traveling troupe in Ireland so she can find out something about her real parents. The hero is a rogue who is on a mission to kill the Englishman Lord William Caddell . He promised his dying father he would get revenge. The author takes you on a journey of passion where you will watch this couple fall in love. But love isn't enough to keep them together. The twists in this book had me turning the pages to see what happens next. This is a beautifully written love story that shows passion, intrigue, and with a touch of humor. The side characters make up a troupe of very interesting individuals with a entertaining squirrel, that will have you smiling as you see what they say or do. I love this author and her Historical Romances. I finished her other Historical Romance Heaven In Your Arms which is another 5* read. I'm hoping her other Historical Romances make it to Kindle also! Her books are definitely a one click buy!

I wasn't real certain about this novel in the beginning, but as I read on I became quite captivated by the often poetic style of writing and the clever twists and turns in plot. I like writing that is deeply aware of the environment and the subtlety of formation and reflection in the inner world of the players. This story is such a one.

Muara doesn't know her family, but has a clue given to her from the abbess at the convent she was raised in. She's determined to get to the north and the troupe of minstrels is the best bet. I loved the interplay between Muara and Colin as they travel the road each with their own destination in mind. They couldn't be more different, but opposites do attract. You're going to love how the story unfolds!
