This book is extraordinarily antiquated and relatively religious-focused (even though it passes as secular). An awful lot has happened in the 20 years since this book was published, so keep that in mind if you read it. I don't know what it's like to come out as a teenager, and I don't know what it's like to come out in a very religious, right-wing or disapproving family, but this book assumes that everybody hates gay people and that coming out will be a very difficult thing to do, and that all p ...more
