Angel Investigations: We Help the Helpless "Los Angeles. It's a city like no other....People are drawn here. People, and other things. They come for all kinds of reasons. My reason? It started with a girl."
-- Angel, "City of"
For a hundred years, Angel offered an ugly death to everyone he met. And he did it with a song in his heart. A gypsy curse put a stop to his rampage, but his doomed love of Buffy the Vampire Slayer drove him from Sunnydale on his own quest for redemption.
Fortunately, he's not alone. His support system includes Cordelia Chase, ex-May Queen (just until her inevitable stardom takes effect); Wesley Wyndam-Pryce, Rogue Demon Hunter; and Gunn (Charles Gunn, his name, not his street tag). Their rates are low, and their logo is indecipherable -- but they save people, and stuff.
Award-winning author Jeffrey J. The official series companion, Angel: The Casefiles, Volume 1 is a comprehensive and in-depth look at the WB hit television show. Authors Nancy Holder, Jeff Mariotte, and Maryelizabeth Hart are all well versed in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel (each having written tie-in novels), and provide character descriptions, actor profiles, and an episode guide for seasons 1 & 2. Each episode is broken down into a plot summary followed by highlight sections that include who the Client was, what Weaponry was use, Soundtrack lists, and the Demons that appeared. Also included, are interviews with various cast and crew that discuss such things as the casting process, make-up effects, music ques, and location scouting. Additionally, the writing style has a bit of attitude to it; incorporating some of the witticisms and humor of the show. Though at times, the amount of information being thrown around can be overwhelming, and more detailed than the average fan would care for. Yet overall, Angel: The Casefiles, Volume 1 is a fantastic guide to this extraordinarily compelling television show.
Features Angel’s Seasons 1 and 2. Synopsis of each episode along with tidbits on and off the screen. Also character chapters for each actor updating where they came from and where they’re at “now” (after season 2).
