A good comprehensive reference guide to the figures mentioned in the Bible, both the ones we’ve all heard about and the more obscure ones. It’s an intriguing book and a useful resource for any student of the Bible.

This book has every single person ever listed in the Bible, plus people who aren't there but are influential for the time. It took me a month to read.

Note of disclosure, the author of this book was a predecessor of mine at a church I served in. That said, this is a fabulous resource for a quick reference into the history of Biblical characters. I used it often in seminary to help get my bearings. Usable by clergy and lay alike.
