In Book 2 of the Sherlock Jones Jr. Detective Series, Sherlock and his friend Penny Gordon walk in on a robbery in progress at their town s only bank. The robbers cleverly frame one of the kids good friends, who feels helpless to clear his name. As Sherlock painstakingly pursues his investigation he finds a clever cover up and an inside job. Sherlock employs some smart and very bold maneuvers as he collects information to corner the robbers, including a disguise that even completely fools Penny herself. Sherlock cracks a seemingly fool-proof case, to right the wrongs in Willoughby once again. A fun mystery that reminded me of Alfred Hitchcock and the 3 investigators books. Enjoyed the plot and the kid characters. A great mystery for kids to read.
two children standing outside a bank see a bank robbery happen! the lad just so happens to be a detective of sorts and he is able to sift out the clues while law enforcement arrests the wrong man. (frightful) includes some mentions of faith which are sad.
I believe that this was a great book. I love books like this that contain drama and detective work. It was interesting to find out that their friend was being framed. It was also interesting to see their dynamic as a team. They helped solve the case. Overall I think this was a great book and I recommend it. I noticed that Sherlock is very skillful with his detective work. I wonder how it would really feel to solve a serious case. I think that Penny and Sherlock work great together. If I were a detective I would work very hard and try to solve every case. I'm not sure if I would be as good of a detective as Sherlock.
