The forty projects in this book, working from basic to more complicated, add up to a pretty comprehensive course on cloth doll making, from simple rag dolls, through button and bead jointing, fixed figures, needle sculpting, making of latex masks and so forth.

The projects are very bright and late 1990s in style, but easy to customise. Techniques are clearly explained and illustrated, Really, for a beginning doll maker, I couldn't recommend this book more. As I work through and adapt some of the patterns, I feel like I am actually learning.

My little boy loves the simple, expressive rag doll so much that I've made it twice for him, and he is asking for another one.

Anyone interested in making soft bodied dolls of all types would enjoy this book. Patterns and instructions are given to make a wide variety of dolls but this is just a starting point for your own original creations.
