Emotionally charged story about finding your place, your destiny, growing up to be the person you are supposed to be and taking on responsibility.
I was enthralled with the honest inside look into the rodeo world the story gives us. There are the glorious moments from eight to fifteen seconds where adrenaline is high and the crowds are cheering, when you are at the top of the world, or at least on top of the bull or a horse, and life is great. But there are also those moments when the doubts, wor

This exciting and vivid romance features a young lady who is determined to be a world champion barrel rider, chasing the rodeos to qualify. As Jen has a learning disability that makes reading difficult for her, she is not sure what she'll do after she has to quit rodeo - other girls might attend college. For now, she cares for her grey horse Diamond and stays away from the men.

But one bull-rider in particular might prove a distraction. Colt is a fine sportsman, but when his business-running par

Normally, I don't gravitate to books about barrel and bull riders, but I'm glad I picked this one out via NetGalley. It was a fun read, and this plot line is not something I've seen before (rakish bull rider is in love with his barrel riding friend, she loves him back, but he's too much of a player for them to take it further. And throw in the rich, yet distant bull rider's family and half-sister he's now guardian of on a permanent basis).

Some of the plot lines seemed to resolve a little quickly

liked this one all the way to the last few pages... when the formerly-dedicated heroine decides to just chuck her entire life's goal (barrel racing championship) right when she is about to win it all... because the angsty hero wants her to give it all up & just be "the little woman"... apparently, it is expected that she support him in his life goals, but it's just too hard for him to return the support-favor... she *should* have finished her racing season (only another week or so), collected he ...more

Colt and Jen are close friends on the rodeo circuit. Colt gets around with the ladies. Jen doesn't want to be another notch on his bed post. But she can't stop thinking about him or flirting with him.
Colt likes Jen, but she's the marriage type. He doesn't need that right now. One ohone call changes his life forever. Will Jen share it with him?
The book was a fantastic quick read. It sucks you right in at the beginning. The characters are real strong and they have great chemistry. This book contai

April Arrington is a hit or miss author for me. This was hit. Her voice has improved with every installment of the Men of Raintree Ranch, and The Bull Rider's Cowgirl held my attention from page one. Jen's fears of not being good enough, and of ending up like her mother, working long hours in a diner for a meager salary, eat away at her. She is determined to win big in the rodeo finals in Vegas, hoping to use the prize money to make a more comfortable life for both herself and her

Jen has been in love with Colt since they met on the circuit years ago, she barrel races and Colt is a bull rider. They have always looked out for each other along with his cousin Tammy but a month or two ago she got brave and tried to get Cole to see her as just a friend. Cole brushed her off and went out with someone else and now they are not too close at all.
Cole has been attracted to Jen from the beginning but she is a forever girl, marriage and children and white picket fences so when she

Colt & Jen have known each other for 4 years. While there was an attraction there, they remained close friends because Colt was a player and she didn't want to go there, but after a drunken kiss one night, Colt quickly put a stop to it and just wanted to remain friends. Hurt, Jen has since tried to put the attraction to rest but all that changes when Colt is made guardian of his young sister Meg and she steps in to help him. There were times that I was frustrated at Colt - especially in the begi ...more

Really enjoyed this read.

Sure, you could see the path the story would take, but I didn't mind that.
And I was glad to not have a whole bunch of angst or stupid illogical decisions to deal with. :)

THE BULL RIDER'S COWGIRL is another great romance by April Arrington in her Men of Raintree Ranch series!

I'm digging Colt so much that he's rivaling my Logan (Book 2's hero in THE RANCHER'S WIFE, and yes, I said "MY" Logan) for top Raintree Man. I love this couple-- Jen, with her red hair and fiery attitude to match, is trying to impress everyone and break the cycle of generations before her with her mad, award-winning, barrel-riding skills. Colt is dealing with all the emotions of his past and

Jen is a barrel racer and is so close to success of winning is so close she could taste it, she sacrificed so much for this. Colt Mead a friend and bullrider shes close to had a death in the family that leaves him going back to see his 9-year-old sister she joins him for support its only supposed to be a weekend, and she deserves some rest. Little did she expect to care for him and his family causing her to long for family life, the family life she left in order to succeed as a barrel racer.

A pretty fast romance read. I found that I really enjoyed it, especially considering so of the other romance books I have read lately that did not have likable protagonists.
