I have read "Magicians' Workshop" by J. R. Fehr and liked it much. He has mastery over dystopian cum fantasy world. He creates a fantastical concept that can give a good reading experience.

Skyblind is the story of Anancia. A country which was ruled by God Syrris and his caretakers who were known as Elders. Corwin and Taylee were siblings living with their uncle Jael in outskirts. Things were normal and filled with hard work. They were okay with life. But on their 16th birthday, they received a r
Can we ever have enough great children’s fantasy reading? Enter J.R. Fehr’s world filled with adventure, a quest and magic, lots of magic. SKYBLIND will spark the imaginations of younger readers as well as adults as twins Corwin and Taylee accidentally activate an ancient relic with a connection to their long dead mother. The world they become part of is filled with deceit, treachery and greed, as they become determined to discover what this relic means and what powers it possesses. How could th ...more

Wow. First off, I absolutely loved this story. Think in terms of a cross between the world Harry Potter and The Lord of The Rings and you have a wonderful new world with an exciting plot.

The story follows the journey of Corwin and his twin sister Taylee. They accidentally activate an old relic that was somehow connected to their mother. When they go in search of their uncle for help, they are caught up in a web of deception and greed. They follow the path and end up at face to face with the god

There are many things to enjoy about this author’s debut offering, but the highlights are plot and character. Those more attentive to the art of creating characters will be delighted by the depth and sincerity of the characters in this story, and find them relating to the well depicted aches and joys of the universal human experience. Those not as picky will simply come to love one or more of the characters, depending of course, of the character of the reader.

Skyblind is a brilliant adventure story that will capture the imagination of young readers, and even awaken childlike feelings of mystery and discovery in us older ones. With a bold, fast-moving storyline, and plenty of twists along the way, J.R. Fehr has created a world worthy of an expanded universe that stays with you long after you’ve put the book down.

Skyblind is everything you could wish for in a great story: captivating characters, fast-paced plot, and a fully realized fantasy world with magic, mystery, romance, and swashbuckling action. But there’s something more here, too: a transcendent quality. This tale is shot through with glimmers of ravishing, otherworldly light.

‘Skyblind’ is exciting from beginning to end. The author creates such relatable and lovable characters in the Medisto siblings, relaying their journey through old and new lands and their plight between right and wrong. They, along with the other characters, are forced to question everything they’ve ever known and given the opportunity to rewrite history. Theirs is the story of humanity itself, a search for love, identity and absolute truth in the midst of deception and the toughest of trials.

Skyblind was a captivating book with an engaging plot. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book, and finished it within a day. The fast-paced story was very complex, yet easy to read. The book portrayed a fearful future where humans recoil to feudalism after the downfall of civilization from greed. The ending was thought provoking and suggested the possibility of many more out there. This enthralling adventure kindled the innocence of love between family and friends, and created a magical realm for ...more

Finally a book by someone who understands young adults! I don't get much time to read anymore, but this is such a page turner and I loved it. The girl character, Taylee, is so much like my best friend it is hilarious! I am in my last year of high school and this book really helped me through some personal stuff. Great message in the end too. Highly recommended! ...more
