Jessa was just dumped by text and for someone who has such an open heart, she sure has trouble finding someone to love her back.
Ever since Lance's mother left without looking back, he's been a love them for one night and leave them.
When Lance needs help watching his father, Jessa is there and he's starting to enjoy her at his home more than he should.

Hometown Cowboy is such a wonderful book, and I was BLOWN away by how much that I actually enjoyed this book here. It really REALLY shocked me. I don't even know why I haven't even checked out this author before. I blame picking this one up on my library, because it was on one of their feature shelves down their romance section, and boy I decided to just take a chance and grab it up since I have seen so many positive thoughts on this author

This is the first book I have read by Sara, but it won't be my last because I really enjoyed this cute read. It was a quick and satisfying, (mostly) fluffy read. Reviewed for herding cats & burning soup.

Hometown Cowboy was an easy introduction into the Rocky Mountain Riders. Sexy cowboy, a heroine who's a dreamer and rescues animals, chocolate, a darling little pig, family struggles and mending broken relationships. Hometown Cowboy was a tempting introduction to the Rocky Mountain Riders.

The gist of it is that Lance is training for a huge rodeo competition and is having trouble concentrating because of worry over his dad. So

I downloaded this on a whim, looking for some new sorbet authors.

I really liked Jessa. She's genuinely a good person, loyal, loving and so kind. I truly enjoyed being in her head. Lance is stubborn and stand off ish and maybe a bit cocky and he wears it well. Their UST was off the charts.

The plot was sweet and funny and maybe a bit heartbreaking. Of course there's the angry break up and grand gesture, but it was the epilogue that was the best. And with this great cast of her bffs and

This was truly an enjoyable read. The story-line was cute and funny and really sweet. Not too high on the angst, but a bit heartbreaking at times. Predictable conflict towards the end (because what romance story doesn't have one of those lol) but not boring or cliche. I thoroughly enjoyed my first read by Sara Richardson!

I had so much fun reading this and getting to know Jessa and Lance. It was just so entertaining and sweet. By the end, I was smiling big time!

A hot, stubborn cowboy plus a woman who is trying to avoid love? Those two combined made for such a great story. I loved getting to learn Jessa and Lance’s histories and watch them open up. I thought they had fun chemistry and I liked their flirting and banter. I loved the humor and Jessa’s attitude about love. They both have some issues they were working

Jessa Mae Love is not looking for love at all. She’s way to busy trying to keep her animal shelter open and her role as small town veterinarian keeps her very busy—very busy… too busy to be lusting over the living legend rodeo star in town… nope, definitely too busy for Lance Cortez. Until Lance offers up a proposition she just can’t turn down—keeping an eye on Lance’s dad while Lance trains for the rodeo finals. He’s trying to prove he’s still “got what it takes” on the rodeo circuit and doesn’ ...more

Hometown Cowboy is the first book in the Rocky Mountain Riders series and already I am in love with the characters. Jessa and Lance were easy to love characters. While Lance is preparing for a rodeo he needs to keep his focus on that but when he needs someone to look after his father while he is training he asks Jessa. Jessa helps out but she is starting to become a distraction Lance cant afford which I thought was really cute.

I enjoyed the storyline and was glad it was on the different side o

Good start to a new series. Jesse is a relationship girl. She wants it all. Husband, kids, house and a dog or two. Lance doesn't believe in relationships. After his mom walked out years ago he swore he never love a woman the way his father had. These two shouldn't work but they do.

I highly recommend this one.
Actually really liked Jessa. She's a hopeless romantic, that wants her one true love. But she's also a realist and kind of sassy when the moment needs her to be.
Her relationship with Luis is adorable.
Wasn't a fan of Lance. Mostly just because I didn't really find anything to spark my interest with him.
The romance/relationship between Jessa and him wasn't 100% believable. I didn't feel it.
Nonetheless, a quick read.

I almost didn’t read this story. Really, I was so tempted to skip it. It often seems the books I’ve been waiting on from the library (both online and brick and mortar) all become ready at the same time. I just have so much I have to get through that I don’t want to end up back on the waiting list for any of them after waiting so long. This story was actually attached to another story I read. For some reason, the copy I got of Luckiest Cowboy of All included both that one and this one. S

"Funny how you can remember every detail about the most significant day of your life. Not the best day of your life necessarily, but the day that shaped you, the day that you were forced to find your strength."

For Lance Cortez, this day is when his mother left her family and never came back, letting him, a fourteen years old teen and his two brothers (ten and seven) and their dad to pick up the pieces. It didn't went well and now, Lance live with his father, while his brothers started a new l

"Hometown Cowboy" was an unexpected, emotional ride (and I mean that in a good way). Lance has had the responsibility for the world on his shoulders since his mother left their family when he was 14 years old and he took on the care of his two younger brothers while his father was on the rodeo circuit. As he was just a kid, he made the best choices he could, but they may not have been best all around- such as letting the good, middle child take the fall for the youngest's arson and then having t ...more

**I received a complimentary copy of this book from Grand Central Publishing and Forever Pub but all opinions included are my own.

I’ve never read a Sara Richardson book before, and I haven’t read very many cowboy romances at all—outside of a few Nora Roberts, I think—so Hometown Cowboy was a fun adventure in trying something new.

It was also just a great book: emotional, tender, and sexy, with an adorable heroine and hero who kind of stumble into love.

Carolyn Brown, Luckiest Cowboy of All (#3 of The Happy, Texas Series) - I can't remember if I've ever read one of Ms. Brown's books; I hope so. I love to read any books situated in Texas, except those written by people who don't know anything about us. This is a heartwarming, suspense filled, second chances at love for four interesting people. The fun story moves along at a fast pace and before you know it, the story is finished.

This was fun and quirky. I hated to see all that Lance and his brothers went through. HOw one sacrificed for another and lost so much due to that sacrifice. How one had to grow up so fast and also lose the thought that love is real and relationships work out and how one seemed to breeze through life and just let things be shrugged off.
Lance was a good straight up honest guy. He worked hard and was responsible. He felt the weight of so much on his shoulders. He believed his family, his future an

It's been a few days since I finished this one, so all the details aren't fresh in my mind. But I know it was a cute small-town romance with a great cast of characters.

Jessa is a vet running a shelter that her father started and left to her after his death a year before. She would spend summers with her dad growing up and the other times with her mother (they were complete opposites). She's the type of person who loves quickly and gets her heart broken often. So after her recent breakup (via te

First off having a person 2 years my junior described as old is disquieting. Solo this summer I drove 10,000 miles and hiked mountains at 8000 ft. Careful who you call old!

This is, of course a Cowboy Rodeo Romance. The world class bull rider would have to be impossibly handsome sex on a stick charismatic. The gal would have to be a diamond in the rough to rivet his attention. The sparks that fly short-circuiting brains and limbs get described a few times too often. Having him walk in on her nake

Hometown Cowboy by Sara Richardson is the story of Jessa Mae Love and Lance Cortez's blossoming relationship in the small town of Topaz Falls, Colorado. Although they have known each other since childhood, Lance never thought of Jessa romantically, and Jessa didn't think that Lance was the relationship type... nor was she interested in pursuing any man after already having her heart broken multiple times. She had officially sworn off all men! Jessa is the owner and veterinarian at the financiall ...more

My Review: Although parts of this book had me laughing my butt off there were parts that were just cringe worthy for me. I swear the male POVs of this titles always make me feel like they are going to just grab the women that is making their pants twitch and just take them right then and there. Which to tell you the truth is just a little weird. I asked my husband to read parts of the male POV of this and then asked his honest thoughts on if that is how he felt when he saw a sexy woman and he to ...more

Jessa is done with men and relationships. She has been engaged several times only to be dumped.
Lance is the son of her father's best friend. A cowboy and on the rodeo circuit. Trying to win the World title before retiring like his own dad had done. But the fans and media are calling him a has been and he is out to prove them wrong. Lance's mom had walked out on his dad, him and his brothers when he was a child and they never saw or hear

I found this book a great cute read.

We meet Lance Cortez he's a sexy professional bull rider who at this present time is training for the Worlds. Lance still lives at home with his dad but lately his dad has been acting strangely towards Lance and then wondering off. Lance realises that he knows he needs someone to look after his dad whilst he is training so he enlists the help of his dad's best friends daughter Jessa Love.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, secrets, and heartbreak.

This is Jessa and Lance’s story. Jessa is done with relationships. She is tired of falling. Lance is a player and nowhere near what she should look for in a man. But the pull is there. She is a small-town veterinarian what would he ever see in her anyway? Lance is always moving around. Riding the circuit and taking care of his father he is always on the go. But one look at Jessa has him halting in his
