Bound by honor and by love…

That’s a Montana Man

Ford Kendrick has often dreamed of the day that Jamie Keller would come home to Montana. After high school, she needed to leave—and he, duty-bound to rescue his family’s ranch, pushed her to go. The Army made Jamie a hero, but Ford still sees the gorgeous, loving woman who lit up his whole world.

Every day since she left, Jamie

Ford and Jamie.......

After reading the blurb, I've been waiting for Ford's story with eagerness and anxiety, as well as anticipation. In this installment of the Montana Men is the story of Ford Kendrick and Jamie Keller.

These two were high school sweethearts who went their separate ways due to circumstances that were cruelly fated to them.

Jamie leaves town devastated and Ford dutifully remains behind. By choice. A choice he regrets. Y

I have read many books where the male lead is the one coming back from a war and suffering from PTSD. Yet, I rarely read about the female lead being the war hero. That is what drew me to pick up this book and read it. I will tell you I read in one day. Yes, this book is a one day read! His Cowboy Heart took me on an emotional roller coaster with great characters!

I loved both Ford and Jamie. The sweet nickname that Ford has for Jamie, I could not help but melt at the love behind it. The nickname

“I won’t walk away this time. I won’t send you away. I won’t let you go. I promise.”

*Swoon* Oh, my heart is somewhere between melted like a puddle and happy-smiling-bouncing. Because Ford Kendrick, y'all.

Wait, no. Because Montana cowboys, y'all.

I've loved each and every book in Jennifer Ryan’s Montana Men series—I swear, they get better, or I get more attached, with each new installment—and there's a good reason why.

Unbreakable, passionate romance.

His Cowboy Heart is a sweet, sexy and compel

My heart broke about hundred times while I was reading this story. The torture, the agony, and the pain Jamie Keller lives with, the PTSD she has, was written with such authentic, intense, real way, I felt the raw pain, both physical and mental, of the anguish Jamie lived with. The distress of her soul was enormous, as she seemed lost inside of her terrifying memories.
Ford's presence was the only thing that could pull her out of the living nightmares, just a word or a gentle touch pull her out

Ford Kendrick thought he was doing the right thing when he made it so Jamie Keller could leave their small town. She had to leave. A verbally abusive mother. She needed a new start, even if in giving it to her he had to break her heart and his own. Unable to leave at the time, he knew she had too. He could only hope that one day she came home to him.

Jaimie is back in town, years later, A former soldier, injured, in pain, suffering PTSD. Her life is in shambles. Her mother is still vile. Her bro

Oh Ford, how do I love the…way you look out for Jamie, the way you selfishly let her go so she could make a better life for herself, the way you’ve remained dedicated to her throughout the years, and the way you stepped up without hesitation when she returned and needed you.
Ford, like the other Kendrick brothers, is swoon-worthy. His Firefly (his nickname for Jamie) has always owned his heart, and he has no problem letting it be known. She’s suffering from PTSD, which results in some rather rad

His Cowboy Heart is a very hard book to read for many reasons. It's a mix and neglect from a parent, and PTSD. We also have to throw in lost love, not from death, but no easier to lose. As always, Ryan writes such emotionally intense stories. She writes some of the best hero's. They are always there for the heroine, ready to protect them and cherish them. You won't be able to read a story by her and not feel your hea

Hoo boy! This one hit me close to home. I’ve read plenty of contemporary romance that touch on PTSD and former military characters. Seldom is the character female, and almost never is the issue dealt with in this much depth. So be warned, this book has a LOT of triggers if you are current or former military. As much as I really love the story, there are just some people it could be too painful for.

There are a lot of aspects of this story that you know. You know Ford will not be easily d

I thought I had taken enough of a break from Jennifer Ryan books that maybe I would enjoy this one a bit more than the last few.

I was wrong.

And it's upsetting because at face value, and a couple chapters in even, I was really enjoying it! I thought that Jamie was going to be a great character, and that her scars (both inside and outside) would bring a lot of new elements to the table. I was expecting her to be tough and ballsy and not the typical "tiny feet" JR heroine.

Turns out that every gir

The word bitch was coined to describe Jamie’s bitter, spoiled, taunting mother. Working on her second husband she treats her daughter with contempt and lack of feeling. She reminds me of the domineering wasp-tonged adder who hung over her son’s life in Never a Hero, a book I just finished.

Ford, the middle brother of the Kendrick clan, took over his sister-in-law’s ranch when she married his brother. In this romance he becomes the boy she left behind her. Not that anyone could blame her for esca

This might qualify as my favorite in the series. It’s got everything I love reading: drama, intrigue, passion, angst, hot cowboys, and honorable military personnel. This truly was a second chance for Ford and Jamie to get their relationship right. Lousy timing tore it apart the first time around, but will the second time around survive all the emotional baggage the pair is carrying. One of the things I like best about this series is the small-town feel. Everyone knows each other and isn’t afraid ...more

Touching, Sweet, enlightening story

Excellent story about love, and lives touched by tragedies associated with PTSD. I loved it from beginning to end. Story was well written and told. When Jamie had flashbacks, you could almost see in her head what she was going through. Ford was strong and steady. He and Jamie had been each other’s first loves, but he sent her away due to family obligations. Now he wanted her back. His patience and understanding help bring Jamie back from the edge so she and Fo

His Cowboy Heart

So many of our military men and women come back home wounded, not only in body but in their minds. PTSD has been around as long as there have been people in this world. Ford loved Jamie enough to give her the love and support that she needed to heal. The thing that tore her apart was her lost memory of Tobin shooting her team and her. Some things are just too painful to remember and the mind closes down to protect itself. This was a page turner. If you have the chance------READ I

Ford has everything he needs to build his new life - except for the girl he sent away all those years ago. She needed to get out of town and away from her abusive mother. He had to stay and help his family's ranch keep from going under.
She returns, battered, damaged but not broken by war. Danger has followed her, though and the minefield of her lost memories is one that she will need to walk through with Ford's help. This is a happy ending for one couple and a promise of something else for anoth

Cost both so much..... (small spoiler alert!)

His Cowboy Heart caused them so much suffering and cost them so much time and loss. As good as the author’s other books in this series. Love her books and read all as soon as I can.
The last of the Kendrick brothers gets his HEA and Grandpa Sammy finds his own happiness. A look at PTSD that is raw, but shows that the “experts” don’t have all the answers.

Couldn't put it down

It was nice to see a book about a female vet. To see her struggles with what she endured and to see what happened with her and Ford. I can't wait for Zac's book and I hope a book about Drake. I could tell you all about this book but I want you to buy it and read it for yourself.

Wow. Heartwarming and heart-wrenching romance with a soldier suffering from PTSD and the cowboy she loves. Sometimes not the easiest story to read because of the emotions it invoked, but I loved it.

I appreciated a book about a female solider. I think it's the first I've read. The book also dealt with PTSD which I appreciated. I put the book down for the weekend and didn't pick it up again. It just didn't pull me in.

She writes a heart felt book, and she gives an authentic description of what a soldier has to deal with, and it happens to both men and women. I think sometimes we forget that women are soldiers too!

A solid addition to the MT series. It has all the typical elements of a Jennifer Ryan story. Excellent characterization and background, and a hint of suspense and danger. This one was pretty much staight forward without many surprises.
