I got both books as part of the tour, and dived right into Sparrows the instant I was finished with Sovereign. Did I enjoy it as much? Not quite.

At three stars, this is the lowest rating I've given any book in this series - even though I still really enjoyed reading it and in no way has it put me off reading the rest - for two reasons.

One; repetition. We had the "magical mates who hate each other but are fused together by magic" plot in Sovereign with Asher and Emery. Okay, they didn't hate each

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

The last book ended at a very interesting scene and I had been looking forward to reading the sequel ever since. The author knows how to prolong the agony of the reader and also quench their thirst for romance, magic and action. The story continues in this book along different paths.

I have been aggravated by Sarita and Cassidy at times but not as much as in this book. They are so stubborn and they had me cursing most times. But I feel when

To read or not to read: Read. Whilst not quite as powerful as Song of Sovereign, Song of Sparrows certainly continues the Songs of Everealm series brilliantly. The plot was just as good as the previous, and the dynamic between the pairings, especially Jake and Calista, was amazing, but it just felt like it was lacking something. Despite that, I definitely recommend the read and can’t wait to read the third book in the series!

Continues the wild ride and fun from songs of Everealm. I feel for all the guys in this book. Cassidy is nursing his wounds and trying to find hope but also move on. Asher is lost and confused and at the end when he finally realizes he needs Emery he is thrown a loop. Sarita is on her grand adventure for magic, gets a realization in many categories including Cassidy but here is still in denial and is trying to figure out her life, Jake the fun loving wizard is in the picture now and gets a blow ...more

So we get to start where the last book left off. Sarita is about to be inside Cassidy's castle. She doesn't want to run into him and yet she ends up having to deal with him. I love how she is struggling with her feelings while still trying to complete the quest she is on. She knows that she has feelings for him but she has a plan, like Calista.

We get to see into the characters more in this book. We have the emotional struggles that Gabby and Oliver are going through. We have Asher and Emery's fu

The enchanting adventure continues! The story picks up right where the first book ended and wastes no time getting back to all the adventure! The romances continue to bloom as the characters find new emotions coming to the surface for each other. There's a few new characters and creatures introduced that immensely enhance the story and captivate me even more. The quest continues as Sarita continues to search for the magical stones and I was left racing through the pages just to find out what wo ...more

Book two begins immediately where book one leaves off. King Cassidy has decided to give Princess Sarita some space, hoping she will miss him and change her mind about their future.
Secondary characters from the previous book take the spotlight this time.
Themes are more mature and intimate, many centered on female topics.
Everyone is experiencing doubt and changes, both emotional and physical. None more so than the demure, reserved Calista
