Most people fear the dark. Some embrace it.

Blackened windows, a 400-square foot self-made prison, and a loyal Welsh corgi—that’s the extent of former soldier Matthew Ash’s world. Matt’s tasted hell’s battlefield. He wears the scars on his skin and soul to prove it. Matt’s agoraphobia keeps his demons out and that’s all that matters.

Burnt-out MMA fighter Will Grove is having the worst year of his life. His boyfriend broke up with him and he just lost the fight of the decade. He moves to a new town, seeking a fresh start. Everyone tells him to watch for the crazy recluse, but Will makes his own rules. One glimpse of Matt is all Will needs to recognize a man whose mind is fucked-up as his own.

Matt’s certain Will’s going to run. Will’s out to prove this is one fight he’s not going to lose.

Oh, no. This one did NOT work for me.

Matt is an ex-military man who suffered trauma so severe he is now agoraphobic.

Agoraphobia: Fear of places and situations that might cause panic, helplessness, or embarrassment.

He suffers panic attacks and has not left his home in 6 months. So, he's hurt but we don't know how he was hurt. He has scars, but we don't hear how he got them. We see Matt is all kinds of dysfunctional, but why? *shrugs* We're never told.

Along comes ex-MMA fighter Will and he sets his sights on Matt and decides right then-and-there that Matt is his. "Mine" without a paranormal mates story-line makes he a little crazy, especially when it is after a first meeting. Will literally barges into Matt's apartment, thinking he is going to "fix" Matt by his presence alone. And, of course, he succeeds. Not at all realistic, but it's fiction, so whatever.

But, gah, the pet peeves in this one! Here is a sample:

1. Calling a penis "member" i.e., "I pulled his member from his jeans."
2. No condoms, no safe-sex discussion.
3. Using the endearment "baby" at the beginning of the relationship.
4. Insta-love.
5. Alpha-male possessiveness that was too brutal.
6. A magic dick that cures all that ails.

Just how much of a dick is Will? See for yourself, when he and Matt indulge in public sex right after Matt escapes a fire that burns his apartment down. RIGHT after.

I blink, realizing what Matt's really asking. Matt's hunger, his need for physical contact, is a heady feeling. He's using sex to distract his mind from his phobia, but I'm bastard enough to take advantage of that.

The only thing this book has going for it, as far as I am concerned, is Homer, Matt's Welsh Corgi. I'm crazy in love with the breed and have 3 myself. And extra star for Homer.

This book was a hot mess and I cannot recommend it.

The ARe Fearless series includes 3 M/M romances and 1 M/M/F romance.

I'm kind of on the fence about how I feel on this one. There were certain elements that worked for me and others not so much. Here's my pros and cons...

Pros:
-I liked the characters, both as individuals and together. I do like that once Will makes up his mind, he is all in with Matt...and I admire his persistence. With Matt, I felt so badly for him, especially when Will was pushing as hard as he was so quickly.
-Once things progress physically between Will and Matt, there's chemistry and plenty of heat
-I don't think any reader can not like Homer. That dog is awesome ;-)
-This is a quick read, and I finished in less than a couple of hours.
-I liked getting the story from both Matt and Will's points of view, I always enjoy stories more when seeing it from both main characters' eyes.

Cons:
-It felt like Will fell for Matt too quickly while he didn't really know too much about him.
-We don't get a lot of backstory about Matt. I would have liked to know more to get a better idea of what he went through before we meet him.
-The story felt like it went a bit too fast, but for me I can attribute this to the short length. I think if it had been longer, I would have been more comfortable since we could get more depth in both the characters and the story.

Overall this made for an interesting, fast read and for me came out to be a 3-star book. Recommended for M/M readers 18+ due to adult language and M/M sexual content.

Personally I am a huge Angelique Voisen fangirl so when I saw Conquer up for review I just had to have it. This is the second book in the Fearless series for All Romance Ebooks. They do not have to be read in order. This story has Will and Matt.
Will is very lonely. He is huge muscular, tats and scars. He used to be a popular fighter that is till the day he lost. When he lost he lost not only his career but his boyfriend too. And part of his confidence in himself. So when we meet him he is really lost.
Matt is a recluse. Just getting the paper is hard for him. He is a ex soldier with a sweet welsh corgi. The last six month he has not left his apartment. He likes order. When he meets Will he wants to be a better person but doesn't know how.
I liked how Will never gives up on Matt. And how Matt never uses his disabilities as a crutch. I liked the strength of both men. There is such a wounded soul strength to both of them. I also liked the slow build to love in this book, the connection to the characters and the whole storyline kept me reading and wanting more. Over all I felt this was a very well rounded and thought out story.
When you want a story that makes you believe in true love moving mountains this is the one to pick up.

Ex-military, washed up/over MMA fighter, tiny space, new town, and a Welsh corgi, Homer. Gotta love the sweet dog and two damaged men with different reasons behind the damage. Matt and Will takes what life has dealt them and spin it in their own way. There was something about the other that drew them together. This read was told with dual POV. Allowing a closer look at what each one was going through.

Say you love scared, dark, damaged, men with hot public sex with each other then you have a read for an hour or two. This was a quickie MM Romance read in the FEARless series from All Romance and its contributing authors.

I was not impressed and felt a bit out of touch. I did not have answers to many question. I had enjoyment in Will and Matt but there were things missing to make it more.

Fear can take many different forms, and the two main characters in ‘Conquer’ each have to confront their own demons before they can be together and lead a halfway normal life. Matt faces agoraphobia of a crippling level after returning from Afghanistan, and Will needs to confront the fear of life in disgrace after losing a major fight. Both men tell the story in alternating segments, and it was fascinating to see what bothered each of them, how they tried to deal with their own situation, and how they were able to help each other. Their fears were shown in a very realistic fashion, and had me rooting for both of them to be successful – as painful as the road to get there turned out to be.

I must say everyone has fear in their life and this story explains a fear many will not understand. I enjoyed the tale of two people who was damaged and dealing with their demons to come together to make a normal life. Reader will comprehend their fears and difficulty life has thrown at them. I love a book with dual POV, which shows a deeper perceptive in their hearts.

This is a short read, which readers will be still discussing long after the book ends.
