Clare Martin has spent the last ten years in the spotlight, becoming Hollywood’s It Girl. On the surface her life looks perfect, but in reality she’s faltering. And the last person she expects to provide any relief is her best friend’s brother, the man who’s been tying her in knots for months.

Alexander Richards has paid the price for every single mistake he’s made. He make

Miss Hollywood by Marie Garner
2 Stars

I wish I had more good things to say about this book.
I didn't really get into at all. I had a hard time with the back and forth between the points of view. It's difficult to tell a story from multiple POV, and while I appreciate the effort, it wasn't very clean.

Alex was sweet but troubled. Clare was Naive and immature. Their back and forth really got on my nerves and the ending was so lack luster. I kept wanting and waiting for...more...I feel like even th

Miss Hollywood is the final book in The Misses Trilogy and it focuses on the characters Clare and Alex- who you’ve ‘met’ if you’ve read the first two books. While I recommend reading this trilogy in order, you could still read this as a standalone.

This one dragged a little bit for me and I found myself skimming through some of the pages. While the main characters were likable, I don’t think I really got to know them enough. This could be because to me there were too many other secondary characte

This review was posted on my blog As the Book Ends

I was given an Advanced Reading Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

My Rating: 3 Stars

When I received this book to review, I immediately read the first book in the series, to get a feel for the author’s writing style and to understand the trilogy a bit better. I honestly couldn’t finish it. The main characters seemed to be halfway in love by chapter two, and were sleeping together within the first 30% of the book. There was no build

Marie Garner's Miss Hollywood was such a quick, refreshing and fun read.

Fact:

I **love** reading novels about forbidden romances that occur between the hero or heroine and their best friend's brother. The quagmire is infinitely appealing, particularly because it is often considered taboo to encroach upon sacred ground, especially when a love interest has indirectly been declared "off limits."

Will they or won't they act on their desires?

That is the question that reels me in and fuels my interest

This is the 3rd book in Garner's The Misses Trilogy series however I went into it as a stand alone and not sure what to expect. The plot of the best friends siblings is definitely something that peaked my interest. I enjoy the alternating point of view which gives us a bit of insight into what both main characters are thinking. Clair is the popular Hollywood Starlet who seems to be spiraling into some troubling behavior which puts her dream job on the rock

Miss Hollywood by Marie Garner is the 3rd in the Misses Trilogy. Claire has spent the last 10 yrs being america's it girl and she is wanting more from her life. She is struggling and when she runs into her best friend's brother she doesn't know what to think and Alex is realizing that trying to deny the underlying current that happens when the two of them get together may not be worth ignoring. But when neither of them want to do the grown up thing (my opinion here) it causes more problems for t ...more

3/5 Stars!

Miss Hollywood is about two insecure people who find what they need in each other.

Clare is Hollywood’s It girl, but she is not as well put together as she appears. Alex has made mistakes and he owns them all. He is also Clare’s best friend’s brother. When they are thrown together, feelings arise and attraction burns.

Here’s the thing. While I liked the story itself, there were so many characters involved in this story of two people, it was hard to follow along. Don’t get me wrong. The w

I really liked that Miss Hollywood is about Brea’s brother Alex and Clare. In the previous two Misses books, we had some family drama going on but it is way more intense in Clare and Alex’s story, just like them. Their chemistry was the love/hate kind. I loved them together though as much as they tried to fight it, they were better together.

Marie Garner hails from North Carolina, and has had her nose in a book for as long as she can remember. Story ideas have been floating around in her head for as long as she can remember when she finally decided to write them down. She is an avid football fan, often found rooting on her Washington Redskins or her alma mater NC State. She has taught for the past 7 years, with a short break to earn h ...more
