Cute and kinda funny but not outstanding

Ernie starts teasing Bert with various things all day long. Bert keeps trying to do things he wants to do but gets interrupted with Ernie's teasing. But in the end when Ernie turns serious Bert doesn't take him serious.... So Ernie has to prove to Bert he's not teasing this time.

Great for starting a dialogue about honesty, but mostly it just teaches nice kids that you can play pranks. Bert falls for them every time.

My kid can't get enough of this book, we've read it at least 50 times. Not my favorite, but she's been coming back to it for years.

This sensitive portrait of a closeted homosexual couple is short on plot, but the underlying tenderness between the characters saves the story. The ending is a bit saccharine.
