As I explained in the comments to Dream Makers I was on the hunt for an article on a specific artist. In the process of which I stumbled across this book (although to be honest I could not remember if the article was in this book or the other).
I have commented on many of the Papertiger books and how they influenced my love of science fiction and fuelled my imagination even to this day. And I have to say that the appreciation for these books is just as strong today as it was when I first cast my eyes over them.
I think for me its the fact that so much time and energy has been put in them where skill and imagination bring to life such amazing and incredible images - I think which is all the more amazing when you look at when these books were published. After all in many of them the most advanced piece of technology was the compressor used on the airbrush. Do not get me wrong there are some incredible pieces being created today but you have to admit that a lot of the randomness and repetitive activities can now be controlled by a computer.
I guess what I am saying is that in a world where more and more things are becoming so realistic you never know where or how they came about there are still some pieces of work where you can still see the artists "fingerprints" on each image.
