Great follow-up to Hard Act to Follow and it can not be read as a standalone...that being said, I didn't think it was possible, but I loved Kyrie here even more than in the previous book. His sense of humor, how fierce and vulnerable at the same time he was, how understanding of Greg's struggle and how much love he had for Greg...all of those things are some of the reasons why he is one my favorite characters ever (romance-wise).

And as for Greg...oh, boy, he really hurt Kyrie here. D
I feel bummed because I struggled with Greg in this instalment from part way through. It started out okay with him, with them. I still adore Kyrie, he is gorgeous, but Greg wasn't the guy I loved in Hard Act to Follow. I simply wanted Kyrie to up and leave Greg for quite a bit of this follow-up book. That really upsets me because I get emotionally involved with characters I love and I take it hard.

The chemistry between the two is still off the charts, maybe even more than Hard Act, but I'm very

I've enjoyed this series so far to date. I jumped on a chance to read Kyrie & Greg's second book. They are not living together after fighting their feelings to one another. Up in New York Kyrie is still Kyrie. He's working on his acting, but gets the chance to model with a well known fashion model. I loved Andy and can't wait for his book. Greg is being supportive as best as he knows how to. I wanted to smack Greg a billion of times in this book. His jealously, the disrespect to Kyrie, and his o ...more

Greg and Kyrie are living in New York, out to Kyrie’s family but that’s it. Out and proud Kyrie is forced to be the “roommate” or the “friend” in any social situation and it’s rough. When he’s super excited to get a real modeling job, Greg is very lukewarm and that could be due to the beautiful, androgynous Anders, the model Kyrie will be working with.
I think I am in the minority regarding Greg. While it is known that Greg is in the closet, I didn’t realize how firmly he’s in there and how sham

I love these 2 characters, they got to be one of my favourite book couples. This book carries on from the last book in the series and is the continuing story of Greg and kyrie. Last book kyrie and Greg were moving in together and though in love Greg was still not comfortable showing that he was in a relationship with kyrie except for kyrie family and friends. This puts strain on there relationship especially when Greg's mum turns up. I loved this story and hope there will be another with these t ...more

In which I give Kyrie and Greg a bit more story. If you enjoyed Hard Act to Follow, Balancing Act continues with the same main characters and introduces a few new faces. :-) Releases June 27, 2016.

Chapter 1

Greg’s mouth dropped open, eyes widening comically, but he spared a nervous glance for the empty hallway behind him before stepping swiftly over the thresh

It has been over a year since Kyrie and Greg finally sorted themselves out and got together. Sadly all that sorting never included coming out for Greg, and that secret they now both have to live with in day to day life is really starting to wear on Kyrie. He has never been in the closet, and not being able to be himself in public with the man he loves, for fear that Greg’s fears will eat him alive, is getting harder by the day. Slowly Kyrie is trying to show that Greg has nothing to fear, and th ...more

Greg and Kyrie have found their happily ever after. Living together in New York with the support of Kyrie's family, they are more in love than ever. Kyrie has landed a job in modeling and it is getting him the exposure he's always wanted. He's finally making a real name for himself even if it isn't on the stage. Greg is happy at his job at his new firm and things are going great.

Balancing Act is the fourth book in the Shooting Star series, and should be read following Hard Act to Follow, where the MCs from this story fall in love. To sum up: Greg Dwyer was married to Jasmine Li, sister of out gay actor/model Kyrie Li. They divorced years ago, but Kyrie harbored a serious crush on his brother-in-law, and Greg’s continued contact with Jas’ family allowed a fr

I love this series! Sweet, fun, easily read and thoroughly enjoyable. All of the first three books works as stand alones, all though the couple 'visit' in other books, so we get to see snippets of their HEA, which is lovely for those of us that have read them all, but not confusing for those who haven't. That being said I will not recommend anyone read this one as a stand alone. This is the

This was a fabulous sequel to Hard Act to Follow. It brought everything together and showed how these two worked hard to be exactly what the other needed. Greg and Kyrie are so in love but they also still have things to overcome and I loved getting to see them worked out in this book.
Kyrie continues to be a character I enjoy. He isn’t afraid to be himself and he works hard to be someone Greg can respect and love. Kyrie doesn’t want to be a kept man and hi

First I must admit that while I've read Double Takes (Shooting Stars #2) & Hard Act to Follow (Shooting Stars #3) I do not remember them.

Even though in my review of book #3 I wrote "I love Kyrie, absolutely adore his flamboyant little spastic heart! That young man is just the sweetest, funniest guy." I still have no memory of him. That is not a re

Balancing Act will work best for you if you have already read Hard Act to Follow as it is a continuation of Kyrie and Greg’s story.

Eighteen months after meeting and Greg is still uncomfortable when it comes to his sexuality and still very much in the closet when it comes to most people in his life. When the door is closed and it’s just him and Kyrie he is a man passionately in love but is almost constantly worried that he isn’t enough and that Kyrie will find bett

To be honest, I’ve only read 1 other book in this series — Hard Act to Follow — which is the start of Greg and Kyrie’s story. When I realized that this book was a continuation of them, I couldn’t grab it quick enough.

I do love that we get to follow along and catch up with the duo, because I was completely wrapped up in them before. I really enjoyed how each of the characters didn’t change drastically in between the books. Usually with a second book, something changes in the characters. Not the c

It was sooooo nice to revisit with Kyrie and Greg. I loved their last book when Greg mostly got his head out of his hiney and reached for his happiness, but there were still road blocks for them. Greg still struggled with being publically acknowledged as gay, and Kyrie struggled with Greg remaining mostly in the closet a year and a half later. When his mother comes to stay with them unexpectedly, and Greg reverts to pretending he and

Awww !! Greg and Kyrie's (Kyrie pronounced dearie) story is absolutely amazing !!
We already knew form book 3 that they had something going on, but in this, Greg's insecurities about admitting that he's gay come to the forefront. There's a few things that cause him to be jealous but also to try and tamp down showing his true rainbow colours.
I've loved every single book in this series and, just like the others this hit all my emotions; Happy, laughing out loud, angry, worried and crying !!

Loved it

I just love these characters, kyrie and Greg and that it followed on from the previous book. These characters are some of my favourite couple's and I would love another book with these two, maybe the wedding? I would also love anders or as kyrie calls him Andy to find his ever after. Brilliant writing as always

I LOVE the Shooting Stars series and I really, really liked this book BUT Kyrie let Greg off the hook waaaay too easily IMO. And I LOATHED Barbara the bitch.

Bottom line: I can't wait for more from K. Vale!
I received Balancing Act through the Don’t Buy My Love group in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. This is the fourth book in the ‘Shooting Stars’ series, but the second book dealing with the relationship between Greg Dwyer, a lawyer, and Kyrie Li, an aspiring actor. It’s told in third person from both Greg’s and Kyrie’s povs.

I really enjoyed this story! I have not yet read the other stories in this series, and after reading this one, I cannot wait to read the other books! While I haven’t read the other books in the series (specifically Book #3, Hard Act to Follow, where Kyrie & Greg’s story begins), I didn’t feel lost, so I don’t think it is necessary to read the others first (although it is likely a good idea to

The first thing i have to say, is that my rating is heavily influenced by the fact that this book is a part of a series of which I've only read one other book previously, and that was not this couple. I didnät realize it when requesting for the book.

However, I was very pleasantly surprised and I believe that if I'll buy Hard Act to Follow and sread this one again after that, my rating will go up.

Okay, so I kinda wanted to knock Greg in the teeth. He was a colossal jackass, in his treatment of Kyrie before his mother came to town, but especially afterward. Egads, man! Grow a pair! I wanted to say, but he’s just a non-confrontational guy in this book. Which was out of character from his previously more assertive incarnation in Hard Act to Follow. The hard part of writing those middle years books is that the bright spark of initial attraction often settles int

The follow up to Hard Act to Follow, Kyrie and Greg's story. Everything seems to be going well for the couple. The two are still going hot and heavy. Career wise Kyrie is becoming more well known, walking the runway and doing promotional work. He's gotten close to very popular model, Anders Berglund and have become great friends. The media sure loves them anyway. Greg is a bit jealous but he trusts Kyrie. The only real hiccup is tha

I liked seeing into the relationship of Kyrie and Greg, that like some romance do, the author didn't hide the rocky parts of the relationship. It took a (view spoiler) to bring them both to their senses before then they focused mostly on their view and forgot what view the other had and why

This is book four in this series and it is a run on from book three. Or maybe I should say continuous of book three.

Kyrie and Greg are back together again but only a year and a half after they got together. You would think they had surpassed all of the rough areas in their relationship when they finally admitted their feelings and came out and told Kyrie's family and ex wife but that is not the case.

Greg cannot get over his fear of coming out to others so he hides his relationship with Kyrie beh
