I bought this book because I am part Welsh and was so curious about their quilting history. I find I have done many things that are part of their tradition!

This is a very informative book as well as a practical book in that it provides a history of quilting in Wales, from the earliest examples to modern day versions, as well as describing the different styles, techniques and patterns and the meanings behind them (seriously I did not realise that so much went into these things!). The isntructions on how to make your own quilts are fairly easy to follow although some of the instructions do need to be read a couple of times before they become clear (although I admit I haven't had time to make anything yet so it might all be really obvious when you're actually doing it). The book also has a number of templates and pattern ideas at the back so you can design your own blankets as well as following the ones in the book which is a particularly nice touch.
