Sometimes two souls connect on a level where words go unspoken and they just know.

Their hearts align and right or wrong—they just know.

When Moby and Piper collide—they just know. He didn’t have to shout his love from the mountaintops. The only heart that needed to hear his words listened silently to his soul’s communication. A bond that would transcend time and unexpected heartache.

The moment Piper laid eyes on Moby—she just knew. She didn’t have to await results. All the evidence she needed was there…taunting her, challenging her, testing their resolve. Daring her to persevere.

Parents, siblings, and countless friends—none of them knew. Oblivious to their turmoil, blind to their pain. Had they opened their eyes, it was there in front of them, for everyone to see…if only they looked.

A broken man.
A shattered woman.
A crumbling marriage.
No one knew.

an emotionally charged read that left me rooting for Moby and Piper.
There is definitely something about a story based on true events. In this case, I could feel every emotion Stephie Walls undoubtedly felt as her real life Moby endured life altering events. Every tear Piper shed, every bit of anger, defeat, happiness, sadness, indifference, guilt felt in the story was as if I was sitting across from author Stephie Walls as she recounted those difficult years of the unknown with her then husband.
While the characters were those from her previous book Metamorphosis, the words in Compass were so incredibly heartfelt and sincere. Throughout the entire book from cover to cover, I tried to keep my heart from breaking into a million pieces.
I loved taking this journey with Moby and Piper as their love for each other was tested beyond measure. And sometimes you need more than love to overcome adversity. I enjoyed how Walls created such a solid foundation in Moby and Piper's close friends-- Piper's 'fish', Moby's brothers and the Wrights.
Every turn of the page was worthwhile and Compass was unputdownable-- yep it's a word lol. I love reading real life angst and love. it makes it that much more viable and I can invest in the words. This is definitely a story to put on your TBR. Better yet, one click and read a true love love story with all the feels and sincerity.

I don't know that I have ever read a book where I was able to connect to the characters completely like I did with Compass. "Life has stopped being about living and morphed into surviving", if you have ever dealt with a serious health crisis no truer words have ever been written. Moby and Piper's story isn't easy to read, but it is so worth the journey Stephie Walls takes you on. I laughed and cried alot, as I completely related to these characters and the journey they were on. While this book is very emotional, it's so beautifully written with wonderful characters that it is very much worth the roller coaster ride you are in for. I would HIGHLY recommend this book

Where do I even begin? WOW! We start off with the sweet story of Piper and Moby and how they met and things just clicked and where they are right now. We're taking on one hell of an emotional roller coaster ride shortly after and I swear I had tears in my eyes from that point forward. The battles that Moby was facing are gut wrenching and then when we head over to Pipers views your heart breaks all over again. This story shows us that when someone truly loves you nothing and I mean NOTHING will get in their way. Family and friends are there for you even when you feel they're not. I must say though that Patty, Moby's mother irritated me from the start and I just want to scream at her "what is wrong with you?!" This is a beautifully written soul touching story that you will need tissues near by at all times but an absolute must read. Yes I'm just left with WOW still. Just an amazing story. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Passion, love, drama, heartbreak , redemptions this book held so much and it was so well put together .This story took me totally by surprise because I did not expect to love it as much as I did. There were so many different elements to this story that just captivated me right from the beginning .This isn’t your everyday love story no this is a story of perseverance, and of finding yourself after the storm .Don’t get me wrong there was a part the book I could have thrown my kindle because the hero was a tool but once I continued I got drowned in more .Moby and Pipers love was supposed to last forever in sickness and in health but what happens when one of them breaks that vow and leave the other one slowly sinking.
Promises are never made to be broken but when they are how far will you go to heal the heart that was broken. This book took my emotions on a rollercoaster ride and when it ended it left my heart pounding. This was actually my first book by Stephie and this was no disappointment at all. The writing was awesome, the characters were awesome, and the plot was very developed and interesting. Moby is a strong hero but even the strong have weakness and does not make the best decisions even if they think it’s the right one. Piper was soft yet strong and that made her great. Piper did not let her heartaches break her even when she thought she couldn’t go on.
This was definitely a great read that I would recommend to someone looking for a new author and something different to read. I can say I would definitely read a book from Ms. Walls because she did an awesome job with this story.

I've been anxious to read this book from Ms. Walls. Because let's face it... I'm a stalker fan. That being said I actually feel this book is more of a 3 1/2. But I don't do halves so it's closer to a 4.

While the overall plot of this book is heartbreaking and very much personable... I had a hard time connecting to the characters. Moby and Piper had what I'd call a.... complicated relationship. And while I understood Pipers struggle and later Moby's. I keep going back to not being able to relate to the characters. However, the author did an excellent job in communicating the characters. By this I mean, you felt their emotions. And I know... Conundrum considering I said I couldn't relate. But that's just it. It's not my story, it's not a part of my story. I think had the author removed the preface of this in the book it would have worked better for me. However, id rather not let my review be one that dissuaded the reader. Because there's a love story here. A tragic and soul searing one, but there's a love story. There's also characters from Metamorphosis that I absolutely adored. I loved that the author was able to incorporate them into this book without making them "center stage" I do appreciate the personal struggle Moby and Piper had and their ability to work towards overcoming them.

3.5 Stars I was a Little Lost

On some descriptions of Compass, it's listed as Siren Songs Book 2 and for me, I needed to read book one to feel more comfortable with these characters. Stephie Walls chose a difficult topic to write about and did it well, however I was a little lost for at least the first half of the book. Knowing more about the supporting characters and "the attack" on one, would have helped me become vested in the continuing story.

We are first introduced to Moby and Piper. It seemed like they were friends before getting together and are now married. He sounded like he had quite the past going on, while she was more level headed. To say their friends were surprised by the marriage is an understatement.

As Moby and Piper are getting ready to start their new life together, the biggest wrench possible is thrown into this new marriage. It's time to test wills and see exactly what they are each made of and honestly, I found this the better part of the book. The struggle.

Stephie Walls gives her readers a big ol' dose of reality. How in a split second everything you know can change. The book is well written from dual points of view and cringe-worthy at times. I had a similar incident early in my relationship with my husband and could relate to some of the struggles Moby faced. However, his are far more serious.

COMPASS was my first read by Stephie Walls, and it will not be my last. While the Siren Song Series can be read as stand alone novels, I would highly suggest reading them in order. I was a bit lost when it came to a side character in the beginning that I feel would have added to the dynamics of COMPASS. I loved the writing, I loved the characters, I loved the emotions that were behind this novel...I basically loved everything about this book, and it has left me in such a book funk that I don't know where to go with my next read.

I really don't want to give any of the novel away. Moby and Piper go through a very real situation, and it will wreck you as the reader. The note from Stephie Walls at the beginning needs to be read - don't skip over it because it will touch your heart so much more than just reading the novel. Moby and Piper were very strong characters that have easily made their way into the top five of my book couples that I absolutely fell in love with. I'm excited to see what Stephie Walls brings out next in this series as the characters fleshed well with one another.

A wonderful five star read that I recommend 100 times over!

Where do I begin...this book was based on true story and broke my heart. It took me a while to get through this book because it was so raw. I had tears in my eyes pretty much throughout this read. Knowing the author lived this made it so much more important for me to take the time with this one. No rushing for me when I love a book and want the full experience, so I only read when I can truly sit down and invest the time without distraction.

The issues that Piper and Moby deal with are so hard to grasp, no one should have to overcome so much so young, thanks to Stephie's amazing writing I was able to live through this with them every step of the way. The story is breathtaking, emotional, sexy, funny, meaningful, just everything.

The ending was beautiful, not in the sense of the book world HEA, it was real, not perfect, which in my opinion is even better!

I'm writing this through streaming tears!!!! This book was so good. I'm going to start by saying that the author has a great talent. I've been through some of the things that happened in this book and I don't know if I could write my life experiences. Piper and Moby's story is one with a Happily Ever After. But the struggle is real. They are faced with hardships no one at that age should have to face. When things like this happens it calls for you to have a determined spirit. But in a relationship it has to come from both sides. If one side doesn't put in their efforts then the other feels left to do it all. This is what happens to Piper in this book. The love that woman has for her husband is so strong. I'm not saying Moby didn't love her, just that he was depressed and couldn't reach out of that. For someone that has been here, this book was amazing. To know the author wrote this from life experiences is truly admirable. Thank you Stephie for sharing your story with us.

Moby and Piper weren't strangers to each other and Moby's known for being a bit of a ladies man so I understand everyone's initial shock but each one of us deserves a HEA and Moby finally clicked Piper was his forever girl

As is life Moby and Piper have their trial and tribulations and when Moby has a life altering event in his life , Piper is there right beside him . Their journey is a tough one and at times you can't help but wonder if they'll come through unscathed ....

Never underestimate the power of love , be it romantic , parental or friendship , it has the power to overcome any hurdle

Compass is real , it's honest , it's sincere and you can relate to the characters and their lives .

Absolutely breath-taking!
This is book 2 of the Siren Songs series, it is a stand-alone, but I highly recommend reading Metamorphosis first. This series will hit you right in the heart, right in the soul! It will do just as stated above, take your breath away.. and just when you think that you won't feel anymore, Ms. Walls will make you feel even more intensely! Have a fresh box of tissues handy, your heart will break. There is an HEA at the end of the book, not how you think, but genuine. I loved this book, I love this series and will be watching for more from this Author.

I absolutely loved this read! Emotionally explosive, I was consumed by this story. The story of Moby and Piper begins like many of the romances novels we love reading. Instant connection, steamy, and romance off the charts.
What makes this story so unique and superb is the real life events that makes the reader feel the angst, passion and sincerity of Moby and Piper.
Love is not enough to get through difficult times.
What happens to them and how they deal with their struggle you need to read and find out❣
