I adore really good urban fantasy and this series is definitely one I’d recommend. Ivy has a voice that is believable and it’s very easy to get sucked into whatever trouble she finds herself in. In this book she’s struggling with zombie gerbils, vicious vampires, a dragon and a saucy succubus to name just a few. Add in creepy clowns, living breathing nightmares and you start to realise that the things that go bump in the night might be terrifying to you and me but to Ivy it’s just another case ! Yes she’s braver than you or I but trust me Ivy does know what it’s like to feel fear because she’s gathered around her a makeshift family that she will protect at all costs. Trouble is the cost isn’t one she would willingly choose or will she ? Don’t just trust my opinion though start reading the Ivy Granger series yourself because you too will start believing in Faeries !

I have never heard of Ivy Granger and her unique family of supernaturals before, but since I love Urban Fantasy, it's wonderful to have discovered this series!
Ivy reminds me of Cal Leandros with her snark and of Mattie Hathaway/Emma Rose Crane with her tragic and mysterious backstory.
I love all the characters in this series and E.J. Stevens' writing is fast paced and entertaining.

In Blood Rite, Ivy has two big problems. The first is a powerful necromancer, the second a double wedding, hers and her best friend's...
I love how the gang always comes up with various ways to escape danger and to still honor the many laws of the supernatural beings they are dealing with. Beloved side-characters are never just filler, everyone has an important role to play, no matter how small.
The action is fast paced, the kelpie king is still hot and Torn and Delilah are a great distraction. Gotta love those two!

Overall, Blood Rite is a wonderful addition to the Ivy Granger universe and I can't wait for the next book.
If you like Urban Fantasy, snarky characters, a wide range of supernatural beings - this is the series for you.

Blood Rite, by author E.J. Stevens, is the Sixth installment in the author's Ivy Granger series. The series is told in the first-person point-of-view of Ivy Granger. If you haven't started this series yet, let me summarize. Ivy is a psychic detective, fairy princess, and demon mother to Sparky. She's about to marry her boyfriend Ceffyl who just happens to be the Kelpie King. If that weren't enough, she also shares an apartment with her best friend & partner Jinx who is her human vassal as well as Jinx's fiance Forneus who just happens to be a demon lawyer. Oh, let's not forget that Ivy also has psychometry.

It's great to have a new book in this series. I read this book in one sitting. It's fast-paced and the action never stops, from cute zombie gerbils to zombie dragons to lich kings to queen. I can't wait to read the next book. #BloodRite #NetGalley

Ivy and co are back and what a wild ride this 6th book is!

If you haven't read the rest of the series, I strongly suggest you do as information and character building from previous books are woven throughout this story. Zombies, fae power, demons and more dance permeate this book and the story itself ends in such a way more could come in future books (oh, please!) but you are not left dangling on a cliff.

As always, Author Stevens does a great job showing the world through Ivy's eyes. The writing is strong, the characters believable, and the dialogue fun.

I don't believe I'd want to live in Harborsmouth; however, Author Stevens shares it in such a way that I fully expect to see it on a map, and if forced to visit, could probably navigate around a bit.

Highly recommended.

Wow, I am glad glad to see the return of Ivy Granger. Boy have I missed her. I am sorry to nearly gush but this is everything I like about urban fantasy and I am afraid that’s how it is! I loved the other books and this is no different. It’s as good if not better than the others. Roll on the next one. Highly recommended.

Once again Ivy's eagerness to protect those she cares about, lands her in trouble. She ends up promising a head vampire to solve a mystery as to who is stealing the dead and resurrecting them. Of course there is more to it than simple grave robbing and soon Ivy is once again facing a lot more than she bargained for.
This is yet another well developed story in the Granger series. Relationships continue to grow as we learn more about our main characters as well as the supporting characters. We continue to learn why Mab will never be mother of the year. I love how Ivy's devotion to her home and friends and their devotion to her grows with every book continually proving that no one is an island and it really does take a village. Love this series.

Ivy granger is a psychic detective, fairy princess, demon mother, and a shining, glowing wisp in this latest case. What appears as a simple grave robbing leads to a battle with zombie gerbils, a zombie army, a zombie dragon and even ice and shadows. Can she save Harborsmouth from the latest death and destruction coming her way? Ivy is coming into more magical power, and she needs to learn how to use it fast! She has weddings to plan!
I love this series. It is clever, original, with unexpected twists and an unbelievably magical story. Only Ivy could adopt a demon child with puppy dog ears, get him to sleep soundly in a dog bed and teach him to love. Only Ivy would rather face zombies and demons than circus clowns and spiders

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I'm completely blown away by this book.
This book is really well written and the characters are well written and you are definitely invested in what happens to them.
This book is dark with grave robbing, zombies and flesh eating marsh monsters 😱😱
I'd definitely recommend this book as it has a bit of everything, romance, fighting, gore and more.
You won't be disappointed if you enjoy reading PNR book's 💓💓

A brand new adventure for Ivy and co.
Gaius is the one asking for help from Private Eye this time and he’s in a real tizzy.
Someone is poaching what is his.
I really enjoyed this story, but then I’ve loved all of the Harboursmouth stories.
It’s fun to see how all the relationships change over time, my favourite characters are Sparky and Torn.
This story also shows how Ivy’s powers are still changing and I can’t wait for the next story to see how this arc develops.

This book is not as good as the rest of the series. There isn't as much depth to the action in this book so it falls flat. The outcome is never in doubt. Parts of the action were left out, as in the escape from the asylum.

Ivy continues to be whiney. I got really tired of the dramatic announcements of impending death. On the flip side, I got tired hearing about how she loves everyone. I got it after the first few repetitions. I was really disappointed that Ivy is such a special snowflake. Her stories were much more exciting when there were limits to her power.

Get ready for exciting storytelling! All kinds of paranormal for your pleasure. Lots of monsters run the streets that people are unaware of but Ivy Grange, the Psychic detective hopes to keep it that way. She investigates paranormal activity no one else will and fixes the problem, most of the time. Very good writing! Good book. Loved the characters.

Fabulous addition to the series! Wow, lots of twists and turns for Ivy's crew. And then the surprise of who she becomes, even better. (I won't spoil it for you) I am anxiously awaiting the double wedding. I can't wait to see where they have it and who shows up. Will there be any surprises? The suspense is killing me! This book is full of action and drama, the characters are so wonderful together. They make up a wonderful group of "family". They love and test each other just enough to make everything very interesting.
I received a free copy of the book and I loved it so much I had to leave a review so everyone would know to READ THIS BOOK!! It will not disappoint.

I read the other novels in this series and was more than happy to request this ARC.
This is an excellent urban fantasy series, full of actions and humour, and I like Ivy and the cast of characters.
It was great to meet them again and read about their new adventures.
The plot is fast pace, full of twists and turns, and I read it as fast as I could.
I like the humour and the style of writing, the characters are fleshed out and the world building is well developed and interesting.
I look forward to reading the next instalment in this series.

4.25 stars! I am so continuing to love Ivy Granger and all her many supernatural friends. The town of Harborsmouth is the perfect setting for this urban fantasy about a private eye for the paranormal sort. She's come a long way from how she started and by that I mean back when she could touch an object and see its history as her only real power. That meant she always had to wear special gloves. Now, she has transformed a few times and we keep meeting an Ivy with even more powers. Each book brings with it a whole new set of problems for Ivy and the gang and this book was no different. It seems that Ivy brings out more and more supernatural beings as her powers grow. She's in the midst of wedding plans for her double wedding that she and Jinx(her best friend)are having with their fiancee's. When the head of the vampires shows up with a problem he thinks only Ivy can fix, the story ramps up and becomes good urban fantasy of the save the world type. Ivy is as always the hero that saves the day-not a spoiler really as that's just Ivy. It's how she goes about saving the day that keeps this series fresh and engaging with every outing. Highly recommended to ages 15+. FYI-there is quite a bit of violence, but always justified.

Zombie gerbils…

How do you not become utterly intrigued with a story that starts off with the main character being tasked with tracking the graverobber responsible for zombie gerbils running loose? This whacky and wonderful series incorporates supernatural folklore with a myriad of various mythologies and never fails to offer the reader a fun and fantastic adventure with not a single dull moment. I have thoroughly enjoyed all the whimsical fantasy and have become very attached to the characters in these books. They have all grown and evolved, their relationships have changed, bonds have been forged, love and loss have been experienced. Throughout the series, to the delight of her readers, Ms. Stevens continues to challenge these tireless crusaders with highly imaginative, sometimes hilarious, and always compelling escapades. Ivy, now a much more prominent and, I would assume, influential figure in the fae hierarchy, is still completely committed to protecting Harborsmouth and its inhabitants from all supernatural threats so the stage is set, and I shall eagerly await the next adventure for her and her friends.

While I did receive a free advance copy of this book, I chose to purchase a copy as well and I am voluntarily offering this honest and unbiased review.

My opinion:

Really good but very dark. This series is becoming darker and darker without loosing its little touches of humour or romance which is a very good point. That being said i sure didn't expect it to be so dark either yes it include grave robbing and zombies but it's deeper than that. The ambiance , what we fear to expect it's really creepy.



As always Ivy does lead the investigation but even herself feels that there is a lot more to this case , she can pinpoint it but she knows and it leave us with an feeling of business unfinished and worse to come. Villain is taken care of but is it the real bad one?



It's hard to explain i really liked this story as we get to see how each character improves (for example Forneus and Ivy) the rhythm is fast but not too fast so we are not lost, even if i missed book 5 i had enough info to understand what was happening but while it's not really a cliffhanger i didn't get a feeling of closure at the last page more a foreboding one which kind of frustrated me. I do want the next book soon!!



I do recommend this book if you love zombies and dark ambience but i can't recommend you enough to read this book in the series order to get a better understanding and it's so worth it too.

I received a free copy of BLOOD RITE (Ivy Granger, Book 6) by E.J. Stevens in exchange for an honest review. Ivy Granger has been through a lot. When she opened her detective agency, she thought she was a psychic human. Later on, she found out she was a ‘Wisp royal. Then, she met her mother. Now, things have settled down, and Ivy’s benefitting from a well-deserved break. Ivy and her roommate are currently busy planning their double wedding to their devoted beaus. Most of all, Ivy’s looking forward to married life, to raising her adopted son, and to sharing her life the family she’s collected. When an irate vampire arrives at her office and engages Ivy’s services to solve a grave robbing case, things seem to be continuing in their low-key manner. That is, until Ivy actually starts working the case. Break’s over! It’s time for Ivy to get back to the hack, to the slash, and to the run-for-her life business as usual.

It’s been a few years since the last book in the series, so I was starting to worry there would be no more in the series. I’m glad Ivy’s back, and she’s back in a big way! I’m enjoyed this story, and I look forward to the next tale. I recommend this series and this book to fans of urban fantasy heavy on the faery characters but containing other types of supernaturals.

Blood Rite is another action-packed installment of the Ivy Granger series. Again, E.J. weaves her literary magic and creates an amazing addition to Ivy Granger's world. Each story in the series is well developed and pulls the reader in from the very beginning. Blood Rite is very suspenseful and rich in emotion and visual creativity. I truly feel the emotions that swirl within each character in the book.

The author continues to write Ivy in such a way that she is still brand new; never becoming stagnant, dull, or predictable. She continues to kick butt in the name of protecting her family, friends, and townsfolk. Ivy does all of this while maintaining safe distances since she has the ability of touching objects or people and being able to discern history of said objects/people. Her relationship with Ceff is very strong and continues to build.

I have enjoyed the world of Ivy Granger since Book 1. The series is easy to read, understand, and follow. The good guys and gals are likable and you definitely find yourself rooting for them. The baddies are also well written and sometimes give the reader the shivers ~ which means the author did her job! :)

Please make sure to read the books in order since the world and character building, plotlines, subjects, and themes build off of the previous books.

Interesting that Ivy Granger seems so unsure of herself in this story. She didn't have her kick butt. we can do anything attitude. In this story, she seem to second guess herself with every move. A pocket realm, with a king necromancer is affecting the town. Zombies moving through the streets, all going to the same location. Its up to Ivy and her team to find a way to close the realm and stop the necromancer before there's nothing left. There are a few surprises along the way and them meaning of family has a new perspective.

Ivy is hired by a powerful vampire to stop whatever creature is stealing his corpses. But as Ivy and her friend investigate, they are drawn into more and more danger. The necromancer turning corpses into zombies has targeted only faerie corpses. Why? And he is very powerful. Can they take him down before humans are hurt? And what of Ivy’s powers? She seems to be getting more powerful. Will her powers help the humans, the faerie, or both? Only time will tell.

3.5*. This was a curious mix of relationships, new pathways and the world going downhill in a way that may never be resolved. I enjoyed the difference of thought processes, alternate look into magic and ley lines but found the story a little difficult to get into. Ivy has changed a lot and it was nice to see the growth and the acceptance that comes with it. Yet I feel as if there has been a lot of build up in a series that still has questions to answer with no sign of any new books or these spin off series. It makes the end rather disappointing.

A first for me by this author, this is book 6 in a series and even though I haven’t been reading this series, it was easy to pick up the spirit of these characters. Love the mix of paranormal and humor. The gerbils had me mentally trying to picture them. Brought back flashbacks of the movie “Ben”. Sort of anyways l I found this authors prose easy to read which made the pages fly by quickly. The storyline truly did keep me immersed. Will need to read more books about this quirky detective. All my reviews are always voluntarily written
