LOVED this book, definitely in the top 5 of the books I've read this year!
Fascinating case studies of the companies AND very enjoyable! Key takeaways can sometimes be like a bit glib, like a company valuing "integrity." What company doesn't, right?! But at the risk of sounding glib, here are the key takeaways:
1. Ignite or unleash a team obsession
2. Hire based on character attributes, versus the lazy way of putting a round peg in a round hole
3. FOCUS, yet don't become myopic or lose agility or ...more

Overall, fantastic and clearly-written. My career has not been long yet - however, most of my time has been spent in scrappy intern positions, and then in stark contrast, monolithic, aging, established companies that embody the absolute worst bureaucracies, hands down. This book was refreshing and I gleaned plenty of knowledge about well-known companies that weren't part of FAANG (excluding Netflix). Notably, the stories of how Whole Foods and Air Bnb were run along with testimonies to the cultu

Book describes different culture in couple companies. It shows that different approach to lead company could result in similar success. Reading it forces to think about current approach to leading people. Also it invokes thoughts about personal alignment with other companies, and helps to decide that what could look good from outside maybe is not so good for you inside.

Fairly regular management book. Was looking for more of a biographical book about these companies. Some good stories but not exactly what I was looking for. I will say, if you are looking for a book about forming a team or fixing a problem with your company, this is a solid book with good tips and examples.

I'm very impressed with all the examples from this book. If these companies are looking for candidates to work in this way, I'm definitely out of the market. It helped me to see that 99% of the company is so lazing and what they are doing in the wrong way (in theory)
