Undisputed Backtalk Champion is the first collection of poetry from 2006 Youth Speaks Grand Slam Poetry Champion George Watsky. He comes out swinging bare-knuckled on issues of politics, class hierarchies, and schoolyard etiquette. Undisputed Backtalk Champion is his bold step into unspoken word—a seventy-page sass talk note passed straight to the teacher’s desk.
Uhm wow I thought his how to ruin everything book was great but I’m not sure if it’s because it was more raw and didn’t feel like it held back any punches, with the way it literally jumped poem to poem covering huge expanses of topics in his coverage and the way he does it just left me speechless. It took a long time to find a copy of this which is honestly quite sad but it was beyond worth it as a fan of his, it just feels so true to both himself and honestly most of the time the world at large and even connects in a lot of ways to todays climate too. I mean this was just a great read and I went back through a few of his works more than once and I highly recommend finding the audio companion as well (I found one remotely on YouTube) it just makes it that much better having him speaking through some of his works as well!
