5 loving Chase in red stars!

This book is hard to review without spilling spoilers all over the place. Will try my best, though.

I really really really love the title. 'She loves in pink' is what brought me here and I regret nothing ;) At first it sounds strange, but after reading you will know what this kind of weird title is about.

The blurb tells us that Juliet is in love with Ben and she follows him to college to win his heart. Chase, Ben's roommate, completes the love tri

This story was really hard to review for me and that’s why I mentally split it in three parts. The book started a bit light and I had constantly a smile on my face. Somewhere in the half way, I start getting stressed, afraid that something bad will happen. And close to the end everything balanced out. The first part was fantastic and funny and flirty. The second part was a bit confusing and heavy

Wow, what a sensational read! I am still reeling from my sojourn in Sheridan Hall!

Jessica Calla has expertly crafted a heart-wrenching angst-filled love story that will rip you apart and then piece you back together again! I had all the feels reading this one. I love when an author delves deep into the emotional psyche of her characters and strips them raw, so we see them bare, with all their strengths and weaknesses on show (that sounds unintentionally naughty. Lol.) Jessica does this effortles

I shake my head when a swirl of pink surrounds her like a mist, like she's embedded in cloud. As quick as it appears, it fades. I've never seen flashes of color like that. Maybe I am having a sensory overload.

This is a college centric contemporary novel, I can't really seem to find any novel that may have the same amount of a lame love triangle in it but it was just there in my face from the beginning, it just dragged along those lines for so long it mad

This book.

This book is everything I think the New Adult genre should be. Jessica Calla’s She Laughs in Pink is a perfect snapshot into the lives of 18- and 19-year olds and everything that a person is thinking and feeling at that point in their lives. It has it all: friendship, love, family-and because it’s fiction-suspense and drama. I loved it. I wish I’d had it to read when I was 18 years old because I’m betting I would have read it and re-read it until the pages literally fell apart.

The first time I stumbled upon this book was when I hosted the cover reveal for She Laughs in Pink (SLIP), my first reaction was, "I FREAKING NEED THIS BOOK NOW."

Soon enough, it was as if my reader's prayers were heard and my wish was granted, a reviewing opportunity arose and you don't even have to ask me twice. So, thank you BookFish Books for the opportunity, it still amazed me how a book can leave such significant impact on one's life!

On to the review.

When Juliet Anderson starts NJU after she decides to follow her best friend Ben when he starts a football scholarship there. Juliet wants more with Ben or so she thinks that's until Ben's roommate Chase makes steps forward and he so happens to be the cute guy she saw at the train station earlier on her way to start her new adventure. Juliet is blaming herself for the murder of her twin sister Justine and her parents haven't shown her any support or love since it happened 4 years ago. B

With a title like She Laughs in Pink, I was too intrigued to pass this one up. And I’m so glad I didn’t! I fell in love with Chase and his bad boy past as he struggled to stay on the straight and narrow. I wanted to live in Sheridan Hall! I love the idea of this group of college kids forming a family of sorts with their intertwining lives, each of them so different in their own special way. Between the dancing, the painting, and the vivid personalities, the book is full of color, leaving you itc ...more

True story: I downloaded this book and got on my treadmill to read while walking. I not only got sucked into the story, I walked an extra was my motivation to get back on the treadmill each morning!

A great story about breaking the stereotype about first loves--and how they just night not be all they're cracked up to be--and how those who we would never expect have our hearts for real.

Worth the purchase--a great summer read!

Wonderful college romance!

She Laughs in Pink is a wonderful romance, filled with vibrant, colorful characters that feel real and seemingly jump off the page. I loved getting to know Juliet, a ballet dancer who follows her high school crush to college and along the way running into Chase, our rugged and troubled hero. Sparks fly between them, and the chemistry is off the charts!

The novel is full of excellent details and prose that really made the story come to life - I couldn't get enough of thi

Prepare yourself, this might get ugly.

Every once in a while, you read a book that has so many things wrong with it that you don't know how to fit them all into a normal sized review and, in my case (since I don't take notes while reading), how to remember them all. This is one of those books.

This book is about a girl named Juliet who is in love with her best friend Ben. She has leaned on him ever since she lost her twin sister and when he decides to go awa

*My thanks to the BookFish Books crew for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions in this review are my own.*

I have never seen a big drama, not like the usual drama on NCIS or Switched at Birth. I'm talking about soap operas (that's what I call them). The big series about the really unbelievable drama that takes place in a family, or something like that. Well, that was this book, except the drama was mostly about things that take place in real life.

We first meet Chase as he's on the train headed to move into his new dorm at New Jersey University... this, oddly enough, is also where we meet Juliet. He sees her, realizes she's some sort of dancer and doesn't even consider that she might be headed to the same place as him as he approaches and fails miserably to flirt with her. The connection and attraction are almost immediate on both sides - this story is told in duel voices. I think that was a great choice on Calla's part - s

She Laughs In Pink is a story of a girl haunted by her sisters murder and a boy dealing with addiction. Juliette Anderson is in love with her best friend Ben, so when he moves away to college she doesn't hesitate to join him. Its only when she is with him thaybshe feels she can breathe. When she meets his roommate though, there are some sparks there.
I love Juliette's spirit. She's hurt inside but she's spunky and fierce. She dances her heart out and makes friends with everyone. She doesn't let

*****Five Sexy Train Man Stars for She Laughs In Pink ***** Jessica has once again delivered one of my FAVORITE opening scenes ever and I could not stop reading from that moment on! I immediately fell in love with these characters and their story, although sometimes painful and tragic, it was beautiful and had all the feels. This is the first novel I’ve read by Calla, and I must admit, I’m impressed. I was a little worried at first as I’m more partial to an somewhat older crowd, but I’m so glad I got to meet the Sheridan Hall gang. The characters are well-developed, and their behavior is understandable and real. I was surprised by the whole “color” thing – happily surprised. I didn’t expect it. I won’t elaborate because I want you all to be happily surprised, as well.

Chase has his flaws, and I couldn’t help but to l

This book nails college life, in all its spontaneous, zany glory. I had so much fun reading about dorm life with this group of super quirky and lovable supporting characters. I'd read a whole book just about them, even if I didn't adore the main couple. Which I DID.

I had a crush on Juliet almost faster than the hero did, as soon as they met on the train. I read a ton of romance novels, and I get pretty bored of bookish, semi-Mary-Sue MC's who are shy with a more outgoing and usually sex-crazed b

Unity, Happiness, and Love. This is one of the latest greatest books I've read. I had the pleasure of enjoying it and will anxiously await the next book in this new series. This one starts with Juliet following Ben, who she believes is the love of her life, to NJU where he is on scholarship for football. At the subway station, she meets Chase who turns out to be Ben's roommate. They have what seems like an instant connection and she literally turns Chase's world upside down (and Juliet's map was ...more

She Laughs In Pink (Sheridan Hall #1) is absolutely beautiful & highly addictive! I love the cover & title which reflects the narrative perfectly. This is not your cookie cutter New Adult Romance that fits today's format and genre. Told in dual pov which accentuates the tone & depth of the narrative. I absolutely love this writing style as it fits into the genre of New Adult Romance perfectly. The chemistry between Juliette & Chase is sultry as well as swoon worthy. I've not read a New Adult book in a while, so when the opportunity arose to review She Laughs in Pink, after I revealed the gorgeous and super appropriate cover a while ago, I said yes, duh. It sounded great, and I loved the idea of two lost souls finding each other, although Juliet being in love with Ben, Chase's room-mate, did give me pause (and some angry feelings). But this was actually a great read. It's my first read from BookFish Books, but it will not be my last (especially since there's ...more

She Laughs In Pink was incredibly engaging and a lot of fun to read. It's a simple love story, really. Girl meets boy, boy likes girl, but girl likes someone else. But Jessica Calla does a great job of making it so much more than that.

I won't get into a recap for you, you can read the description of the book and it'll tell you everything I would want to say in this review. There's much more to the story, but I encourage you to read it and find out for yourself. Juliet and Chase are both complic

Wow!! I loved this book!!!I participated in the cover reveal back in March, and am so glad I got to read this fantastic book!! This book was easy for me to love because I completely adored Juliet as a character, particularly because she's a dancer. I totally understand what she meant by needing to dance, so I related to her well in addition to other aspects of her life. But even a non dancer would fall in love with Juliet and the rest of the characters who live in the basement of Sheridan Hall. ...more
