Her choice. His consequences. Nurse Sophie Mattuchi has seen a lot of angry patients in the ER, but no one's ever rattled her like Jack Carter. He has no right to blame her for his friend's death. Sophie did everything she could. Didn't she? Yet his accusations sting, and that sets off all kinds of internal alarms. She's never cared this much about any man's opinion of h ...more

Sophie’s Path, like the other books in Catherine Lanigan’s Shores of Indian Lake series, is full of characters that move right in to your heart. Many familiar faces return in this latest book, and while it does work fine as a stand alone the community and secondary characters are best appreciated as part of the series.

Sophie. Jack. Frenchie the dog. Jeremy. They all need a rescue of some sort, or at the least a redirection. A new path. It takes different forms in each character – and so

I was sucked in by this story from the very beginning. Catherine's perfect blend of emotion, character depth and description always keep me turning the page, but boy did she have my adrenaline pumping with this one! As someone with a background and experience in the medical arena (both professionally and personally), I must say that Catherine nailed the hospital emergency room scene in chapter one...and all the scenes in this incredible story. This is a beautiful story about overcoming pain, str ...more

SOPHIE'S PATH is another emotionally-satisfying and heartwarming read, and a wonderful addition to the Shores of Indian Lake series. This story would make a wonderful movie. I look forward to more installments to the series!

What a lovely heartwarming read. The author delivers a very touching read on some very touchy subjects which will touch your heart. I feel sure each of us has had to deal with someone in our life using drugs, the fallout, trying to get them help and maybe having to walk away. This is one author that deliveries a powerful story in a very classy style. You get to see both side of the coin from the nurse who did all she could to the man who lost someone very important to him, there pain, second gue ...more

"Heartwarming" is a perfect word for Catherine Lanigan's novel, Sophie's Path, especially since it deals with difficult subjects such as drug addiction. The author pulls the reader into the story right away, and her knowledge in this area, as well as hospital procedures, makes the situations seem almost real.

Jack Carter meets Sophie Mattuchi in an unlikely situation: When he's in the hospital after a car accident. And even though she cares for him as his nurse, events which transpire shortly aft

(4.5 Stars) This is only the second book I've read in the series and it can definitely stand alone. I enjoy the small-town books, as the characters meld in a way that really do warm the heart. I love how they all have a history together and how they look out for one another.

In this installment, we meet Sophie, a nurse. She is extremely dedicated to her job and has such a caring personality. The story starts out very fast paced, as there is an accident that Sophie and her colleagues are dealing w

4 1/2 STARS!

A sweet story about close-knit small town life, the sadness of guilt and most importantly about how helping someone else in even the smallest way could be the world to that other person.

Sophie Mattuchi is a great nurse and loved by many, but when a patient in the ER blames her for not doing enough to save his friend one night, it makes her second guess herself. She knows she does a good job, but could she have done more? She's never cared this much about what a man thought about her
I've loved nearly every book that I've read in the Heartwarming line, but while I enjoyed this one I didn't love it. I'm not sure of the reason, but more than likely it was my dislike of Sophie's love interest. At first I understood his opinion/feelings/grief, but once he and Sophie got together I thought it just became unbelievable the way he behaved with her.

I really liked Sophie. I loved her desire to help others, how she volunteered and helped her friends, but I didn't like how she stretched

This is the first book by Catherine Lanigan that I've read.It is a part of the Harlequin Heartwarming mini-series Shores of Indian Lake. Its the 6th book from that mini-series, so from what I've heard from other readers you get to revisit other characters from past stories here.

I liked Sophie and I felt sorry for her at the beginning when Jack was being less than kind towards her. He missed out on the Hippocratic oath.

This is a story about small town life and about two people that are trying to

Sophie's Path is an exceptional story with deep issue that touches you in a way no other does.
I always love small town romance and this one perfectly described the beauty of Indian Lake. I love reading the characters from another book in the series and how their lives turn out. It's interesting that Ms. Lanigan decided to write Sophie Mattuchi, a woman who was seen as the town flirt. But when I read it from her side, I realized that Sophie never had real interest until Jack Carter.

Sophie's Path is a lovely tale of small town living, forming friendships, finding your place, and meaning and purpose for your life. It is a process of healing, letting go, and finding peace after a tragedy.
Sophie seems to have a saviour complex, she is very involved, wants to fix, help, and heal everyone around her. She is not afraid to get involved, restore and revamp what she sees is needing it.
The tale is part of the series, filled with characters who have found their way to the small town

After finishing Sophie's Path, I found, while it was a sweet story, I didn't love it. Which is sad because this book is in my main genre. I enjoy most romances, even light and clean reads.

The one thing that I did enjoy about the story was Sophie. She was intelligent with a heart of gold. I liked how she tried to help anyone she could. I loved her determination to make Jack happy and have him come to terms with the accident. Giving him Frenchie the dog was a sweet touch. I had to look up a Yorki

I'm happy to be a part of the blog tour for this new addition to the Shores of Indian Lake series by Catherine Lanigan. Harlequin Heartwarming is one of my favorite publishing lines because I know I can trust that books from them are sweet and clean.

I think this is the third book I've read in this series now. It has all the old characters popping in at some point or another which really gives this series a feeling of community. You don't have to read the books in order to understand or enjoy eac

If you've never read any of Catherine Lanigan's books, Sophie's Path will stop you in your tracks, and have you adding her other books to your to-read list. This is the first of Catherine's books I've read, and though I later found out this is the 6th book in the collection series, this can be read as a standalone - at least I have no problems following along. I think what makes this possible is the focus Sophie's Path placed on its leading characters, Sophie and Jack (and I would like to throw ...more

To be honest with you I don't go for books that have "Heartwarming" on the cover. I sort of like a little bit a grit in my books. But every once in a while you need a book that's just plain...sweet.

But really, how often do you find a book that can be described like that? I don't think I've ever said that about a book. I've mention a book as having both heartwarming and touching moments, but never sweet. Or at least I don't think so.

But here it is, Sophie's Path (I kept thinking choice instead
From page one, Catherine Lanigan opens her story, Sophie’s Path, book six in the Shores of Indian Lake Series, with an intense and gripping scene that will pull readers in and keep them reading until the end of the novel! Readers will easily and quickly fall in love with not only the story, but the many different and wonderful well animated and depicted characters. I enjoyed the relationship between Sophie and Jack. It was both intense, yet full of change and discovery. I would recommend this no ...more

Sweet, sweet, sweet book! This book started right off with a big bang for me. It really grabbed me right from chapter one. I loved that much of the book took place in the hospital and ER. I love medical dramas and romances. This one had a lot of action and a lot of "hospital talk" LOL. I don't know why that appeals to me but it always has. I love Hospital TV shows (watched all 14 yrs of ER!)
This book brought all that back to me.

It did slow down a bit in the middle but I still loved reading it.

I loved this book!

Sophie was a character after my own heart.

She is a nurse who primarily works with heart patients, but she also picks up shifts in the ER.

I was a nurse in the ICU for year and then moved to the ER, so I got dedication to her patients. Plus, I know what it's like to make a triage decision in a moment.

This is a very touching story and will immediately draw the reader in. It evoked a lot of emotions for me. I might have shed a tear or two and smiled many times while reading it.

Sophie’s Path gets off to a highly dramatic start. Sophie Mattuchi, a cardiac ablation surgical nurse, who also dedicates time to assisting in the ER on weekends, has been called in to help with three individuals brought into the ER after being involved in a severe car accident. Jack Carter was the driver of one of the vehicles, and Sophie’s soothing voice comforts Jack while she addresses his injuries. Although badly wounded, Jack’s concern is not for himself, but it’s concentrated on two of hi ...more
